I love that it doesn't feel thick on the skin or leave any noticeable residue! Scent - As someone with allergies, I can't smell much. It's not an intense fragrance. With my allergies, I usually only detect about 60% of scents, but I can smell strong ones. If I really like a scent, even with allergies I'll follow it around sniffing, but this wasn't that kind of scent. Container & Packaging - I like that it comes in a tube with a hard spout like foundation, allowing for easy control. It's light and convenient to carry around and apply. It's quite pink! Since it's still winter/spring, they've emphasized warm colors over freshness. No other particular thoughts on the packaging! Pros: 1. It's not slippery. There's a bit of the typical sunscreen oiliness, but much less than other products! 2. No eye irritation 3. Noticeably less drying. Even though it's winter and dry, it feels less dry even after a few hours. Less oiliness too. Less stickiness as well. 4. Works well with foundation. Didn't feel like it was sliding off or dispersing. Any caking is just my skin's natural tendency... 5. No white cast and it's so light that you can apply a lot without feeling burdened. This is its best feature!
ConsCons: Compared to the previous Round Lab Moisturizing Sun Cream, it stung slightly. Maybe due to the brightening properties? On second thought, it's probably just my sensitive eye area! The Moisturizing Sun Cream had no special properties but felt thicker when applied. While I miss that, the Camellia feels lighter but seems less hydrating. No other cons!
TipI layer this sun essence with foundation. In winter, fall, or dry seasons, applying a layer of hydrating serum or mist before will help reduce dryness. A moisturizing cream might be too creamy. Instead of mixing with foundation, I recommend boosting hydration with a light mist!

I've always struggled with heavy sunscreens that feel suffocating and flatten my look, even over a hydrating base. So I was on the hunt for a lightweight option when I came across this - and wow, was I impressed! I'm 300% ready to repurchase! For context, I have combination dehydrated skin with redness and excess oil. First off, true to its 'sun serum' name, it's incredibly hydrating! I've tried various 'dewy' sunscreens, but most end up looking like an oil slick after a while, leaving me with greasy hair and a shiny face - a total disaster. This product, however, provides healthy, moisturized skin without the excess shine. It works great on its own and plays well under cushion foundation without any pilling. Another reason I used to hate sunscreen was the heavy, suffocating feeling and the way it clogged my pores. But this product applies smoothly and feels refreshing, making me reach for it often. It's perfect for building a consistent sun protection habit (which is crucial for anti-aging!).
ConsOne minor concern: occasionally, there's a slight tingling sensation after application. It happened when my skin was particularly sensitive, but it wasn't too bothersome.
TipThe excellent absorption makes it great for double application.

When I use products with incompatible ingredients, I get folliculitis in my T-zone and a festival of pustular and nodular acne on my cheeks. 💗Application & Absorption: As my skin is usually sensitive, I've only used physical sunscreens before. This is my first time trying a sun serum, and I must say, the serum texture applies smoothly and absorbs quickly, which I really like. 💗Makeup-friendly: When I apply foundation over this, it seems to enhance makeup application due to its hydrating effect. There's no pilling, so it works great as a base product.
Cons🙅🏻♀️Slightly Drying: Perhaps because my nose area and U-zone become extremely dry in winter, I noticed it felt a bit dry and started to separate after a few hours. This might be fine with a good skincare routine underneath. 🙅🏻♀️Folliculitis: I tend to get folliculitis when using products that irritate my skin. Either due to the whitening vitamin ingredients or the chemical sunscreen itself, I experienced some folliculitis in my T-zone and a slight tingling sensation all over right after application.
TipAs this is a chemical sunscreen product, make sure to apply it at least 30 minutes before going outside. For those with sensitive skin, physical sunscreens tend to be less irritating than chemical ones, so I recommend patch testing before use.

Thanks to this, I thought it's great for winter use without causing dryness. The texture gives a slight cooling sensation when applied, which is refreshing. The long, narrow nozzle makes it easy to control the amount you use.
ConsWhen my face was in the midst of a blemish outbreak (not caused by this product), it inevitably stung a bit when applied. However, given that my skin was essentially in a wounded state, there was no way to avoid this. The formula is lightweight and compatible with most skin types, so I think I could recommend it to anyone.

This makes it easy to dispense smoothly without sudden bursts, allowing for better control of the amount used. ✔️ Scent: When tested on the back of the hand, it seemed almost unscented. However, when applied to the face, there's a very subtle floral fragrance that disappears after absorption. ✔️ Texture: True to its name as a sun serum, it combines sunscreen and serum properties. It applies with a very hydrating feel, and as it absorbs, the initially moist texture transforms into a firming, elastic finish. It doesn't feel sticky or heavy, and absorbs quickly, which is great. ✔️ Application/Feel: It feels like a hydrating sun serum with a cooling sensation. The product page reveals it contains micro-cooling capsules to lower skin temperature. Comparing before and after use, you can immediately see a reduction in redness around the cheeks. Despite its transforming texture from moist to firm, it's not heavy or sticky at all, absorbing well and leaving the skin with a radiant glow that actually improves its appearance. ✔️ Although it's a sun protection product, being a sun serum means there's no white cast or tone-up effect. It's perfect for daily use, absorbs quickly, and is easy to apply. ✔️ Even when applying a generous amount, it absorbs quickly. While it has a hydrating texture, it doesn't interfere with the next steps in your base makeup routine, which is great.
Cons✔️ Despite being a hydrating and firming sun serum, it might feel slightly dry around the nose and cheeks if used alone after just toner pads. ✔️ Seems incompatible with whitening and vitamin products. When used with other hydrating ampoules or creams, there were no issues. However, when applied after my usual whitening or vitamin serums/ampoules, it caused a tingling sensation all over the face. This sensation doesn't last long, but it consistently occurs when used with whitening or vitamin products. Despite the tingling, it didn't cause any blemishes, but it just doesn't seem to work well with whitening and vitamin products.
Tip✔️ As a quickly absorbing sun serum, it can be generously applied to the neck without feeling heavy. It works great with matte foundations, creating an Inner Glow effect that makes it compatible with semi-matte and matte base products!
