I was looking to buy an eyelash serum and came across a set that included both a clear and a black serum. I thought using them together would be beneficial, so I decided to purchase it. What attracted me most was that the black serum could be used as a mascara alternative. I was hoping it would be less irritating than regular mascara while still helping my lashes grow longer. First off, I experienced no eye irritation whatsoever, and it was easy to remove. My eyes felt very comfortable throughout use. Even after long hours out and about, it didn't smudge at all. Using both the clear and black serums together, I noticed my lashes became stronger and less prone to falling out! Due to my straight lashes, the curling effect wasn't as strong as I'd hoped. After curling my lashes and applying the black serum, they would droop not long after. I found a workaround by curling my lashes, applying the black serum, letting it dry slightly until my lashes stiffened, and then curling again. This improved the curl retention, but it still didn't match the effect of a regular mascara. Since it's essentially a serum, I didn't expect it to curl and lengthen as well as a mascara would. Knowing this in advance, I was quite satisfied with its performance. I think this product would be perfect for those who've had lash perms or extensions! I tried this because I find removing eye makeup a hassle, and as a student, regular mascara feels a bit too much. While most mascaras aren't great for lashes, this one's actually a lash treatment. Since it's primarily a lash treatment, it comes off a bit too easily, which is somewhat disappointing. Doesn't clump and I recommend using it as a set with the clear essence (there's a great value set of 2 at Olive Young for around 15,000 won). I use this instead of mascara after getting a lash lift. It doesn't irritate or sting my eyes. The price is fantastic - I've repurchased it several times after using it up or losing it. It comes off easily with foam cleanser. When I got my lash lift, the salon owner recommended using this black lash serum instead of mascara, and it really doesn't damage my lashes. Especially after a lash lift, using an eyelash curler + mascara + eye makeup remover can really break and damage your lashes when you rub them off. You can't see how much product is left. I wish the brush was thinner and more precise. When applying additional coats, let it dry a bit between layers like you would with mascara.

It doesn't leave any color stains on the skin if accidentally applied, unlike mascara. The brush has a curved shape, perfect for mascara application. It's an excellent product to use after an eyelash perm. The effect isn't noticeable with just one application. You need to apply, let it dry, and reapply about three times to achieve a natural-looking lash darkness. A lash serum that looks like mascara?! My surprising experience with a black eyelash enhancer After only using clear lash serums, I tried a black-colored product for the first time and was amazed at how practical it was! Initially, I wondered, 'Why does a lash serum have color?' But once I used it, I was astonished to find it could easily double as mascara. The natural color tint makes your lashes look defined without needing separate mascara. It's super convenient for work or going out. The best part is that unlike regular mascara, it's not stiff or heavy. It applies lightly while nourishing your lashes - that's its biggest advantage. It caused no irritation even when it got in my eyes, making it suitable for sensitive eyes. With consistent use, I noticed my short lashes gradually growing. It defines not just the upper lashes but the lower ones too, giving that 'full lash' look naturally. If I had to point out a downside, the volume is a bit small. Since I regularly get eyelash extensions, I avoid mascara because it's difficult to remove. I used to be bothered when my extensions would thin out over time, making my lashes look sparse. But since using this black lash serum, my lashes definitely appear fuller and beautifully curled, so I've been using it religiously. I love that I don't have to go through the hassle of removing eye makeup - it's such a relief! I'll definitely keep repurchasing this product. There are absolutely no downsides. I just hope it doesn't get discontinued. The value for money is quite good too. While it's primarily a lash serum, its black color makes it perfect for those 'no-foundation' days when you want a natural look. I'm not sure if this is normal for mascaras since I don't usually wear them, but it felt a bit uncomfortable on my eyes. Curious about its smudge-proof claims, I actually cried to test it out, and unfortunately, it did smudge.

The brush was bigger than I expected, which made application a bit tricky. It's a slightly translucent black color. It also has serum-like benefits. It was a bit challenging to use because of its sticky texture. I love that I can use this instead of mascara! If you don't cleanse thoroughly, you might feel like there's some residue left on your skin. You can easily apply it with just a few quick swipes.
