I've been dealing with severe skin inflammation, causing intense heat and redness in my skin - it was so bad I had to take medication. During the worst of it, I'd keep this product in the fridge and then apply it like a face mask all over for about 20 minutes before rinsing. It really helped calm the burning sensation. It's fantastic for soothing the skin and cooling effects. There's a reason why this aloe product is number one! Now that I'm on medication, my skin has improved, but I still use this consistently like a mask whenever my skin flares up or my skin barrier is compromised. After rinsing it off and following up with my skincare routine, it really helps calm things down. I absolutely love it! While it's truly great, don't sleep with it on... I'm not sure about applying it after completing your full skincare routine, but if you just apply this alone and go to sleep, it actually makes your skin dry and worsens its condition. You can get this beast of a bottle at a pretty good price when it's on sale. Among aloe gels from other brands, this one doesn't pill and absorbs quickly! I do an aloe mask every day, and right after, I can feel my whiteheads and blemishes calming down! If you're not doing a daily mask routine like me, the large volume might take a while to use up after opening. I use this as a face mask to reduce facial heat, and it's so cooling and wonderful! Everyone's skin is different, so if aloe doesn't suit you, you might experience some blemishes. I recommend testing it first before buying! I saw great results on my uneven skin texture! I don't think there were any downsides! However, I wish it had been effective on my small bumps. I'm not sure if it actually helps with those or not. I like how it seems to tackle deep dryness when applied. It's also great that it's alcohol-free. I have seborrheic dermatitis, sensitive combination dehydrated skin, and small bumps. I used this mask hoping to reduce redness, but it actually increased the redness and made my dermatitis worse. I usually tolerate aloe well, so I didn't expect it not to suit me. I think either this product just doesn't work for me, or my skin is currently too sensitive with a compromised barrier. I felt a slight tingling sensation when I applied it, so I only left it on for about 10 minutes before washing it off. If you've been diagnosed with dermatitis and are considering an aloe mask because aloe usually works for you, I'd suggest either patch testing a tiny amount or avoiding it altogether. It might be better to stick with barrier repair creams. I know many people dealing with dermatitis might be tempted to try an aloe mask out of frustration, but please be cautious.
