This moisturizer, true to its sensitive skin focus, is free from harmful ingredients and packed with components that help stabilize and hydrate the skin. The texture feels incredibly gentle when applied, and if you don't mind the slightly tingling herbal scent, it's perfect to use in the emulsion step of your routine.
ConsAs with any cosmetic ingredient, one of Aveda's signature botanical components might trigger an allergic reaction or side effects for some individuals. Additionally, while it's not officially discontinued or scheduled to be, for some reason it's constantly out of stock on the official website and often missing from department store shelves, making it surprisingly difficult to get your hands on.
TipIf you're planning to use it long-term, it might be a good idea to stock up when you can find it.

I have sensitive skin that tends to break out with cystic acne and reacts badly to products not suitable for my combination skin, often resulting in irritation the next day. This leads me to frequent dermatologist visits. However, this product doesn't seem to cause any negative reactions on my skin. It feels refreshing too. This is an emulsion I'd like to keep using without looking for alternatives. I've tried fermented skincare products that are supposedly great if they suit your skin, but this product works much better for my skin compared to other brands I've used in a similar price range. The fact that it's fragrance-free makes it even more comfortable to apply. However, if you have dry skin, you might find it too drying to use without following up with a cream or additional moisturizing steps.
ConsFor the first two or three days, it felt like there wasn't enough moisture (though it didn't cause any breakouts). It might have been an adjustment period because after that, my skin seemed to regulate its own oil production, reaching a very balanced state. While it's on the pricier side... the benefits outweigh the cost. I only use toner and emulsion as my basic skincare, so I opt for a relatively cheaper toner.

It's incredibly mild and perfect for my combination, sensitive skin. I've had no adverse reactions while using it - it's been great! The texture is light and fluid-like, absorbing well, and it's fragrance-free, which is really nice. I'll definitely repurchase, 100%!!!
ConsI don't have any complaints personally, but I think those with super dry skin might find it a bit lacking in hydration.

I love its unique subtle scent. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I've been applying it daily. It's so reassuring to use, which makes me really happy.
ConsThe price, haha... Well, it's a bit on the expensive side, which can be a burden, but I think it's decent considering the amount you get.

I also loved how it didn't feel too heavy on my skin.
ConsThe downside is that it might be a bit too light for those with dry skin.

It absorbs so well that just a small amount of this emulsion keeps my skin hydrated. I have combination dehydrated skin, so on dry days I only need to add a bit of moisturizer around my eyes and cheeks. The scent is slightly herbal, but it's a pleasant, subtle fragrance that feels refreshing. It doesn't irritate my super sensitive skin that's prone to redness. I'm actually more satisfied with this emulsion than with the famous Aveda shampoo.
ConsThe formula is quite thin, so it applies without irritation, but those with dry skin might need to layer an additional cream-type product on top.
