I stumbled upon this product while it was on sale, and I'm thrilled to say that everything about it - from its ingredients to how it applies and absorbs - is simply fantastic. As a woman in her 40s with dry and super sensitive skin, I often struggle with loss of elasticity and dryness. Plus, if I use the wrong product, the area around my nose and upper lip tends to get red and irritated. But this product has exceeded all my expectations! It has a runny consistency, almost like an essence, but I love that it comes in a toner bottle, so I can use it as part of my toner step. What's great is that it doesn't sit on top of the skin or feel greasy, even in summer, making it perfect for year-round use. There's nothing I dislike about this product! I just hope they keep offering discounts and don't discontinue it. The product works hard to address multiple skin concerns simultaneously. It hydrates well, absorbs quickly, and doesn't cause any irritation or redness. It's especially suitable for those with combination dehydrated skin or those looking to even out their complexion. The lightweight texture makes it ideal for layering in your skincare routine, helping to achieve that coveted Inner Glow without any stickiness or pilling. - im********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedApr 16, 2025
The slightly thick texture provides a noticeable moisturizing effect for dry skin. I also appreciate that it's nearly fragrance-free. While it might not be quite enough as a toner for the dead of winter, I think it would work well for dry skin from now through the height of summer. So far, I don't have any particular complaints. The packaging is attractive, and it seems to be a good toner for seasonal transitions. - hu*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRednessRecommendedMar 7, 2025
It's moisturizing enough to use in place of an emulsion. The essence has a slightly thick, runny consistency, and while it feels a bit slippery when applied, it absorbs quickly into the skin. I tried this Enriched version because I liked the regular essence from the same line. While there's no dramatic effect, it doesn't cause any blemishes or pimples, so I'm using it without any issues. The bottle is quite heavy, and the screw-top lid is a bit inconvenient to open. - os******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 21, 2024
It has a rich, nourishing texture that feels deeply hydrating. I love that it's fragrance-free and seems to really moisturize my skin! There's not much to dislike, but I wish it came in a larger pump bottle. Unscrewing the lid can be a bit of a hassle. Apply immediately after cleansing your face. - ru*****Normal SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 19, 2024
It has a viscous, gel-like texture that absorbs quickly when applied right after cleansing and using an exfoliating toner. It provides great hydration too. In summer, this alone with a moisturizer is enough. It works even better for 30-40 year old skin compared to younger skin. I have combination-oily skin, so I layer it with a moisturizer. However, it might be best to avoid this during the oily summer months. - pa******Dry SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMar 11, 2024
I absolutely adore The First Essence, but with winter approaching, I was looking for something even more hydrating. That's when I tried the Enriched version, and I'm thrilled! It provides significantly better hydration while maintaining the same lovely texture as The First. It's wonderfully moisturizing yet feels light, making it perfect for both morning and evening use. My complexion has noticeably brightened too! There's not much to complain about, honestly. The bottle is a tad heavy, and the opening is quite narrow, so you need to give it a good shake to get the product out. - tn*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedFeb 13, 2024
+ It's not heavy, even for oily skin (I layer this alone in winter) + It has brightening and anti-wrinkle effects + The container is a bit heavy + I wish it had more hydration I use this with ampoules when doing a modeling mask! Hoping for extra moisture - ce********Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 11, 2023
This is perfect for those over 30. When I was in my 20s, it felt like it just sat on my skin and I wasn't impressed. But now, repurchasing it after a long time, I'm absolutely in love. The ingredients are great according to Hwahae, and it really improves skin elasticity. It's not the best for summer use, but it's truly fantastic for all other seasons. Keep it in your bathroom and apply it immediately after showering, just like you would with a toner. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinDec 2, 2023
Strangely, when I apply this, my face feels hot and develops red patches in certain areas. It doesn't seem to suit sensitive skin. In general, I've found all of Missha's moisturizing products to be disappointing. Oddly enough, when I put this on, my face heats up and becomes red in spots. It doesn't appear to be compatible with sensitive skin. This purchase was a total letdown. - wa******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityNov 14, 2023
This has a bit more hydration than Missha's The First Essence Original. However, that's really the only standout feature I noticed. It's quite pricey for a drugstore brand. I'd recommend waiting for a buy-one-get-one-free deal or a sale before purchasing. Given its performance, I probably won't be repurchasing this product.
