The ultimate sunscreen for truly dry skin! It's the most hydrating sunscreen I've ever used in my life. I always apply this before makeup, and my skin gets such a glow... Its serum-like texture adheres to the skin beautifully, feeling fresh and lightweight. No itching or tingling at all. Sometimes sunscreens can really sting my eyes, but this one doesn't irritate my eyes or cause any facial itching. The hydration lasts for ages! If I had to find a downside, the amount is really small. It might be a bit pricey for daily use, but it's perfect as a pre-makeup sunscreen! Don't rub or smear it - just gently apply in the direction of your skin texture! It works wonderfully under makeup. - se*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRednessRecommendedMay 11, 2025
When I used to use the original Espoir sunscreen, my makeup would often crack. Even though it was moisturizing, this would happen no matter how much I let it absorb. I really liked this product because there was no pilling at all. I had to stop using it because my skin reacted badly after application. Contains fragrance, silicone, and alcohol. The sample size was perfect, so I don't have any particular complaints! I would consider repurchasing. None - ze******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 9, 2025
I love how it spreads easily with no thickness. True to its name as an acid serum, it's incredibly hydrating, almost like an essence. I think it's most suitable for use during the dry autumn to winter seasons. Sometimes I feel it gives too much shine. This might be because I often use glow-type foundations, so it feels unnecessarily glossy to me. I think I need to balance the natural luminosity of this product with other base makeup items. - tn******Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 8, 2025
I loved that it has a serum-like texture, so there's no sticky residue left after applying sunscreen. There wasn't anything particularly disappointing, but I hope they promote this product more widely. - db*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 5, 2025
I've been secretly using this alone, but I'm afraid it might be discontinued, so I'm quickly posting a review... Espoir is originally known as a makeup-focused brand, right? That's why I think they've created this sunscreen with a formula that allows makeup to adhere well and last longer! It has a gel-like texture that feels slightly cool and finishes light on thin skin! It's like applying a gel moisturizer, but it creates a non-sticky moisture barrier! Usually, when I use organic UV filter sunscreens, I dislike the slippery or slightly sticky film they form... But this one isn't sticky at all, so I find myself reaching for it often. I was definitely pleased with how smoothly my makeup went on when I used this as a base! There's not really anything to complain about with this product. It might pill if you apply too much, but it's not a type that's difficult to control the amount. - kh*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 2, 2025
I've tried all types of Espoir Water Splash Sun Care, from Fresh to Cica Tone-Up, and this is the new formula of their Water Splash sunscreen - it's a sun serum! As expected, Espoir's sun care is a holy grail product. The Water Splash line never disappoints! Using this new formula for the first time, I wondered, 'Did I really apply sunscreen? Or did I just do an amazing skincare routine?' For someone like me who only relies on nighttime skincare at home, sunscreen was always an outdoor essential. But this feels like a super hydrating essence, so I could use it at home for a moisturizing skincare step too! While I love the white cast of Cica Tone-Up, it feels like wearing makeup. This sun serum, however, gives a no-makeup look - like you've just applied a hydrating emulsion! The texture spreads so smoothly, making it easy to control the amount. It creates a moisture barrier that helps makeup adhere perfectly, preventing any deep dryness throughout the day! I've always loved Espoir Water Splash because it pairs well with base makeup, and this sun serum is no exception! I highly recommend it for those with dry or combination dehydrated skin who struggle with flaking or pilling base makeup. Some people mention pilling when reapplying, but if you gently pat it in to help the moisture capsules absorb, it works perfectly. It plays well with both cushions and foundations. I also love that it comes in a pump bottle, keeping the product clean and easy to use. This is a must-have product that I've used down to the last drop! Since it's a transparent serum type, you don't get that brightening effect you might expect after applying sunscreen, so makeup is a must. This could be seen as both a pro and a con. For men, the lack of tone-up or white cast might actually be preferable, making it easy to apply like an emulsion! There's a slight oiliness, but it's part of the moisturizing effect and doesn't feel bothersome. The skin feels comfortable, so it's all good! It gives a healthy, hydrated feeling! Apply it smoothly like a primer before makeup, and your base will glide on beautifully! Be careful not to reapply without letting it absorb first, as this can cause pilling. It's best to spread it gently. Avoid squeezing out too much at once! Apply it delicately to one cheek, then the other, then the forehead and nose - that's when you'll really see its true potential! - yu*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 25, 2025
I loved how lightweight it felt due to its moisturizing formula. It was a bit disappointing that it felt too greasy when applied generously. - ci*******Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 25, 2025
• Concentrated serum texture that doesn't run • As you apply, the particles dissolve, leaving skin hydrated • Feels moisturizing during application, then sets to a slightly dewy finish. This helps makeup adhere well and enhances skin appearance • Perfect for combination dehydrated skin in winter, providing satisfying hydration. However, in summer, it can feel a bit heavy under makeup due to its rich moisture • Slight eye irritation when applying, though it doesn't persist beyond application • The pump dispenser can be inconvenient if you accidentally pump too much, as it leaves residue on the bottle Applying a primer over this sun serum allows for a hydrated makeup application and improves overall complexion - jo*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessRecommendedApr 16, 2025
It's great to apply before a slightly matte foundation. The texture is like a thin gel, so it glides on smoothly. The finish is moisturizing but not sticky, which I really appreciate. For those with extremely dry skin, the hydration level might be a bit insufficient. - ki**********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 15, 2025
Most sunscreens cause blemishes for me, but this one didn't. The texture is decent, and the container is easy to use. It pills terribly when applied before makeup, so don't use it as a makeup base. Using a puff to apply reduces pilling.
