It's definitely a gentle cosmetic product, and you can feel a soothing effect the next morning. The texture is disappointing. How to describe it... It's like spraying water on a waterproof coat? It pills like dead skin cells... - di****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedMar 3, 2025
As someone who has battled atopic dermatitis my entire life, I've ended up with extremely dry skin and a body covered in redness. My skin isn't perfect, with scars from scratching and rough patches here and there, but I'm a 50-something woman who confidently wears swimsuits in summer! While there are more ingredients that don't work for me than those that do, I don't rely solely on EWG ratings to judge products. Instead, I check ingredient lists for anything I know doesn't agree with me. If I'm unsure, I'll just buy it and try it out - I'm a bit of a reckless beauty junkie! 1. I've been using this product since before it was reformulated, and I've lost count of how many tubes I've gone through. 2. The pre-reformulation version was thicker and more moisturizing. After the reformulation, it became more of a gel-like texture, which is great for summer use. However, as I've gotten older, I do miss the extra hydration a bit. 3. The popular Cicapair Intensive Soothing Repair Gel Cream 50ml is an opaque green gel-cream that's a bit thicker and slightly more emollient. It's a regular cream you can use day or night. This cream, on the other hand, is 75ml, slightly cheaper, and has a more transparent green gel texture. It feels more hydrating than oily and is much lighter, but it's marketed as a sleeping mask. While it's not sticky and can be used during the day, I noticed some pilling when I tried it under makeup. 4. Both can be used as cream masks and are equally effective for soothing. Some reviews prefer the Cicapair Gel Cream for day and night use, but both worked well on my intense redness. 5. If you're wondering why I prefer this Cicapair Sleepair Intensive Soothing Repair Mask: 1) I use many anti-aging creams already. 2) I needed a wash-off mask. 3) It's larger and often cheaper when on sale. 4) I have a phobia of milia and closed comedones, so I prefer lighter textures. 5) The ingredient list shows higher concentrations of cica ingredients compared to the gel cream. 6. I don't usually sleep with sleeping masks on because: 1) I don't like them transferring to my pillow. 2) I worry about the burden on my skin overnight. 3) I don't even like leaving gel masks on for 5-6 hours, fearing it might dry out my skin. 7. Instead, I use sleeping masks as a base layer, applying them thickly and then putting a modeling mask, gel mask, or sheet mask on top. I remove it when it starts to feel slightly dry. 8. This Cicapair Soothing Repair Mask is my go-to cream mask when my skin looks dull or my redness flares up. Here's my routine: First, I apply Wellage Real Hyaluronic Ampoule like a toner. Then, I use either Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream or Uriage Cica Daily Intense Repairing Serum. In summer, I mix the Cicapair mask with either Numbuzin No.1 Cream or B.plane Mung Bean Pore Cream. (You can mix it with any cream that works for you!) In winter, I mix it with a barrier cream and apply it thickly. (My 80-year-old mom mixes it with Nivea cream, but I'm too scared to try that!) For intense redness, I top it with a modeling mask. If I'm feeling lazy, I use a Mediheal Tea Tree mask. When I'm a bit less lazy, I use a Biohealbo gel mask. 9. After about 30 minutes to an hour, when it's adequately dry, I gently cleanse with cleansing water and a foaming cleanser. 10. I do this up to twice a week - it's great for strengthening the skin barrier. 11. While it might not be suitable for those with severe acne, if you have combination-oily or oily skin that feels very dry: Apply a thin layer alone, then put your usual sheet mask on top. Remove when it's dried to a tacky consistency. Gently wipe off with a pad or rinse with water. Find a combination that works for you - you can even do this daily if it helps with dryness. 12. The downside is you might feel some pilling overnight or the next day. If this happens, do a gentle foam cleanse with a sponge in the morning. 13. Dr. Jart+ products don't go on sale often, so I recommend: - Buying from their website with first-purchase coupons for big discounts (great for pricier items like the new Bakuchiol serum or cream - you get lots of samples and can return if it doesn't work out) - Or waiting for Olive Young sales for products you've tried before 14. As someone with extremely dry skin, I've tried many Dr. Jart+ products, but not all are worth recommending. My top picks are: 1. This Cicapair Sleepair Intensive Soothing Repair Mask 2. Vital Hydra Solution Hydro Overnight Mask (great for oily, acne-prone skin lacking hydration - use with a Mediheal Tea Tree mask) 3. Vital Hydra Solution Hydro Plump Treatment Essence (hydrating toner - keep the dropper bottle to refill, it's as nice as the Wellage ampoule) 4. Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturizing Eye Cream These four are definitely worth trying! I've detailed everything above. I truly appreciate you taking the time to read it all carefully. As someone who's struggled with atopic dermatitis my entire life, I've developed extremely dry skin with redness all over. Despite the scars and rough patches from years of scratching, I'm a confident 50-something woman who proudly wears swimsuits in summer! I'm a bit of a reckless beauty junkie. Instead of relying solely on EWG ratings, I check ingredient lists for known irritants and often just try products to see how they work for me. I've been using this Cicapair Sleepair Intensive Soothing Repair Mask since before its reformulation. The new version is more gel-like and lighter, which is great for summer, but I do miss the extra hydration of the original formula as I've gotten older. Compared to the popular Cicapair Intensive Soothing Repair Gel Cream, this mask is larger (75ml), often cheaper, and has a more transparent, hydrating texture. It's marketed as a sleeping mask but can be used during the day, though I noticed some pilling under makeup. I prefer this mask because: 1. I already use many anti-aging creams 2. I needed a wash-off mask 3. It's more cost-effective 4. I prefer lighter textures to avoid milia and closed comedones 5. It has higher concentrations of cica ingredients I don't sleep with it on, but use it as a base for other masks. My routine involves layering it with serums and other creams, then topping with a sheet mask or modeling mask for about 30-60 minutes before gently cleansing. This mask is excellent for strengthening the skin barrier and soothing redness. It's great for combination-oily or oily skin types experiencing dryness, but might not be suitable for severe acne. For the best value, look for sales at Olive Young or use first-purchase coupons on the Dr. Jart+ website. My top Dr. Jart+ recommendations are: 1. This Cicapair Sleepair Intensive Soothing Repair Mask 2. Vital Hydra Solution Hydro Overnight Mask 3. Vital Hydra Solution Hydro Plump Treatment Essence 4. Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturizing Eye Cream These products have worked wonders for my extremely dry, sensitive skin. Try incorporating this into your daily mask routine! This Cicapair Sleepair Intensive Soothing Repair Mask can be a fantastic addition to your daily mask regimen. Here's how you can use it: 1. Apply a thin layer of the mask as a base. 2. Follow up with your favorite sheet mask on top. 3. Leave it on for about 30 minutes to an hour. 4. Gently remove the sheet mask and lightly pat any remaining essence into your skin. 5. If there's any residue, you can either leave it overnight or gently cleanse with a mild foam cleanser. This method allows you to boost your daily masking routine with extra soothing and repairing benefits. It's especially helpful for those days when your skin feels particularly irritated or red. For those with oily or combination dehydrated skin, this can be a great way to add hydration without heaviness. You can adjust the thickness of the Cicapair layer based on your skin's needs that day. Remember, consistency is key with skincare. A daily mask routine using this product could significantly improve your skin's hydration, reduce redness, and strengthen your skin barrier over time. Just be sure to listen to your skin and adjust as needed! - ky******Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessFeb 11, 2025
I tried this because it's one of the top-rated cica products. It has a moisturizing and bouncy texture that's likely great for dry skin. After application, your skin becomes glossy as if it's been coated. You absolutely must wash thoroughly in the morning, otherwise your skin peels off like dead skin cells. It doesn't calm blemishes as much as expected. Due to its texture, it's likely to stain your pillow, so you can't lie down comfortably after use. - ya*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresJan 13, 2025
As it's a sleeping pack, I noticed my skin felt immediately moisturized and plump after cleansing the next morning. It was exactly like how my skin feels after using a sheet mask. What's great is that unlike other sleeping packs that often transfer onto bedding, this one didn't leave any residue at all! The texture is also quite thick, making it easy to apply without dripping, and it adheres well to the skin. I bought this because it's supposedly popular among those with oily or sensitive skin, but I'm not so sure about that. It seems more suitable for dry skin types. While it immediately improved my skin texture, the sleeping pack itself is quite rich and oily, which quickly led to blemishes. I noticed I would consistently break out every time I used this pack. If you have oily skin and want to use this, I'd recommend applying only the thinnest layer of your base skincare products before using this mask. This product can feel heavy even if you've only applied toner and emulsion. You might be better off just using toner before applying this pack. - a0**********Combination SkinDark CirclesRednessRecommendedJan 2, 2025
It absorbs really well, and when I sleep with it on, my skin feels super soft the next morning. After a few minutes, it's not sticky at all and doesn't transfer to my pillow, which is great! It's a bit sticky when you first apply it, but honestly, that's about the only downside I noticed. - gk*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 20, 2024
- To be honest, while its 'soothing' effect might not be as strong as Dokjak's Cica Ampoule or other products, - It feels like the soothing care is truly complete when you finish with this after applying other calming products. - When applied as a final layer, it feels like it seals everything in, making your skincare absorb better! - The hydration and radiant complexion you wake up to in the morning is insane.. - Slather it on generously before bed for best results - If only it were more focused on cica ingredients! - The jar packaging is so inconvenient.. We urgently need a tube version. - Before bed, layer on cica products for a robust skincare routine, then finish with this as the final step - b9********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedNov 18, 2024
The texture feels moisturizing at first, but it absorbs quickly without leaving any sticky residue. As I have dry skin, I found it slightly lacking in hydration. It works better if you apply a small amount of a richer cream on top. - dm*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 16, 2024
A month-long review of my own purchase: The product forms a protective layer on the skin. After evening cleansing, gently apply it as the final step in your routine. The formula is slightly transparent and spreads smoothly. Once applied, it creates a film-like layer on the skin. The next morning during cleansing, you'll notice a slippery sensation! There's definitely a noticeable difference in hydration between nights when I use it and nights when I don't. Since it forms a film-like layer on the skin, it doesn't absorb well. Those who dislike the slippery feeling might not prefer this product. The packaging itself requires spreading with fingers, which can be slightly inconvenient to use. - wl**********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedOct 21, 2024
I tried it and absolutely loved it! It gives you baby-soft skin in the morning. There was nothing to complain about. It was fantastic! Top-notch product! - to*******Dry SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 16, 2024
When I use this as a sleeping pack and wash it off the next morning, I can feel my skin texture becoming softer. While it doesn't necessarily brighten my complexion, I sense an overall improvement in my skin texture, making it great to use when my skin is acting up. Like all sleeping packs, it's difficult to turn over in bed after applying it, and you have to sleep facing the ceiling...
