Unlike typical scalp scrubs that can be harsh and cumbersome to use, this product is refreshingly simple. Just spray it on, give your scalp a quick massage, and you're done! I was worried the ginger scent might be overpowering, but it's pleasantly subtle. After rinsing, my scalp didn't feel dry or itchy at all. The cooling sensation while drying my hair was absolutely delightful. I honestly can't find any real drawbacks. If I had to nitpick, I suppose the liquid formula means it might run out quickly. But that's really stretching for a complaint. This scalp treatment seems to work hard to provide a gentle yet effective cleanse without irritation. It's perfect for those with sensitive scalps looking for an easy addition to their hair care routine. - by********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 6, 2025
- Packaging: The pointed tip allows for precise application to specific areas of the scalp. - Texture and Scent: The formula has a slightly viscous consistency. Due to the high concentration of turmeric root extract, it has a scent reminiscent of herbal medicine or medicinal plants. When massaged, it produces a small amount of lather. - User Experience: I appreciate that it can be used before shampooing or as a shampoo alternative. It lathers up when massaged into the scalp. While it's recommended to use 2-3 times a week for dry scalps and 3-5 times for oily scalps, I've been using it once a week. This brand also has a tea tree product, and while this one is less tingly, it still provides a significant cooling sensation. It feels more refreshing and cooling than regular cooling shampoos, which seems great for soothing scalp heat. I like that my hair doesn't feel dry after use. Post-use, my scalp feels less itchy, as if I've had a professional scalp treatment. The product seems like it might run out quickly, but I'm willing to repurchase. It stings if it gets in your eyes, so be careful to avoid eye contact. - ju*******Oily SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRednessMay 14, 2025
Around 24 years ago, I bought and used it occasionally, but since February of this year, I have stopped using it after experiencing reddening of my skin due to the shampoo lather dripping down my body. However, I tried it again yesterday and was shocked, so I'm writing a review. First, I'll list the reasons why I used it well back in 2004, and then I'll write about the disappointing aspects that shocked me. ✅ Good cleansing power ✅ Claimed to have anti-hair loss functionality, so I used it along with a scalp scrubber anyway ✅ Produces good lather ✅ Has a cooling sensation Although I'm not extremely oily, my scalp is oily, so the shampoos I was using at the time (Trisel Night, Growers' pink shampoo, Dr. Groot Aqua? for itchy scalp) didn't completely cleanse, and over the days, it seemed like old sebum would form into granules. So I used this shampoo about once a week to thoroughly rinse away the old sebum. It would refreshingly blow away the old sebum. The cooling sensation was also good. As for the anti-hair loss functionality, I wasn't sure about it even when I used it back in 2004. In fact, it seemed like my hair would fall out more when drying, but I thought the scalp scrubber was just removing the hair that was already going to fall out anyway. Last year I was using it well, but after finding a shampoo that suits me better this year, I tried it again after a long time and my hair fell out a lot. It fell out more than twice as much as when it fell out a lot..ㅠㅠ When using a shampoo that suits me well, even though a lot of it falls into the drain, it's less than 10 strands, but this time it really.. It fell out so much that it formed a round clump and came up in the drain with the fine mesh. I was lathering with a scalp scrubber and leaving it on while cleansing, but when my shoulder blades started itching, I turned around and saw that the area was reddened. It was also a cleanser that didn't suit my body...I didn't know that last year and was using it well ㅠㅠ Since it has strong cleansing power, it must have been irritating.. I didn't know I was sensitive, but I've learned that I've been quite sensitive since this year. It's a scalp scrubber that would generally work well, except for sensitive skin. Leaving it to foam for 1-2 minutes will allow the scalp to Hwahae, making the cleansing more effective. However, as there is a certain degree of stimulation, it is not advisable to leave it on for too long! - sp*****Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 11, 2025
Using this before shampooing makes my hair feel cleaner. I love that I can even get refills. I don't have any complaints so far. I'll know more as I continue using it, but I'm very satisfied. - nw******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 13, 2025
At some point, I noticed my scalp odor was getting worse and my hair seemed to be thinning at the crown. After looking into the cause, I realized my habits were the problem. So I decided to improve my routine and bought this product! I've been using it every 2-3 days before shampooing. With about 1/3 of the bottle left, I can say the effects were almost immediate. Previously, if I washed my hair at night, by late afternoon the next day I'd have a strong scalp odor. But amazingly, after using this product, that smell is gone. Plus, hair loss has noticeably decreased. A hairstylist once told me it's better to shampoo twice, so that's what I do. This product lathers well, and the pointed nozzle makes it easy to apply to every part of the scalp. (Note: I also switched to air drying, using cool air when blow-drying, and incorporated a cooling scalp tonic into my routine.) There's nothing particularly bad to mention! I have an oily scalp that tends to get greasy quickly, and while this doesn't leave my hair squeaky clean, it definitely reduces odor and greasiness. - sa******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDark CirclesRecommendedMar 29, 2025
I tried it once and it seems to leave less residue on my hair! I wanted to use it with my shampoo every time, but the amount is so small that it'll probably run out quickly. - se*********Dry SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMar 18, 2025
I always use this scaling product for scalp care, and it works wonders! It's so effective for keeping my scalp clean that I can't find any faults with it. However, if used too frequently, it might cause a slight burning sensation. - ch*****Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMar 7, 2025
I discovered this product on Hwahae and have been using it consistently ever since. It's great for my bleached hair, which tends to fall out easily when washing. It soothes my sensitive scalp, leaving it feeling refreshed. I love how cool it feels when applied to the scalp. After leaving it on for a while, I've noticed less hair fall. The best part is I don't need a separate shampoo - just massage it in to create a lather and rinse. It works hard to keep my scalp healthy! The price is a bit steep, I must admit. I wish it were a little more affordable. Before washing my hair, I apply it to my scalp and leave it on for about 30 minutes while I do other things. By the time I rinse, my scalp feels wonderfully cool and refreshed. - du*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 2, 2025
I love how it gives my scalp a deep cleansing feeling. It's possible to cleanse thoroughly without irritating the scalp. I bought this along with a tea tree product, but I think the tea tree one is better for deep cleansing! - st***********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 13, 2025
The cooling effect is refreshing, and it seems to cleanse the scalp thoroughly. It rinses out well and feels gentle on the skin. There's nothing disappointing about the product itself. However, the price feels a bit steep. Despite that, I'd like to repurchase it.
