It's the most hydrating sunscreen I've ever used in my life. I always apply this before makeup, and my skin gets such a glow... Its serum-like texture adheres to the skin beautifully, feeling fresh and lightweight. No itching or tingling at all. Sometimes sunscreens can really sting my eyes, but this one doesn't irritate my eyes or cause any facial itching. The hydration lasts for ages!
ConsIf I had to find a downside, the amount is really small. It might be a bit pricey for daily use, but it's perfect as a pre-makeup sunscreen!
TipDon't rub or smear it - just gently apply in the direction of your skin texture! It works wonderfully under makeup.

The texture is like a thin emulsion that applies moisturizing and absorbs without any stickiness, which I really liked. After application, it gives a subtle glow and feels lightweight, making it perfect as a base for cushion foundation. I'm considering purchasing it with my own money once I finish this one.
ConsThere wasn't really anything disappointing for me. If I had to pick something, maybe the price...? Haha!
TipI applied this after cleansing and using my basic skincare products. Then I topped it with any cushion foundation.

When you apply this sunscreen, you can feel an instant boost of hydration and a cooling sensation on your skin. What's more, when you apply makeup over this sunscreen, it gives a subtle glow (a fresh, healthy-looking glow) that allows for a dewy skin finish. I applied a thin layer of VDL foundation with a Piccasso spatula, then gently patted it with a puff, achieving a very natural, skin-like finish. It's an excellent pre-makeup sunscreen!
ConsIt's a bit disappointing that it doesn't brighten the complexion. I wish they would release a version that evens skin tone as well.
TipHighly recommended for use before applying makeup! Recommended for dry skin. I recommend this to anyone looking to achieve a glowing complexion.

Although it doesn't claim to have whitening effects, it naturally brightens and clarifies the skin tone a bit! I can definitely see why this is a Hwahae favorite⭐️ This sun serum is perfect for a dewy makeup look. If you apply this and then use a cushion foundation, your glow will be off the charts! The packaging is pretty, and I love how it applies thinly and lightly on the skin❤️ Oh, and I'm glad it didn't come in excessive packaging when delivered. The box size was just right❤️
ConsThe scent is... too strong... It smells like cosmetics... There's a strong lemon scent, but it's not just lemon, it's more like an old-fashioned cosmetic smell mixed with lemon...? While it provides hydration, there's really no moisturizing effect! The glow turns matte over time, so you need to apply your skincare products thoroughly before using this! Otherwise, your skin will become very dry quickly.
TipMake sure to apply your skincare thoroughly, and instead of using a glowy cushion, try a semi-matte cushion foundation for a more balanced glow~~

The reason I stick with it is because it works so well with my makeup. I was thrilled to hear that ESPOIR launched a sun essence with a similar texture. This product also has the advantage of applying transparently and thinly, just like you're putting on an essence. When you layer makeup on top, it doesn't pill, and over time it naturally adds a beautiful glow to your complexion.
ConsThis isn't a type that finishes with a matte feel. Those looking for a fresh finish in their sunscreen might be disappointed. The essence capsules in the formula might also feel a bit irritating to some. Personally, my biggest gripe is the fragrance. It seems ESPOIR just can't let go of adding scents. While it's not overpowering, I find the fragrance a bit overwhelming for my liking.
TipIf you apply more than the recommended amount, it might pill. Instead of layering multiple times, the trick is to spread the right amount evenly in one go.

The formula is quite unique. The combination of gel and capsules is intriguing. I've heard sunscreens are difficult to formulate, but Espoir always seems to create satisfying ones. As soon as you apply it, it feels incredibly hydrating with a slight cooling effect. When you first put on makeup, it gives a dewy glow. This effect seems to fade over time. The hydration level is so impressive that I think all skin types would enjoy it. It has a truly unique feel compared to other sunscreens I've tried. I like it so much that I'd definitely purchase it with my own money.
ConsWhile I'm very satisfied overall, the fragrance might be polarizing. I personally like the scent, but it's stronger than expected.
TipYou need to let it dry a bit before applying makeup. Otherwise, your makeup sponge might get sticky and unusable. Using disposable sponges makes application more comfortable!

This film creates a moisturizing effect, which is a plus for my dry skin. It's possible to achieve that coveted 'Inner Glow' look! Also, as someone with super sensitive skin, it didn't cause any blemishes and suited me well.
ConsBecause of the thin film that forms, you can't reapply it like sunscreen. It feels like it's pilling and becomes sticky. If you apply makeup over it, your makeup will pill as well. I might have had too high expectations for a sun essence, thinking it would feel lighter, but it seems I was a bit let down in that regard.

It's far more satisfying than their previous pink-bottled sunscreen famous for its dewy finish. True to its 'sun serum' name, it applies as smoothly as skincare, leaving no white cast. Highly recommended for those with dry skin who find most sunscreens drying! It seems perfect for all seasons except peak summer. It's similar to Skinfood's Berry Hydrating Sunscreen, but while Skinfood leaves a moisturized, non-greasy finish, Espoir gives a hydrated, healthy oil glow. Though I love the Skinfood sunscreen, I prefer Espoir's sun serum as it doesn't sting my eyelids. It pairs wonderfully with makeup, perfect for creating a glowy look! Even with my sensitive skin, I experienced no itching after use, which is fantastic. I'll definitely repurchase once it's officially released.
ConsThe glow might appear slightly oily, so if it feels too much, I recommend gently blotting with a tissue to reduce the shine!
TipIt really works well with makeup! If you couldn't use matte bases before, try applying this sun serum first - you'll achieve a slightly luminous semi-matte base look!
