On days when my skin was red and irritated, I kept this in the fridge and used it. You can really feel the cooling effect! It seems great for soothing the skin. While you can feel a temporary hydration and cooling effect, after a while, your skin becomes so dry it feels tight. Is this typical of aloe gel products? I never applied it to my face, just on my body. The cooling effect is also short-lived, leaving you feeling a bit uncomfortable afterwards. It works much better when kept in the refrigerator. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 28, 2017
I bought this to use as a soothing treatment when I get sunburned during Southeast Asian vacations. No matter how well I apply sunscreen, my skin always turns red by evening. But when I apply this before bed, it feels calming. The affordable price means I can slather it on generously, which is great. It doesn't seem to absorb into the skin very well. When it comes into contact with water, it feels like it turns back into a gel. When you're heading to a sunny destination, pack this along. You can use it as an all-over soothing mask for your body. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 23, 2016
When used cold to cool down heated skin, you can see immediate results. It's affordable and the ingredients are gentle enough to apply without worry. Plus, the large quantity means it lasts a long time. A little goes a long way, so you can even use it on your body. Personally, I got blemishes after using this on my face, so I stopped applying it there. It feels very sticky when applied and doesn't absorb well. The absorption rate seems average, but the stickiness lingers. There's absolutely no difference or unique selling point compared to similar products from other brands. I can't see any notable benefits either. For those looking to reduce facial redness, try putting some cold aloe gel on a sheet mask - it works wonders for quickly calming the skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 28, 2015
This is the best soothing gel I've ever used! Usually, when soothing gels dry, you feel tightness and dryness, but this one doesn't do that at all. It's incredibly hydrating! Plus, it has a lovely scent. And the price is so affordable! There wasn't really anything disappointing about it, but if I had to nitpick, I'd say the amount is a bit small. But honestly, no complaints! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 25, 2015
This is honestly the best soothing gel I've ever used. It's hydrating without being greasy, so even with my oily skin, I could wear it comfortably in summer. The hydration lasts for a long time too. The only downside might be the small size. But the product itself is really amazing! It works wonders for blemishes. Just applying it helps calm down acne and facial redness, but here's my secret: I tear off the thin layer of a double-ply cotton pad, soak it in the soothing gel that I've kept in the fridge all day, and sleep with it on my face. By the next morning, my blemishes have almost completely subsided. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinFeb 28, 2015
After applying emulsion or toner, I used this straight from the fridge. It felt refreshingly cool and provided great hydration. The volume was generous, and the price was quite affordable too. There's a slight sticky feeling, and if you apply too much, it can cause a tingling sensation on your face. For best results, apply a thin layer and gently pat it into your skin. It absorbs well this way. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinFeb 27, 2015
It feels cool when you first apply it. There's a sense of soothing, perhaps? If you apply even slightly more than the recommended amount, it pills. Severely! Rather than feeling like it's providing hydration, it's more like it's creating a film on the skin. After the alcohol evaporates, there's a noticeable dryness... I'm using it as a body moisturizer now. Sigh. Well... I think using a mask might be a better choice. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 23, 2015
I applied it mainly along the line from my dry chin to my ears. It feels like compressed aloe gel. Even a thin layer provides ample hydration. It's somewhat sticky, which made me hesitant to use it on blemishes. It works well when applied in a thin layer before a powdery sunscreen. - fl****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJan 5, 2015
It's cheap when you buy it on sale... To be honest, I'm not sure what's so good about it. Maybe it's because I have sensitive skin, but my face got itchy and I broke out... At first, I didn't realize it was because of this and kept applying it, but my skin... Just don't buy it. I switched to Nature Republic's Aloe Gel and that's so much better!!! If you have sensitive skin, don't use this. It's okay to apply on arms and legs when you get sunburned, it feels cool and somewhat fine. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 9, 2014
The scent was the only decent thing about it... For my skin, aloe products either work really well or not at all. This one definitely didn't agree with me. It caused a lot of blemishes. While some aloe gels claim to be light, this product has a heavy texture. It's sticky and overpriced for the amount you get. I couldn't even use it for a week before giving it away to a friend.
