I bought just the refill to test it out, but ended up purchasing the full product. Despite containing stearic acid, dimethicone, and PEG, surprisingly, it didn't cause any itching, tingling, or blemishes. The formula is easy to apply thinly and covers pores well, whether you use a spatula or the puff. For a cushion, it has amazing adherence like a foundation. It doesn't transfer much or break apart. The heart-shaped puff fits perfectly under the eyes and on the butterfly zone, while the pointed end is great for applying around the nose. Over time, even on oily areas like the nose tip or forehead, the base seems to fade rather than get messy. There's no clumping around textured areas, no breakdown, and no clogged pores. Though it's not an ultra-dewy formula, it layers smoothly without patchiness or visible edges, even with quick touch-ups. It looked decent even after 17 hours, at dawn. I hate when base makeup settles into pores leaving white spots, but this doesn't do that at all. It adhered well to my butterfly zone and forehead without lifting (except on extremely flaky days). Even my chin and between brows, areas prone to whiteheads, maintained coverage without emphasizing sebum. Smile lines are my own wrinkle issue, unavoidable with any base, but this cushion minimized them better than others I've tried. Blending with the morning's puff often helps. Unlike the brand's Teint Couture, which has a powder-in-water texture that sets instantly like ink, this product is easier to blend for those of us with lots of pores and dead skin cells. The N95 shade is a beige tone that effectively neutralizes redness from rosacea and acne scars, matching my natural skin tone well. It's slightly yellow-based, but not as intensely as NARS' yellow-based shades. As someone with a 21.5-22 shade range and uneven skin tone, I found this color satisfying for coverage. While it might be slightly less brightening, it looks natural and doesn't create a floating effect with the neck. A light-colored powder finish adds just the right amount of radiance. It doesn't feel thick or like 'obvious makeup', yet provides medium to medium-high coverage, making it suitable to use without concealer. The finish is somewhere between semi-matte and semi-glow. It's perfect for my combination dehydrated skin, as overly matte products emphasize texture, while too glowy ones are terrible for oily areas.
ConsIt's difficult to purchase the case separately. The design might be polarizing, though it grows on you over time. Some might experience deep dryness. It's best suited for oily and combination dehydrated skin types looking for a subtle inner glow. Occasionally, when my skin is in poor condition, it might cause a couple of small blemishes.
TipThe case and refill are compatible with Givenchy Teint Couture cushion. Interestingly, the pore coverage and overall skin appearance were better maintained when used alone, without primer or fixer.
