Among the products sold at Olive Young, this one is relatively affordable and often comes with a 1+1 deal, making it a great value for money. Being tea tree-based, it has a slightly medicinal scent, but it's not overwhelming during use. It's great for summer as it effectively reduces facial heat.
ConsAs someone with blemish-prone skin, I've tried a few other tea tree products from different brands, and I found the immediate cooling and soothing effects of this one a bit lacking in comparison. After removing the mask, my face felt noticeably cooler to the touch, indicating that it did reduce heat. However, I didn't feel an immediate cooling sensation when first applying it, nor during the time it was on my face. While the kit includes tools like a cup and spatula, the cup is too deep compared to the spatula, making it difficult to mix. After the second use, I just used my own tools at home. The water measurement system, which involves folding the lid, seemed a bit imprecise. There's a tab on one side of the lid for tearing, but when I initially folded it without including this part and added water twice, it wasn't quite enough. The next time, I included the pointed part when folding and added water twice, but as you can see in the photo, it became too watery. It would be better if there was a water level line marked on the bottom of the cup. Lastly, while unavoidable, the powder is so fine that it tends to float in the air like dust. I always had to hold my breath while pouring it, and cleanup was a bit of a hassle.

The last photo is after using the mask! 💙 Scent: It has that typical cica scent, but it's not overpowering, so I think most people can use it without strong likes or dislikes. 💙 Cooling effect: There's an overall cooling sensation! It's not extreme, but you can feel a nice coolness while waiting after application. I personally liked that it wasn't irritating or burning. 💙 Soothing: While it's not dramatically calming, it does work! I regret not having a before photo, but my skin was a bit more flushed before the mask, and afterwards, the redness seemed to have settled down. 💙 Drying time: It dries pretty quickly! This means you need to spread it fast. If you apply it thickly, it peels off easily! 💙 Convenience: Instead of measuring exact ml, you use the cup lid to measure water by cup. This is somewhat convenient as you just need to fold the lid, but it's not precise, so you might want to adjust the consistency as you go. (This applies to other modeling masks too...) 💙 Overall: A product that's good for gentle, hassle-free use! Honestly, at the regular price of 4,800 won, you might be tempted to go for other well-known products instead. However! With the current 1+1 deal at Olive Young, it's definitely worth picking up and using!
Cons🤍 Dryness: I applied my usual light serum before the mask, and I did feel a slight dryness. I have combination skin so it wasn't too bad, but those with dry skin might notice it more. 🤍 Powder fallout: This is probably similar for most modeling masks, but there is some powder fallout. 🤍 Spatula length: It seems they matched it to the container size, but the tool is short compared to the container depth! This makes mixing the contents a bit challenging.
Tip☀️ I think it would be great to do your full skincare routine before applying the mask! Especially for those with dry skin!! (Even with my combination skin, I felt a tiny bit of dryness after just applying one serum) ☀️ When adding water, definitely don't put too much in at first. Make sure to add it gradually while checking the consistency!

The tea tree scent is strong but not overpowering - it's actually quite refreshing. I used this after a nose pack, aiming for a soothing effect and pore tightening. It seems to have softened my blackheads a bit. After removing the nose pack, my pores appeared more refined and my skin looked smoother than if I had done nothing. The cooling effect on both my face and mood was delightful. What's more, the temperature-lowering effect lasted longer than other masks I've tried. My skin tends to heat up after cleansing due to sensitivity, but I didn't even think about facial heat for about 2 hours after using this.
ConsThere's a lot of powder that becomes airborne when pouring out the product. Once it dries, the thickly applied areas peel off easily, but the thinly applied parts turn white and become stiff, almost like a plaster cast. Getting the right consistency is challenging. Both times I used it, it started setting before I could apply it all over my face. I'm not sure if I'm over-mixing or not mixing enough - modeling masks are proving quite difficult for me.
TipThis isn't a pro tip, but rather my tale of trial and error. First attempt: It was my first time trying a DIY modeling mask. I'd heard it was good for pore care and calming the skin, so I wanted to see the effects. I double-cleansed and used a peel-off nose pack first. Following the instructions, I added about 1.5 cups of water using the folded lid, but it wasn't nearly enough. I added another 0.5 cups. I tried to mix it quickly and apply it to my face, but it wouldn't spread well. Before I'd covered half my face, it had thickened and the part on my nose was lifting. I added another 0.5 cups of water and mixed again, but it wouldn't dissolve properly. So I just slapped the thick mixture onto my face. After 20 minutes, I peeled it off. Despite the thick application, I was relieved that powder didn't fall off while wearing it. Second attempt: Total failure. This time, I skipped the nose pack and started with a clean, double-cleansed face. I began with 3 cups of water since 2 cups dried out while mixing last time. But it seemed even harder to mix. I stirred vigorously, took a photo, and realized it had already set. When I tried to mix again, the surface was smooth but the inside was already clumping. I tried to apply the clumps to my face, but they wouldn't spread and just fell off when I tried. It felt less cooling than the first attempt, probably because I was applying an already-setting mixture. I have one packet left out of the three I received, and I'm determined to get it right next time!

