I've been using this for over two years now! It's my holy grail highlighter and a permanent fixture in my routine. I've looked at others, but nothing compares to this one, honestly. For the longest time, I couldn't find a highlighter I really liked, so I kept searching but ended up not using any because nothing seemed right. They were either too artificial-looking and overwhelming, or just sparkly with a bit of glitter, but nothing that truly fit. Plus, being blessed with large pores, I struggled to find a highlighter that worked well for me, making it even harder to settle on one. When I apply this to the center of my face, it brightens everything up and gives a subtle glow that actually makes those areas look more lifted - it really fulfills the role of a highlighter perfectly. When you move your face, it catches the light beautifully, it's just gorgeous. It doesn't just sparkle indiscriminately, nor does it look unnaturally white or fake - it does its job subtly and effectively. Using a not-too-wide brush to precisely apply it to the central areas of the face creates a much more three-dimensional look, and it brightens the overall complexion too. Compared to stark white highlighters, this one blends more naturally while still providing a strong effect without looking unnatural. The staying power is great! My makeup usually fades quickly, but this stays put until I get home! It doesn't emphasize pores much! Despite being a dry powder with shimmer, which typically accentuates pores, this one does so much less. Of course, it's not completely invisible, but even as someone with large pores, I can use it without much concern. The fine, soft particles seem to minimize pore emphasis significantly for a highlighter. The case is pretty and the wide pan shape is convenient. It also comes with a large mirror, which is great. The case illustration is beautiful and unique, and the product inside is just as good! Often, you buy something for the packaging and the contents are just so-so, but not here. It's thin and light, and the size is just right - generous enough but not too big to carry around. I was torn between Mary and Cindy, but Cindy had too much of a pink tone that looked a bit unnatural on the nose and forehead. Even though it has good color payoff, the pink was too prominent for highlighting the bridge of the nose. It might look pretty as a blush/highlighter combo on the cheeks, but buying both was a bit much, so I just went with Mary as it's more versatile. The formula is a bit soft. So there's some powder fallout. I've heard it breaks easily because it's so soft, so I can't carry it around. It's a shame because it has a big mirror and a wide pan that would be great for on-the-go touch-ups. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 1, 2019
I finally bought and started using The Balm's famous highlighter! It's already so popular that many people seem to be using it. First off, it naturally brightens the skin! It really makes you look beautiful in photos~ The downside... Maybe because it's gold, it feels a bit yellowish, if I have to say. Anyway... that's disappointing. There also seems to be a bit of excess powder. I don't plan to repurchase, unfortunately! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinNov 16, 2018
This highlighter has a subtle golden glow that's not too artificial, giving just the right amount of presence. The fine particles blend seamlessly with the skin without looking patchy. There's a bit of excess powder fallout, and it's somewhat fragile. You'll need to be careful when carrying it in your makeup bag. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 22, 2018
I absolutely adore this product! I originally wanted to buy the Stila Heaven's Hue Highlighter, but it was too expensive at full price and always sold out duty-free. I'm so glad I found this instead - it's fantastic! 1. It looks natural: This is a huge plus for me! I don't want a highlighter that's too flashy or overpowering, as it wouldn't suit my makeup style. I do full face makeup, but I keep my color cosmetics subtle and rarely use eyeliner. This highlighter gives my skin a beautiful glow without being too much! 2. It's affordable: I bought it online at the lowest price, just over $10. Given the amount, I think it'll last me a lifetime... You don't need to apply highlighter heavily, and there's so much product. The value for money is incredible! 3. The color is gorgeous! I wanted a golden hue similar to 'Kitten' from Heaven's Hue, and this delivers with a light ivory base and gold shimmer. I'm very satisfied, though the base color isn't noticeable on the skin. 4. The particles are fine: I've tested several highlighters, and some had such large glitter particles they barely seemed like highlighters! This one has fine particles, so the shimmer isn't overwhelming. I have large, visible pores on my nose, but this doesn't emphasize them or get stuck in them! Hmm... While the color worked for me, it might be too golden for those with extremely fair, cool-toned skin. I have an odd skin tone that suits both pink and coral shades, and this worked well for me. I wouldn't recommend it if you dislike golden tones. Also, if you prefer intense highlighters, this might not be for you initially - though you can build it up with multiple layers for a more dramatic effect. I'd still suggest trying it, haha! There is some powder fallout. Even with a soft brush, you'll get some flyaways when tapping off excess. Using your fingers can help with this issue. In the end, I don't really have any complaints! For the cheekbones and jawline, applying with a brush allows for better control and a natural look. For the nose bridge, cupid's bow, and under the brow bone, gently patting it on with your fingertip gives better adherence and a prettier finish. Be especially gentle when applying to the nose for the best results! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinMay 19, 2018
As someone who didn't pay much attention to ingredients before, I just bought this because it was popular and on sale. Later, I realized it's great that it doesn't contain talc! The color is a mix of yellow, beige, and gold. At first, I thought it might be too yellow, but when applied to the skin, it creates a natural white glow. The base color blends seamlessly with your complexion, giving a natural look with a nice highlighting effect. It looks beautiful not just on the face, but also works well on the body. It's great that it spreads easily with a brush. The yellowish tint might be a concern for some, but since makeup always needs to be matched to individual skin tones, it's hard to call this a straightforward disadvantage. The excess powder can make the inside of the container get dirty quickly. It's also easy to get the product on your hands when opening and closing it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 2, 2016
It has a subtle glow. You can make it really stand out by adjusting the amount applied, which is great. The amount is quite generous and the pearl particles are fairly even. If you like a pinkish highlighter, it may come across as slightly too 'Korean' in appearance. There is a bit of powder fallout. If your skin has a lot of flakiness or is in poor condition, it may tend to emphasize blemishes when applied. Proper skin care is essential.
