If you focus on a good skincare routine, this product seems to adhere well without separating. For those with oily skin, I highly recommend setting it with powder after application. If your blemish scars aren't too severe, this alone provides sufficient coverage!
ConsSometimes when I touch areas with pimples, it leaves scars, and I don't think this product's coverage is particularly strong for those. Also, it has a slightly matte finish, so it might not be suitable for those with dry skin!
TipFor a more polished look, try dabbing it onto your face with your fingertips and then gently patting it in with a cushion puff to finish!

It's incredibly velvety to the touch! The staying power is excellent~ Even though I have a lot of peach fuzz, it didn't accentuate it at all! My skin tends to get very dehydrated, but this didn't dry it out - it felt great!
ConsI did get some blemishes around my mouth, but they cleared up quickly! I tend to get product settling in my smile lines, but since this has a matte finish, it wasn't an issue!

I finally got to try it out. My skin tone is around 20-21, and Es** Vanilla matches me perfectly for a bright look. Color: For me, this shade doesn't brighten but provides natural coverage. It might suit those who usually use 21-22 shades and want a slightly lighter look. I applied it with a spatula. You need to control the amount carefully - it's easy to apply too thick. As expected from a foundation, it requires some technique. Texture: I expected a matte finish, but it's more between dewy and semi-matte. I applied it after thoroughly absorbing my skincare and sunscreen, and it's definitely not a fully matte formula. Wear: After long hours, it doesn't break down noticeably. It doesn't settle into pores much, which I'm quite satisfied with. For summer use, powder might be essential. Value for money: While not perfect, considering how foundation and cushion prices have increased, this still offers great value. [Additional review] It definitely fades cleanly without clumping when it breaks down. Rather than using a spatula, applying thin layers with a thin foundation brush, patting with a puff, and adding another layer if needed seems to work best.
ConsIf you're looking for a matte finish, you absolutely need to use this with powder.
TipApply it thinly, very thinly!

Applies thinly (lighter formula => easy to apply in thin layers, reducing the heavy feeling) 2. Great fixing power (thin formula sets without drying or lifting, creating a flawless base) 3. Long-lasting (for combination dehydrated skin, base looks good from 8 AM to 3 PM without touch-ups => transforms from semi-matte to a subtle glowing base over time)
Cons1. Shade runs light (can be used as a highlighter) 2. Coverage is not particularly high (thin formula means weaker coverage for red scars and dark circles, but decent for pores due to its absorbing nature) 3. Semi-matte finish can lead to dryness (dry, normal & combination dehydrated skin in fall/winter may experience dryness and flaking over time)
TipDefinitely a formula best suited for spring and summer. For dry and normal skin types, use a slightly richer moisturizer as a base. For combination dehydrated and oily skin, apply multiple thin layers of a hydrating base for a plump skin texture. Then, apply an extremely thin layer of foundation and pat it in with a damp makeup sponge (using water, makeup fixer, or mist) multiple times. This technique creates a long-lasting base that looks just like your natural skin but better.

Color: Personally, I prefer a pink-based foundation over yellow, and this one comes in 6 shades. The ivory color is particularly pretty! Packaging: Even before the redesign, I knew about this product's longevity from a YouTuber's rave review. The new version looks much brighter, prettier, and more sophisticated. The pump dispenses just the right amount for one application, which is great. The cap closes with a satisfying click, so you don't have to worry about leaks. Skincare Ingredients: It contains 66% skincare ingredients including moisture, bakuchiol, panthenol, 5 types of ceramides, collagen, biosaccharide gum, and madecassoside, which makes it feel quite hydrating. Semi-matte Finish: It's not as matte as I expected, with a subtle glow. The texture gives a semi-matte, skin-like finish. Longevity: As an 'ink' foundation, it's supposed to adhere closely to the skin like ink, maintaining flawless coverage all day. I found the longevity to be average. Application: It applies quite thinly. Works really well with a spatula. Price: It's priced in the early 20,000 won range, which seems about average for foundations. However, it's a shame that The Face Shop has fewer physical stores now, making it harder to purchase offline.
ConsFeels Heavy: For some reason, it feels a bit heavy on the skin. I'm not sure if there's an ingredient that doesn't agree with me. It might be due to the matte finish. Skin Breakout: I usually have clear skin and rarely experience breakouts, but this caused my skin to react. I'm not certain if it was solely due to this product, but it made my skin itchy and bumpy. Some people might find it doesn't suit their skin. Settles into Lines: It tends to settle into wrinkles. While it's semi-matte, it still has quite a bit of glow for that finish.
TipIt's super easy to apply - just pump once, spread it with a spatula, and then pat it in with a large puff. I highly recommend getting a large puff - you can find them at Olive Young too!