Scent The refreshing tea tree aroma feels natural, not artificial, creating a healing atmosphere as you use it. 2. Effectiveness You can feel an immediate cooling effect upon application, which helps soothe the skin. I particularly loved the noticeable cooling sensation. After cleansing and applying ampoules and creams, you often feel a warmth on your skin, but this mask helps to calm that sensation. 3. Application Even as a beginner, I found it easy to apply. It didn't dry as quickly as I expected, which was nice. Applying a thicker layer enhances the effects, and you can feel the cooling sensation throughout the entire mask-wearing process. When it came time to remove it, it peeled off more easily than I anticipated and left no residue!
Cons1. There's a bit of excess powder Be careful, as some powder can spill when pouring the mask into the mixing bowl, and there's also some powder scatter when mixing. 2. Water amount The instructions say to fold the lid twice and add about 2 cups of water, but I wish there were markings on the lid for guidance. I used 2 cups, but it was a bit runny. I think 1.5 cups might work better. With 2 cups, it flowed easily, making the forehead area a bit thin. As the mask dried, I could feel the warmth returning to my forehead. Make sure to apply a thick layer!

Brilliant! ✓ Scent: There's a subtle cica and mint fragrance, but it's so faint you can barely notice it when applying to your face. ✓ How to use: 1. Shake the modeling powder in the pouch downwards before opening to minimize dust. 2. Pour the powder into the container (slight powder dispersion may occur). 3. Shape the container lid into a cone, like you're about to enjoy cup noodles, and add 2 cups of water. 4. Mix slowly with the included spatula at first, then vigorously as the powder and water combine. 5. Apply a thick layer of the rubber-like pack using the spatula. 6. After 10 minutes, when dry, peel off and continue with your skincare routine. ✓ Application: Getting the right water ratio for modeling packs can be tricky, but this one's perfect with just 2 lid-fulls of water. It's so easy and convenient! ✓ As a modeling pack novice, I'm not great at applying them evenly. But thanks to the perfect consistency, I could smoothly apply it everywhere except around the nose. Even as a beginner, I achieved a flawless application! ✓ It starts drying within 5 minutes of application and is completely dry in under 10 minutes! I sat up while it dried, and it didn't drip or slide off - it stayed put exactly where I applied it. ✓ As it dries, you might feel a slight tightening sensation, but don't worry - it's just the pack drying, not your skin getting dehydrated. When you first apply it, there's a cool sensation that helps reduce facial heat. After removing the pack, my skin felt smooth and calm, creating the perfect canvas for the next steps in my skincare routine. Overall, this pack leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth, with reduced facial heat - a great prep for the rest of your regimen!
Cons✓ While the modeling powder mixes easily with water at first, it starts to set quickly once applied to your face. It's best to apply it generously and swiftly. The thinner areas at the edges can be tricky to remove when dry - I found using a toner pad to gently wipe those areas works well. ✓ The pack dries remarkably fast - in less than 10 minutes! As it dries, you might feel a tightening sensation on your face. It's not a drying feeling per se, but more of a firming effect as the pack sets.
Tip✓ The modeling pack comes as a fine powder, so to avoid it flying everywhere, gather the powder at the bottom of the pouch before opening. ✓ When mixing with water, start gently to avoid powder dispersion, then mix vigorously as it begins to combine. ✓ Using the provided spatula makes application easier. Use the flat side for larger areas and the edge for smaller spots - works like a charm! ✓ There's usually enough product left to extend the application down to your neck, which is a nice bonus!

Personally, I didn't find it off-putting! ▪️Excess powder ⭐️⭐️⭐️ : I felt there was more powder scatter than with the Laneige modeling pack, but it wasn't significantly bothersome. ▪️Convenience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ : I often pack modeling masks for trips, but it's such a hassle to portion out the powder, pack the container, and remember the spatula. This solves everything in one go! Especially love that you can fold the lid to control water amount. ▪️Cooling effect ⭐️⭐️ : Compared to my usual modeling packs, the cooling sensation was milder. My regular product gives an instant refreshing chill when applied, but this one just offered the typical coolness of a modeling mask, which was a bit disappointing. ▪️Hydration ⭐️⭐️ : As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I noticed the hydration fading towards the end, even after applying toner and moisturizer before the mask. Those without extremely dry skin might find the hydration satisfactory! ▪️Clean removal ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ : My usual product leaves residue even when applied thickly, requiring me to scrub with a toner pad. This one peels off cleanly for the most part, even at the edges, which is great! ▪️Spatula ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ : I saw some comments about the spatula being too short, but I loved it! Using the flatter side to apply the mask results in a super smooth application, and it rolls up nicely! I've even kept the spatula separately for travel use. It's fantastic!
Cons▪️The disappointing aspects, as mentioned above, were the lack of hydration and cooling effect.
Tip▪️When spreading the mask with the spatula, use the less curved side! It spreads evenly without leaving residue on the sides. ▪️Apply the mask thickly around the edges! This makes removal much easier. ▪️For those with dry skin, apply plenty of moisturizer before using the mask!

Perfect for sensitive skin like mine that tends to get flushed during seasonal changes, especially when wearing a mask. The tea tree ingredient quickly calms my skin and provides deep hydration! While there is a tea tree scent, it's subtle and not overpowering, making it pleasant to use.
ConsBeing a modeling mask, if you don't get the water ratio right, it can drip everywhere...
TipI like to mix in some ampoule or toner when using this mask. While it's on, you can feel your skin becoming calmer and more hydrated!
