After washing my hair and towel drying, I focused on applying this to the areas where my scalp felt bare. Since it has an oil layer, I made sure to shake it well before using the dropper to apply it to my scalp. It absorbed nicely into my scalp, and I could feel it delivering hydration and nourishment. The fragrance was a subtle, natural herbal scent that I found quite pleasant. Despite containing oil, it didn't feel greasy at all - instead, it left my scalp feeling fresh and moisturized. I experienced no irritation on my scalp. I go through this product rather quickly. I wish they'd offer a larger size, and it might be better with a different type of applicator instead of the dropper.

It's much lighter than the previously mentioned Scalp Night Serum, which made it pleasant to use. However, the 4ml sample was too small to really gauge its effectiveness. It's not sticky or greasy, and it didn't cause any blemishes on my scalp, so I'm considering giving it a try. If I get another sample, I'd like to use it more before making a final judgment. Unlike Aveda products, this one has an oil layer, which seems to make it separate more quickly. Still, it's much better than the Scalp Night Serum that caused scalp acne. L'Occitane's shake-before-use products with oil layers don't seem to agree with me at all (like their Tri-Phase products).

I love it! It provides moisture to the scalp while controlling excess sebum, making it feel like I'm losing less hair. The subtle, natural fragrance is delightful and uplifting, not artificial at all. If you're looking for a scalp serum, I highly recommend this one! I'm not a big fan of products with separate layers. While it looks pretty, having to shake it every time before use is a bit of a hassle for a lazy person like me.
