This product worked really well for me. I have folliculitis and dry skin. Since it's a soap, it can be drying, but after applying my basic skincare routine, I didn't experience any deep dryness, so it was fine. After about a week of use, my folliculitis improved significantly. The soap produces a sticky lather, which might feel irritating if used directly. What I did was lather it up between my hands, set the soap aside, and gradually add water to create a fluffy foam. I'd then apply this to my skin and leave it on for at least 3 minutes. This method definitely reduced irritation and rinsed off well. I highly recommend this product as it was very effective for my folliculitis! I've tried long-term prescription medications, as well as Pyrosin ointment and Fucidin, but they only had temporary effects. So I decided to give this a shot, and now I consider it a great purchase. The price is a bit high for a soap. Also, there were so many glowing reviews that I couldn't tell if they were viral marketing or ads, which made me skeptical. - kc********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 16, 2025
Skin condition: Folliculitis for about a month + hand eczema Product usage period: From 5.25.14 (today is the 3rd day) Product usage frequency: Used once a day during evening cleansing Other products used: Biplain Mung Bean Cleansing Foam, Little Mermaid Cleansing Water, Toriden Moisturizing Cream + Creosote (prescribed by dermatologist, used twice a day) < Previous usage method > 1. Had been suffering from folliculitis for about 2 weeks before buying the soap. The condition was worsening and the itchiness became severe, so I visited the dermatologist. The dermatologist recommended taking sebum-regulating medication, but I thought medication was a temporary solution, so I opted for the topical ointment Creosote instead. 2. Started applying Creosote from the evening of the day it was prescribed, after cleansing. 3. About 5 days after using Creosote, the condition improved slightly, but there was still some itchiness. After makeup removal in the evening, the areas with folliculitis appeared redder. 4. While using Creosote, I used the Biplain Mung Bean Cleansing Foam (mildly acidic) for morning and evening cleansing. 5. After searching, I learned about a soap for folliculitis and that the condition requires drying out excess oil, so I purchased it. 6. In the morning, I cleansed with the mild Biplain product, applied Creosote, and then the Toriden Moisturizing Cream. In the afternoon, I cleansed with the mildly alkaline (soap) product, then applied Creosote and Toriden Moisturizer. *Repeated step 6 for 3 days* [ 1st day after using the new soap ] - Felt a refreshing, clean sensation immediately after washing - Usually there's a tightness after washing, but with this soap, my skin felt very tight - In the morning, my skin felt less oily compared to before, and my skin looked more refined - The itchiness in the affected areas (2 spots that looked like pus-filled) decreased slightly [ 2nd day after using the new soap ] - Felt less oily throughout the day even after makeup - Similar to the first day - Around afternoon, felt some itchiness 2-3 times (the pus-like spots seemed to be subsiding)[ 3rd day after using the new soap ] - Even after wearing makeup and coming home from work, my skin still felt less oily - After the evening cleanse on the 3rd day, the skin on my chin felt extremely dry and flaky - The itchiness symptom was greatly relieved, and the folliculitis areas were subsiding (the bumpy, spread-out areas reduced significantly) # Definitely feel and see that the soap is effectively controlling the excess oil # Itchiness is relieved # The folliculitis is no longer spreading and is gradually subsiding It seems like it would get extremely dry if used daily, so when seborrheic dermatitis is severe, it's best to use it for 3 consecutive evenings during cleansing, then adjust the frequency of use afterwards. (The dryness becomes very noticeable from the 3rd day) For those with very sensitive skin, it's recommended to research thoroughly before purchasing. Since it's a soap, storage can be a bit challenging (I used a soap dish and hung it to dry after use, then stored it in a soap dish). When using soap, dividing it into quarters and placing it in a soap net will result in better lather and make it more convenient to use. - ek*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessRecommendedApr 22, 2025
I bought this soap after extensive research when I was diagnosed with folliculitis and seborrheic dermatitis! I used it morning and night, lathering it in a soap net, leaving it on like a mask for 4-5 minutes, and then gently rolling it while cleansing. For the first two days, it stung so much that I wondered if I was doing the right thing. But with each passing day, I could see the tiny bumps gradually disappearing. By the third day, the tingling sensation had reduced. Now, after about a month of use, there's no stinging at all! Plus, my dermatitis has almost completely cleared up! It's a bit on the pricey side, and there's absolutely no hydration left after cleansing, so you really need to follow up with a good moisturizer! - dm********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessFeb 25, 2025
