It's so vibrant without any dullness, making it incredibly clean and beautiful. It's perfect as a summer lipstick for those with cool undertones. Rather than lining the full lips, it's better to define just the lip contour and fill in naturally. Pair it with a thin blue or violet eyeliner for the ultimate cool-toned summer makeup look. Before the pandemic, I used to rock this with some cool-toned shimmer on the lower lash line and a bold winged liner for a striking festival look. I hope we can soon enjoy wearing bold lip colors like this again! Even for cool-toned individuals who suit lower brightness, you can make it more wearable by blending it inwards with a cherry red like Dragon Girl or Gangnam Pink. If done right, it can give you gorgeous doll-like lips. When it matches well, it brightens up your face, makes your features pop, and gives you a fresh, clear complexion.
ConsUnless you're using it as a base color, this shade is quite bright and limited to those with fair skin. When applying, you need to be very meticulous with your base makeup. Apply it over a flawless, even complexion achieved with concealer to avoid any awkwardness and ensure it blends naturally with your skin. Also, as this is a very matte lipstick, I don't recommend pairing it with intense highlighters as it can create a jarring contrast.

While the Candy Yum-Yum shade might be a bit bold, I highly recommend other colors in the MAC lipstick range!
ConsI received this as a gift, and the vibrant hot pink color seemed a bit intense for everyday wear. However, if you dab it on lightly as shown in the photo, you can use it as a full lip color or as a base. Being matte, it does feel a bit stiff when applying.
TipInstead of Candy Yum-Yum, I'd suggest trying shades like Ruby Woo or Chili for more wearable everyday colors. Candy Yum-Yum is a bit too bold for me to reach for regularly.

For a matte lipstick, it applies smoothly and feels less drying than expected. As a summer cool tone, I usually gravitate towards fuchsia pinks, but this one suits me moderately well. It's a bit bold? The pink is quite vibrant, so I need to apply it lightly. It's a bright, fluorescent pink with a hint of purple. Hmm... it's hard to describe, but there might be a touch of white mixed in too. This gives it a slightly floating appearance. I agree with another review that mentioned even as a summer cool tone, it's challenging to pull off this 'Candy Yum-Yum' shade completely. Still, the color itself is really beautiful!
ConsThe scent was disappointing. It smells like pills... It tends to accentuate wrinkles a bit. Dead skin cell management is a must!

While applying it full-on might be a bit bold, dabbing it on for a gradient effect looks absolutely stunning! If you're a fan of hot pink, I highly recommend this. Plus, it has the best staying power among all the lipsticks I own!
ConsIt's quite drying to wear in winter. It also emphasizes dead skin cells quite noticeably. I guess that's the limitation of matte lipsticks.

As expected from a MAC lipstick, the color payoff and staying power are incredible. On days I wear this, everyone compliments me on the beautiful lipstick color. It brightens up my face, and when applied as a full lip, it gives a bold, sexy, and sophisticated look. That's why it's always in my makeup bag. It's the lipstick I reach for when I want to boost my mood!
ConsEverything's great, but it's extremely matte. If you wear it for a long time, it cracks and the dead skin cells are no joke... While a moisturizing type might struggle to achieve that modern, sophisticated look typical of matte lipsticks, I wish there was a way to deal with the flakiness. Still, because of its unique color, I'll probably keep it as a lifetime staple.
