As many have mentioned, I'm worried about it getting dented if I carry it around, or what might happen if it gets wet. I'm also concerned that if I accidentally push it in too hard, I won't be able to insert it properly.

While randomly searching for Hwahae, I came across this unique product. The multi-balm I used to use is discontinued or out of stock, so I was curious and purchased this eco-friendly product, not expecting much. However, I'm pleasantly surprised not only by the ingredients but also the effectiveness. It's moisturizing, long-lasting, and applies smoothly.

There are no disappointing aspects!

While the all-paper product may be a bit inconvenient to apply and put back, considering it's for the environment, I think that minor inconvenience is worth it! So it's hard to pinpoint any real downsides, but I figured I should at least write something in the 'disappointing aspects' section.

☝🏻 Gender-neutral healthy complexion lip balm
It applies with a truly natural color. In my opinion, it seems to apply as a warm-toned color, but over time it maintains a healthy flush like my own lips. I think even men could use it comfortably.
When I use tinted lip balms, I often experience peeling and a lack of moisture, to the point where my sensitive lips bleed. But the Raum Balm is so comfortable to apply, and it helps calm the peeling, so I really love it🩷

☝🏻 Beautifully eco-friendly packaging 

This is the first time I've seen a lip balm in a paper package like this, from Monage. The realistic endangered animal print on it is so pretty and cute.

The package clearly reflects Monage's brand image of being environmentally conscious, and I'm very satisfied with that.

Moreover, it has a unique press-down design that you don't see in other lip balms! It's a bit inconvenient to put back in, but I think the environmental consideration makes up for that minor inconvenience!

☝🏻 Light and refreshing to use

As someone who applies lip balm frequently, I tend to avoid heavy formulas. Especially when eating or drinking coffee, the oily residue can be quite unpleasant. But the Monage balm has a lightweight feel, so I don't have to worry about it much when enjoying food and drinks.

The paper case is a bit disappointing, but it seems fine to get used to it.

The color payoff seems weak, but the color payoff is actually good.
It feels light when applied.

 The thing is... wiping it as soon as it gets dirty, just like with paper, is... (the same goes for tint, haha) the best way to keep it as clean as possible! I don't think it's bothering me yet!

 The part that was a bit difficult to use was that in the beginning, when applied to the lips, it didn't spread evenly like a typical lip balm, but rather sat in pieces on the lips and would fall off. So it was better to rub it a few times on the back of my hand to smooth out those areas before using it...ㅠ

 The formula is quite firm. It's not extremely soft, so it applies well. However, it's not too hard, making it difficult to apply or causing discomfort. Compared to the thickness of the formula, it's very moisturizing, but not overly sticky or greasy, which I liked. It's comfortable on the lips! Of course, in the dead of winter, I think I'll use it more in other seasons than in winter, as my lips tend to crack even with a thick application.

When swatched on the back of my hand, it shows up as a warm-toned orangey rose shade, and on my darker skin tone (around shade 23), it comes off beautifully as a rosy tone. It's not too warm-toned or overpowering on the face, which I liked. If it's too warm-toned or too cool-toned, it can look off on the face, but this shade applies nicely. (For me, it leans slightly warm-toned.) As a dry-skinned person, I often use it as a blush because the color is so pretty, allowing me to do a quick, effortless makeup look for work.

The packaging is paper-based, which may be a pro or con for some, but I really liked it. I enjoy using products that I've grown attached to (I generally like to use things for a long time), and the fact that it's less burdensome on the environment when I finish it is a big plus for me.

The scent is more like the natural fragrance of the ingredients rather than a fragrance, and it's not noticeable or taste-able when applied to the lips, so it didn't bother me.

The grip is great, and it's not too inconvenient to use, so I used it well. Placing my second finger on the height adjustment area and holding the body with my thumb and middle finger, I can apply it quite firmly without any issues. And surprisingly, even though the Hwahae Trial Reviewer is larger than a regular lip balm, the slightly recessed center makes it easy to apply following the contours of my lips.

1. It tended to crumble a bit when applied like a lipstick, which was inconvenient.
2. As it is a lip balm, it was difficult to apply precisely on the lips in a straight line.
3. Removing the lip balm from the case required extra care to avoid it breaking completely.
4. The color payoff was not very strong, so it needed to be reapplied frequently.
5. The paper-based packaging easily got dirty, making the product look less appealing.

The natural finish makes it great for wearing on bare skin, and you don't need to apply it multiple times for the color to show up well. It's moderately moisturizing and doesn't feel slippery. The scent is not particularly pleasant, but it's not bothersome either.

 When I use a matte product as the base and apply this product as a blush, it gives a subtle glow!

The combination with a hydrating base is amazing - just apply a thin layer of the base and then top it with this product, and it's the perfect 'no-makeup' makeup look! 🤭

I often use tint as a blush as well. This way, the lip and cheek colors match, and tint is more hydrating than blush, so using tint as a blush gives a subtle glow. This Monage Multi Balm Raume Balm is a 'multi' balm, so it's very convenient for travel. When I tried it, the color payoff was great, and the color was so natural, which is exactly my style. I'm on the cooler side, and this color comes out as an orange tone on me. I don't usually like orange tones, but this blends seamlessly with my natural flush, so lately I've been using this for both my lips and cheeks without needing a separate tint.

The packaging is very inconvenient to use. It's not a twist-up lip balm, but one that needs to be pushed up from the bottom. The lip balm formula is hard like a crayon, and the edges are raised, so when you apply it, it always breaks and leaves lip balm chunks stuck to your lips..
No matter how good the product is, if it's inconvenient to use, I end up not using it often.

To add to my personal experience, I accidentally pushed the product all the way up and was unable to push it back down. I eventually managed to cover it with the cap and forcefully push it down, but I hope other users can use this product more comfortably.

The convenience factor is quite low. Unlike regular lip balms, this product requires you to press the bottom to push the product up, rather than twisting a handle. The material is also very stiff, making it difficult to push up. Once you've pushed it up, you also can't push it back down, which is very inconvenient. Moreover, the product's thicker shape and different application method were confusing at first, and the lack of instructions made it even more challenging.

As someone who had only used the Nivea Lip Care Strawberry Shine, the pigmentation of this product was a cultural shock, as it was significantly more pigmented. Just a couple of swipes was enough to achieve satisfactory coverage, so the pigmentation was highly satisfactory.
