The consistency is more of a thin gel rather than a watery liquid. I have combination skin with atopic patches, and when I apply this hydrating ampoule, it feels like it's intensely moisturizing just the dry areas! Many hydrating ampoules can feel like they're stripping moisture, similar to ethanol-based products, but the Merge Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule not only locks in hydration but also gives a firming effect when massaged in, which I really appreciate! Soothing effect: I tried keeping it in the refrigerator and applying it cool - it feels incredibly refreshing! Personally, I recommend using it chilled. Applying the cool ampoule after cleansing in the morning helps reduce puffiness and leaves the skin feeling hydrated.
ConsThere's a slight antiseptic scent, despite being described as fragrance-free (Please take into account that I have a very sensitive nose!) Like most hydrating ampoules, it does leave a slightly sticky feeling after application. Unfortunately, my atopic areas feel a bit more irritated after use.
TipIt's great to mix this cool ampoule into a modeling mask for an amazing cooling effect!