I have skin with folliculitis and acne, but I don't feel like this product is effective, unfortunately. It's disappointing that it's expensive without being effective. It feels slippery and doesn't give that fresh, matte sensation. - al*******Combination SkinAcne SkinFeb 12, 2025
There's absolutely nothing positive to say... I feel like I fell for the advertising hype. I bought this product hoping it would help with my seborrheic dermatitis and folliculitis concerns. However, my skin, which wasn't too bad before, seems to have gotten ten times worse. I was already hesitant because all the blogs claiming to be honest reviews turned out to be sponsored posts, and I should have trusted my instincts. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm doing so now to prevent others from experiencing the same disappointment. The Hwahae Testers should really take a closer look at products like these that can potentially worsen skin conditions. - sj*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 9, 2024
I have combination dehydrated skin that's super sensitive and prone to blemishes. Due to stress and wheat consumption, I had severe acne on my chin. Even inflammation injections at the dermatologist didn't help, but this soap made it all disappear! It's a bit pricey, but I'm definitely willing to keep reordering it. It's a shame that it dissolves quickly. It seems important to rinse it with cold water after each use when keeping it on a tray. Cutting it in half seems to make it last longer. Using it as a final cleanse on acne-prone areas appears to help calm the skin and prevent breakouts from worsening the next day. - tl*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 13, 2024
I originally used natural soaps from other brands, but after using aloe a few times that didn't suit me, my folliculitis started spreading like crazy again. So I decided to try this soap! It's effective for folliculitis... While it doesn't completely eliminate it, and it tends to disappear in one spot only to appear in another, it has still significantly improved my forehead, which was terribly congested before. Now it's much clearer! Even when I went to Fukuoka recently, despite the hot weather, wearing makeup, walking 20,000-30,000 steps while sweating, and touching up my makeup, this little helper seemed to protect my skin well. It seems to be effective for dermatitis in general too... To be honest, it's not a low pH cleanser, it's a soap, so it's not completely free of irritation. They recommend leaving it on as a soap pack and massaging for 1 minute, but for sensitive skin like mine, rubbing it immediately makes my face turn red. I just leave it on for 1 minute without moving, then gently massage while rinsing with water! But even then, it can sometimes be irritating. However, by the next day, the irritation usually subsides and my skin feels calmed! If you have sensitive skin, don't rub it in. Just place it on your skin and gently wash it off while rinsing with water! - sa******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJul 16, 2024
Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin, blemishes, super sensitive skin Texture / Consistency: Slippery, slightly sticky soap lather Scent: Nearly fragrance-free Reason for purchase / Review: Summer arrived and my folliculitis and acne exploded, so I bought this. Usually, I take prescription medication from the dermatologist every summer, but worried about various side effects and liver health, I decided to try self-care this summer. When you lather it with water, it's not like regular soap foam, but more like a sticky essence-like lather. I've only used it for about 2 weeks, so I need to observe longer, but it's not irritating for sensitive, oily skin, and it seems to have a calming effect after use. Being a bar soap, it requires a bit more care for storage, and it's on the pricier side - that's about it for downsides. I try to create as rich a lather as possible, then apply the soap foam to my face for a very brief 'soap mask' during cleansing. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 15, 2024
After using it for about 3 days, I feel like my skin has calmed down a bit..! I'm not sure about my left cheek, but it seems like the blemishes on my right cheek are starting to disappear. I thought I'd see results right away, but I guess I need to be patient and keep using it for a few more days. - kr********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresMay 26, 2024
It seems to work well for managing folliculitis. Rather than using it daily, I'd recommend rolling it on like soap about 2-3 times a week. Being a soap, frequent use not only removes dead skin cells but can also strip the skin's surface, causing white flaking and significant moisture loss. As a result, my combination dehydrated skin suffered, and my skin barrier became quite compromised. Absolutely avoid using it every day. Also, it's not advisable to roll it on like a mask for extended periods. About 3 minutes seems to be the right duration.