Scent & Color: The fragrance is quite standard for cosmetics, so it didn't cause any discomfort. The shade is suitable for those who usually use #21, though it could be a bit brighter. As a cool-toned person with redness, I typically use yellow-based products, but this wasn't too light or floating on my skin. Its pink base would look radiant and pretty on cool-toned individuals without redness. 2. Coverage: While not heavy, it does conceal redness well. It's ideal for those who prefer natural coverage rather than full coverage. Personally, I find this level of coverage perfect as heavy coverage can look suffocating. For those with blemishes, severe dark spots, or acne scars, I'd recommend using a concealer alongside this. 3. Application & Skin Appearance: It applies thinly without needing special tools, though a spatula would make it even thinner. While it's noticeable that you're wearing foundation, it doesn't look heavy or suffocating on the skin due to its light coverage and smooth application. 4. Longevity: The staying power is good, lasting well in cool weather with minimal darkening. When it does wear off, it doesn't break down messily. It becomes slightly dewy without caking or creasing. 5. Skin Feel: As someone with sensitive skin, I often experience itching and burning with incompatible products. Fortunately, while there was slight itching, I didn't experience any severe discomfort or skin irritation.
Cons1. Skin Appearance: While it doesn't look too light or float on the skin, the finish isn't entirely natural. It's obvious you're wearing foundation, which might be disappointing if you're after a very natural look. 2. Texture & Dryness: The formula is somewhat runny and sets to a semi-matte finish. Initially, it gives a dewy glow, but it can emphasize dead skin cells and may look patchy on dry areas like cheeks and forehead. While it doesn't cause severe deep dryness, those with dry skin might need extra hydration or to mix in a serum to prevent tightness. 3. Adherence: The adherence is average. It doesn't stick perfectly to the skin and feels slightly like it's sitting on top, though it doesn't transfer excessively. 4. Touch-ups: Due to its light coverage, touch-ups are necessary. However, you need to be careful to avoid caking. The foundation can bunch up during touch-ups, possibly due to oil breakthrough. For clean touch-ups, wipe off any excess oil or product from dry, patchy areas before reapplying.
Tip1. If you need stronger coverage, definitely use a concealer alongside this foundation. 2. While it applies thinly even without a spatula, using one to apply multiple thin layers could improve coverage. 3. If your skin tends to get patchy with base makeup, try mixing in a serum or pay extra attention to your skincare routine. 4. When touching up, make sure to gently wipe away any excess oil or product from patchy areas before reapplying for a smoother finish.

