The cleansing effectiveness is so poor that I have to shampoo twice. Also, my hair has become noticeably thinner.

The hold is absolutely fantastic! It even tames all those pesky flyaways.

Be careful not to use too much, or your hair might look greasy. I recommend using it to style and set your whole head. If you want to style slightly damp hair, it works well when applied to hair that's not completely dry.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the scent, and it feels sticky when it touches the skin. Even after washing your hands, you can still feel some residue.

The staying power is about 4 hours, but it doesn't last as long when you sweat. It's matte and can clump if applied in one spot, so it's best to spray it lightly two or three times all over your hair. It's great for taming those few flyaways with your hands!

As mentioned above, it worked well when sprayed on specific areas, but it might not suit those with slightly longer hair. The scent wasn't my style either. If sprayed incorrectly, it felt like it created an extra layer(?) on the hair, which I didn't like, and it seemed potentially harmful to the scalp. The spray was inconsistent - sometimes it came out clumped, other times it sprayed well. I tried spraying it in the air 1-2 times before using it on my hair, but it didn't disperse well in the air and easily stuck to objects. The spray distribution is not uniform.

Hold: The Mise-en-Scene hairspray I used before had a nice hold that wasn't too unnatural, but this one doesn't have great hold. So I'm not sure about repurchasing it!

Price: I bought this after hearing that my usual Mise-en-Scene hairspray was discontinued. I was pleased to find that it's one of the more affordable hairsprays available on the market!

Spray Type: I appreciated that it's not an aerosol spray. Aerosol sprays often have strong scents and that distinctive gas smell that can make it hard to breathe. That's why I opted for this water-based spray.

Tip for fine hair hold & buying sprays: To check for white residue, spray the tester on your hair, let it dry, then rub it. Products that leave white powder will flake off like dandruff on dry days or when you lie down and get up. For fine, limp hair volume and hold: These types of sprays tend to collapse easily. Transfer to a fine mist bottle and spray from a distance with gentle air pressure for quick setting. Alternatively, use a light gas spray sparingly (avoid strong gas sprays as they're harder to wash out - a light application is sufficient).

The spray nozzle clumps when dispensing, so I transferred it to a bottle with a more even spray distribution. This way, it looks like you haven't sprayed anything, but the hold lasts long. I deducted points because the spray power wasn't my style. It's great for short hair, but as I have long hair, it wasn't ideal for overall hold.

While liquid sprays are generally similar, I like this one because it's formulated with gentle ingredients - it rarely causes blemishes. Other products often trigger breakouts for me. Plus, no matter how much I spray, there's no white residue or clumping (if you overspray, it just feels like a coating). I wouldn't have bought it if it left a white powder. (Most liquid-type products, including this one, offer good hold and cleansing effectiveness)
