This is likely due to its high moisture content, which requires a bit more time to be fully absorbed by the skin. I typically use one pump on each cheek, and when I want extra hydration, I'll layer it twice. Even with layering, it doesn't feel heavy and doesn't cause pilling when applying makeup. While it might not seem obvious on the back of your hand, you can clearly see that the treated area becomes less oily and more hydrated! I've been using this product for over 3 bottles, and I've never seen anything like it. ๐ฅน๐ฅน Even when my skin was flipped over, applying the toner and just this product before bed resulted in my skin being in the best condition the next day. The product is lightweight and can be used day or night, and it's great because it has very little oil content. It's a pump-based product, so it's hygienic. The absorption is also quite good.