Perfect shade for Light 21 with deep undertone - Pink base lovers, rejoice! 2. Long-lasting without darkening - Maintains its fresh look all day! 3. This quality at this price point? Definitely repurchasing! Detailed Review: Refer to the Hwahae Testers section for skin type and skincare routine tips! Why I chose this product: As the weather warmed up, my usual glowy foundation started looking a bit too dewy. Though I have dry skin, I was searching for an affordable semi-matte/matte foundation for spring and summer when I came across this event. Ideal tone-up for Light 21: I often wear light-colored tops, especially white tees and shirts in spring and summer. Using a foundation too close to my natural skin tone can make my face look dull. This foundation gives just the right amount of brightening when applied in thin layers, making my complexion look radiant. If you have slightly yellow-toned skin but prefer a pink base, you'll love this! No darkening, no breakdown - Excellent staying power: One of the biggest concerns when buying base makeup is 'darkening'. It's so disappointing when your makeup looks perfect at first but turns dull after a while. Comparing how it looked from when I left for work to when I got home, I was very satisfied with this foundation. It maintains its semi-matte finish and color well, even without using a separate primer! And it's only in the $20 range? No reason not to repurchase! I've been disappointed by high-end brands before, but at this price point, with this level of satisfaction, I'm definitely repurchasing the Ink Lasting Foundation when I run out. I'll be buying it with my own money next time! I could buy 3 of these for the price of one of my previous foundations!
ConsAreas for Improvement (Keywords): - Dry skin types need solid skincare prep! Morning skincare routine might take extra time: This foundation definitely has a semi-matte/matte finish. If you have dry skin, it's crucial to prep your skin well before application. This might add some time to your busy morning routine, which could be a downside. However, it's not a difficult foundation to work with - it's easy to control and blends well. Tip: Try using it with a damp hydro sponge! Recommended for spring and summer use - make the most of it this season! * While I was very satisfied with the product, I've tried to point out potential drawbacks to help others. Hope this helps!
TipSkin Type and Personal Color: - Uses shade 20~21, deep undertone (Spring Soft) - Combination dehydrated skin: oily around the nose, but very dry elsewhere Makeup Routine and Application Method: Skincare: Toner pad - Serum-in-emulsion (cream-like toner) - Hydrating cream - Ceramide cream - Sunscreen (watery type) *On extremely dry days, I also used a hydrating base, but didn't notice a significant difference in the foundation's performance. Application Tools: Spatula, damp hydro sponge, concealer brush - Apply a thin layer using 1 pump with a spatula - Pat with a damp sponge for better adherence - Use a concealer brush to add an extra thin layer on dark circles and areas with pigmentation around the nose

I used the V201 product, which was slightly brighter than my complexion, enabling a radiant skin appearance. A little goes a long way. Applying with a spatula worked better than using fingers. As the product name suggests, applying it thinly made my skin look better. While it does provide coverage, it's a bit on the lighter side. The staying power was impressive.
ConsAlthough the staying power was good, it feels a bit matte. Other than that, I didn't really find any drawbacks.
TipIf you hydrate well with your skincare products before application, your skin will look even more beautiful.

Excellent coverage, especially for pores. The shade is a true 21, neither too light nor too dark. Seems more hydrating than the pre-renewal version. No issues with dead skin cells flaking.
ConsDisappointing in terms of darkening and longevity. The pre-renewal version was a bit more matte, which seemed to last longer on my skin.
TipRecommended for combination dehydrated to dry skin rather than oily skin. I've attached comparison photos with other foundations in shade 21 light undertone for reference.

I received the product for free, but I'll give an honest review. The writer has shade 22 oily skin type! Regarding the color: I have shade 22 skin, which isn't particularly light, but The Face Shop's Apricot Beige seemed to brighten my complexion by about half a shade. It has a yellow base with a slight grayish undertone - perhaps what you'd call a BB cream color? Is Apricot Beige the only shade available? Texture and application: It's not a dewy foundation, but rather a matte one. You need to apply skincare thoroughly to prevent it from looking patchy. Even though I have oily skin, the foundation's matte finish caused some patchiness. While it is matte, it doesn't set immediately and applies thinly and smoothly. Longevity: As time passed, I noticed some darkening, so I didn't feel like it made my skin look particularly radiant. Rather than the foundation breaking down, I experienced some settling into nose creases and fine lines.
ConsI didn't feel this foundation had any significant advantages. The color was a bit ambiguous, and issues like settling into nose creases made me think that being matte and being dry are two different things. While I found it somewhat disappointing, I think it might be reasonable considering its price point. I wish they would offer a wider range of shades.
TipBecause it's matte, make sure to apply a thorough skincare routine before applying the foundation!
