ConsLarge particles prone to caking, cheap chemical scent
TipGood value for money, but consider investing a bit more for a better option

ConsAs mentioned above, it worked well when sprayed on specific areas, but it might not suit those with slightly longer hair. The scent wasn't my style either. If sprayed incorrectly, it felt like it created an extra layer(?) on the hair, which I didn't like, and it seemed potentially harmful to the scalp. The spray was inconsistent - sometimes it came out clumped, other times it sprayed well. I tried spraying it in the air 1-2 times before using it on my hair, but it didn't disperse well in the air and easily stuck to objects. The spray distribution is not uniform.
TipExcellent setting power only. Otherwise, not great. Used it a few times for its cheap price, then tossed it.

As someone who styles their hair daily for work, I go through about one bottle a month. I've tried cheaper aerosol and liquid sprays, but this one's incredible hold really stands out.
ConsApart from its hold power, everything else is disappointing. The biggest issue is the spray mechanism. Even though I cleaned the nozzle after each use, it still clogged. I had to tilt it sideways every time, making a mess on my hands. One day, my neck and sides started itching. When I looked in the mirror, I nearly fainted - there were red blotches everywhere, which later turned into hives. I rushed to the dermatologist who confirmed it was due to the spray. They advised me to stop using it immediately, so I switched to a different product.
TipIf you're set on using a spray, investing in a refillable bottle is a must. I've often wished they'd just sell refills instead of new bottles each time.

Unlike gas sprays that tend to be hard to rinse out when washing your hair, this water spray rinses out easily. The setting power seems to hit the mark too.
ConsIt's disappointing that it's not a fine mist spray. The stream comes out too straight, so when you're spraying your hair, it ends up hitting your opposite shoulder...

Hold Among the liquid hair sprays I've used, I haven't encountered any with unsatisfactory hold. Mugshot also delivers satisfactory hold.
Cons1. Scalp tingling When using Mugshot, my scalp tingles uncomfortably. When buying hair sprays, I used to grab whatever was on sale at Olive Young or whatever caught my eye, but my scalp always felt irritated. (Products used: Mise-en-Scène Mugshot, Dashu) On busy mornings when I only have time to spray and go, the scalp tingling worries me. I'm concerned this might lead to hair loss if it continues.

He's probably been using it for about 10 years now. The good points are the hold and lasting power, which my husband is satisfied with. Anyway, he uses it so much every day that he goes through about one bottle a month.
ConsFirst of all, my husband has severe seborrheic dermatitis and blemishes on his scalp, so spraying hairspray can't be good for his already troubled skin. He claims he uses it sparingly, but he goes through a bottle a month, using it at least 1-3 times daily. This makes the bathroom incredibly dirty. What I mean is, when the spray is released into the air, it coats everything. So the toothbrush, rinsing cup, toilet, floor, slippers - everything gets a rough coating of hairspray. My husband, who's never cleaned the bathroom, might not notice, but as the one who has to clean, I have to scrub the toilet vigorously instead of just wiping it gently. Even after such thorough cleaning, it's coated again the next day. Come to think of it, I wonder if the lungs of someone who sprays and inhales this are okay. I've been telling him for years not to use it because it's probably bad for his lungs, but my husband has stubbornly ignored this advice for 25 years. Finally, a few days ago, research came out showing that inhaling hairspray damages the lungs. It took scientists a while to discover what even a housewife knows. Anyway, only then did my husband start to hesitate about using spray. Apparently, the same words are nonsense when his wife says them, but logical when a researcher does.
TipI don't have any tips since I don't use it, but it's best to be careful not to inhale it when using. When I absolutely have to use it, like for my child's recital, I cover my face with a thin book or clear file while spraying. If you spray too close, it concentrates in one area, so keep some distance to get even coverage.

He only uses this one now.
ConsThe scent is too unpleasant compared to how well it sets. It smells a bit harsh. When you spray it once, the fragrance fills the entire house...

My hair usually loses its curl and falls flat after just a couple of hours, even with intense curling. But when I use this product, my curls stay bouncy and defined until evening!
ConsBe careful with the amount you use - if you overdo it, your hair can become stiff and crunchy. Also, sometimes when I'm in a rush and spray carelessly, it gets on my face or neck, which feels really unpleasant. And if it accidentally gets in your mouth... ugh. Make sure to cover your face when spraying! Trust me, it tastes awful.
TipHere's a tip for boosting root volume: Flip your part to the opposite side, lightly mist with the spray, and use your fingers to lift at the roots. Then flip your part back to its original position, spray again, and tease for volume. This technique helps your hairstyle last even longer!
