#21 shade #deep undertone I wasn't particularly interested in highlighters and didn't really feel the need for one, but this product changed my mind. First off, the powder formula makes it easy to use. Even when I layered it, I didn't feel like it was caking up! Above all, the fine shimmer particles are absolutely gorgeous. It especially shines in natural light, giving a sparkling effect that adds dimension without being overwhelming. As with any highlighter, controlling the amount is key, and the beige tone makes it versatile and easy to use. There was a slight emphasis on pores, but not to a bothersome degree. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 18, 2019
The pearl particles are incredibly fine and adhere well to the skin. The peachy gold pearl creates a natural skin glow. Personally, I prefer highlighters with smaller particles, so the color payoff is absolutely fantastic. Plus, the amount is so generous that it feels like it'll last a lifetime. The large mirror is also great, though I wouldn't carry it around for fear of breaking it! Controlling the amount and blending is extremely, extremely challenging. I'm not sure if it's my lack of skill, but it's as difficult to work with as NARS Orgasm in terms of potentially creating an overly shiny look. If you apply it incorrectly, you might end up with a T-zone that shines like a golden Buddha statue or looking like a highway reflector caught in headlights at midnight. On the flip side, this could be seen as an advantage for creating dramatic looks? Since it's gold shimmer, even if you apply a lot, you won't look like a futuristic cyborg from the end times. I've been applying it with a fan brush. Since the particles are fine and adhere well, making blending tricky, I apply it lightly multiple times. I barely touch the brush to the product, tap off the excess thoroughly, and build it up in layers. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 1, 2019
I finally bought and started using The Balm's famous highlighter! It's already so popular that many people seem to be using it. First off, it naturally brightens the skin! It really makes you look beautiful in photos~ The downside... Maybe because it's gold, it feels a bit yellowish, if I have to say. Anyway... that's disappointing. There also seems to be a bit of excess powder. I don't plan to repurchase, unfortunately! - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 1, 2018
I had been eyeing this product but couldn't justify the price until I snagged it during a 50% off sale at Olive Young! Once you apply this shimmer, you'll find yourself constantly thinking about it. The subtle golden pearl isn't overwhelming at all - it gives such a natural radiance that makes your skin look smooth and luminous. It's absolutely gorgeous! The price can be a bit steep if you buy it when it's not on sale. Apply it diagonally on the bridge of your nose and cheekbones for a beautiful effect. It's especially essential when you're heading to slightly dimmer places! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAug 2, 2018
The natural gold pearl gives such a subtle color, but it's just enough to say 'I'm wearing highlighter!' It's not over the top, so anyone can use it easily. In Korea, we don't have many good affordable highlighters, and while this one isn't exactly cheap, it's worth saving up for. The quantity is generous, and the staying power is impressive. Even after a few hours, you're still glowing and sparkling. Being a powder type, it's a bit disappointing that it tends to leave residue on the mirror. This highlighter looks beautiful wherever you apply it, but it's truly stunning when used on the C-zone of your face. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 22, 2018
I absolutely adore this product! I originally wanted to buy the Stila Heaven's Hue Highlighter, but it was too expensive at full price and always sold out duty-free. I'm so glad I found this instead - it's fantastic! 1. It looks natural: This is a huge plus for me! I don't want a highlighter that's too flashy or overpowering, as it wouldn't suit my makeup style. I do full face makeup, but I keep my color cosmetics subtle and rarely use eyeliner. This highlighter gives my skin a beautiful glow without being too much! 2. It's affordable: I bought it online at the lowest price, just over $10. Given the amount, I think it'll last me a lifetime... You don't need to apply highlighter heavily, and there's so much product. The value for money is incredible! 3. The color is gorgeous! I wanted a golden hue similar to 'Kitten' from Heaven's Hue, and this delivers with a light ivory base and gold shimmer. I'm very satisfied, though the base color isn't noticeable on the skin. 4. The particles are fine: I've tested several highlighters, and some had such large glitter particles they barely seemed like highlighters! This one has fine particles, so the shimmer isn't overwhelming. I have large, visible pores on my nose, but this doesn't emphasize them or get stuck in them! Hmm... While the color worked for me, it might be too golden for those with extremely fair, cool-toned skin. I have an odd skin tone that suits both pink and coral shades, and this worked well for me. I wouldn't recommend it if you dislike golden tones. Also, if you prefer intense highlighters, this might not be for you initially - though you can build it up with multiple layers for a more dramatic effect. I'd still suggest trying it, haha! There is some powder fallout. Even with a soft brush, you'll get some flyaways when tapping off excess. Using your fingers can help with this issue. In the end, I don't really have any complaints! For the cheekbones and jawline, applying with a brush allows for better control and a natural look. For the nose bridge, cupid's bow, and under the brow bone, gently patting it on with your fingertip gives better adherence and a prettier finish. Be especially gentle when applying to the nose for the best results! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinMay 19, 2018
As someone who didn't pay much attention to ingredients before, I just bought this because it was popular and on sale. Later, I realized it's great that it doesn't contain talc! The color is a mix of yellow, beige, and gold. At first, I thought it might be too yellow, but when applied to the skin, it creates a natural white glow. The base color blends seamlessly with your complexion, giving a natural look with a nice highlighting effect. It looks beautiful not just on the face, but also works well on the body. It's great that it spreads easily with a brush. The yellowish tint might be a concern for some, but since makeup always needs to be matched to individual skin tones, it's hard to call this a straightforward disadvantage. The excess powder can make the inside of the container get dirty quickly. It's also easy to get the product on your hands when opening and closing it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 3, 2018
I was worried about the Gold Beam shade since I have fair skin, but it's actually quite nice. It's not quite gold, more of a beige? The color isn't too light, but it doesn't look darker than my skin either, which I really like. With just a couple of applications, it gives a natural-looking glow. I don't have any major issues yet, but the case seems a bit difficult to open. It looks pretty when applied to the aegyo sal (under-eye area) too. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 24, 2017
It boasts a large capacity. I'm sure I'll use it for a long time. My friend sent me an Olive Young coupon as a birthday gift. I finally found it and used the 20,000 won coupon, 3,000 won in points, and 2,000 won in cash to make a great purchase. Every time I use it, I feel grateful to my friend. If you buy a cheap highlighter, it can turn out too pink or too white, which can be quite burdensome, so I often didn't use it. But this one matches my skin tone (23) well. It's not a pure yellow gold, but more of a champagne gold or light gold, which looks natural on me, so I use it often. It has an incredibly oily sheen that appears just a few hours after application... So the luminous glow of the product is not very visible. The longevity was also a bit disappointing. I had to blot the oil with oil-absorbing sheets to make most of it go away. I really liked the versatility of this product. The fluffy brush can be used to highlight the forehead, cheekbone area, nose bridge, chin, and nose tip. The small lip brush (dedicated for highlighter) can be used to accentuate the cupid's bow and smile lines. Patting it on the eyelids with my fingertips seems to give better staying power. The natural color tone makes it easy to use in various areas. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 15, 2017
You can get a natural highlighter effect!!! There are no blemishes yet~ Proper dosage seems to be important... I think applying it lightly with my fingers looks more natural than using a brush
