I've been using this since it came in the purple bottle, as it was said to be great for makeup application. It really seems to help my makeup adhere well. The texture feels watery but with a slight viscosity, and it leaves a slightly sticky finish. Usually, I'm not a fan of sticky finishes, but I've noticed that skincare products with a bit of tackiness tend to make makeup last longer. So I've continued using it, and I feel like it's improving my makeup wear. I'm on my second bottle now, and I plan to keep using it since it's reliable and seems to help with dead skin cells too! There's not really anything I dislike about it. I typically use this toner in the morning, but on days when I'm not wearing makeup, I notice my skin feels a bit sticky. So on those days, I use a different toner instead. This is just because I'm particularly averse to sticky textures on my skin. When I use this toner before applying makeup, it seems to help with dead skin cells and creates a smooth canvas for foundation, making it adhere better to my skin. - k2********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRecommendedMay 27, 2025
A reliable product that initially helped reduce small bumps on my skin. As advertised, it almost completely eliminates flaky dead skin cells, and I've never experienced makeup pilling, even in winter. If you're concerned about your makeup not sitting well, try layering this toner 3-4 times followed by an appropriate amount of moisturizer. It definitely helps reduce pilling! Highly recommended! Nothing particularly negative to mention! It's a solid, dependable product. I've never experienced any adverse reactions while using it, so even those with super sensitive skin might want to give it a try. If it works well for you, it could become a staple in your routine! This toner seems to be particularly effective for addressing skin texture issues and improving makeup application. Its gentle formula makes it suitable for a wide range of skin types, including those with sensitive skin. The layering technique suggested could be especially beneficial for those struggling with dry or dehydrated skin, helping to boost hydration and create a smooth canvas for makeup. - cl********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 18, 2025
Life Toner💗 My skin has been feeling rough and dull lately, and my makeup hasn't been applying well. But ever since I switched toners, it's felt like I'm walking around with a fried egg on my face. The formulation is not a refreshing one, and it is just slightly difficult to absorb. - ye*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessRednessRecommendedMay 1, 2025
Skin type: Sensitive + Dry. My skin is so sensitive that it breaks out immediately if I apply just anything. Purchase motivation: I heard amazing things about the No. 4 toner pads from Numbuzin, but since I prefer using liquid toners over pads, I decided to try this. Pros: Now I understand why it's called a 'makeup-friendly' toner! A few seconds after application, my skin feels so smooth - it really does make makeup adhere well. If you layer it 3-4 times with small amounts, your makeup will stay put all day long. My skin feels comfortable throughout the day. On important days, if you layer it and give it enough time to absorb, your skin will feel comfortable all day, and when you apply cushion or foundation, your skin will look incredibly good! I think this toner would work well for all skin types - dry, combination, combination dehydrated, and oily. I bought two and share with my sister who has extremely oily skin, and even she loves it, saying it makes her makeup adhere so well! I believe all skin types can use this comfortably. However, this product isn't particularly effective for eliminating blemishes or providing special care. Also, the absorption isn't great when you first apply it. I found a solution though - I bought a foam dispenser bottle from Daiso for 1500 won, and when I use it with that, it applies smoothly and absorbs quickly! So I guess that's a con that became a pro. Despite this minor issue, I still recommend it because even when you're in a rush in the morning and hastily apply makeup, it allows for a beautiful complexion. I recommend getting a foam dispenser bottle from Daiso to use with this product. It improves the absorption and saves time! - 2z********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 31, 2025
I tried this because I heard it works well with makeup, and it's definitely good! I didn't experience any blemishes. My skin type is combination dehydrated. There wasn't really anything disappointing about it. However, I think it might not be great for oily skin types...? - 6w********Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedMar 2, 2025
It's great to use this like a water pad by soaking a cotton pad the night before applying makeup. It really helps the makeup adhere well. Perhaps because it's a toner, it dries quickly when applied, making it essential to follow up with a cream. For convenience, you can transfer it to an empty spray bottle. It's so easy and effective to use as a mist. - a1******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 28, 2025
I highly recommend this product as it's great for soothing the skin and absorbs well. The water-like texture makes it easy to apply. While the packaging design could be more user-friendly, the product itself is quite usable. Apart from that minor inconvenience, everything else about it is satisfactory. - pr*************Dry SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRecommendedFeb 27, 2025
This is truly a Hwahae favorite! While the scent isn't exceptional, it's perfectly fine. Apply this before makeup and you won't have any pilling issues. Definitely worth buying! The downside might be the fragrance? It's not great, but it's not bad enough to be a deal-breaker. It's just okay. Pro tip: Keep it in the fridge, then soak a cotton pad and apply it to your face for a refreshing treat! - we************Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessRecommendedFeb 22, 2025
Layering it multiple times helps combat deep dryness to some extent There's nothing particularly bad... However, a single application won't address deep dryness; you need to apply it several times - ki**********Dry SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedFeb 19, 2025
The thermal spring water seems to agree well with sensitive skin. Even with my extremely dry skin, it didn't make my makeup look cakey. It's truly a holy grail toner that my skin drinks up! I'm on my second bottle now, haha! There wasn't anything to complain about. The application feels great and I didn't experience any blemishes.
