I must have received this as a sample with a purchase ages ago. I remember the color was beautifully pigmented, and it had great application and coverage. It left my skin feeling smooth, velvety, and adhered well to my skin. I was so impressed that I wanted to buy the full size, but sadly it's been discontinued... What a shame! The full-size product comes in a jar, which isn't ideal for hygiene reasons. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 21, 2021
Leaves skin feeling hydrated and moisturized. The color is beautiful and it has impressive staying power. The pot packaging is really inconvenient. It's so easy to misplace the little spoon too. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 17, 2020
When it comes to foundation, color is the most crucial factor, and this one absolutely nails it. Putting everything else aside, the color range is phenomenal. The A02 shade is just gorgeous - it's not overly bright but gives you that radiant complexion. The way it absorbs is fantastic, and it doesn't pill at all, which is a huge plus. It's a foundation that applies smoothly with a nice hydrating feel, while still providing decent coverage. It doesn't offer extreme coverage. The packaging makes it inconvenient to use, and controlling the amount dispensed isn't easy. For those with oily skin, you might find it challenging in terms of staying power and coverage. As mentioned earlier, this foundation is pretty standard in most aspects, except for its excellent color range. While it does feel hydrating upon application, that moisture doesn't last all day, so I'd strongly recommend using a good base underneath. To make application easier, try transferring it to a pump bottle or an airless pump container from Daiso - it'll make your life so much simpler! - al***********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 25, 2019
1. Absorbs: ★★★★★ 2. Texture: ★★★★★ 3. Coverage: ★★☆☆☆ 4. Longevity: ★★★★★ 5. Graceful wear-off: ★★★★★ I've been a foundation nomad with combination dehydrated skin that's sensitive, dry, and prone to terrible breakdown and caking. I've tried every highly-rated foundation out there. Then I used a sample of this cushion foundation, and it stayed put beautifully all day without breaking down! Of course, some oil comes through, but that's expected. Make sure to use a primer! When oil does surface, just pat with any cushion, and it's good as new. This is my holy grail foundation, and I'll use it forever. You know those blue puffs sold at Olive Young? If you dampen one and use it with this foundation, it's absolutely amazing. It really locks in the hydration - a true holy grail! The coverage is a bit light with just one layer, so I apply two. It goes on sheer, so you'll need to use concealer on areas that need more coverage. Hair tends to stick to it, but a light dusting of powder should fix that. The jar packaging is really inconvenient. Having to use a spatula to get the product out is such a hassle. For a dewy finish, use a damp beauty blender! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 11, 2019
I was about to rave about how beautiful the color is, but I was surprised to see someone else had posted an almost identical review! Just like them, I have 🌟slightly fair-toned, cool undertone skin in shade 21🌟, and this color is an absolute perfect match. As a beauty enthusiast, I've tried many foundations, but in terms of color, nothing has topped this one - not even VDL A02. Nowadays, I use Jung Saem Mool's cushion in Fair Pink for daily wear, but when I want my complexion to look extra pretty, I reach for this one despite it being a bit more fussy to apply. It's moisturizing and the ingredients worked well for me without any issues. I actually found it even more suitable when I had extremely dry skin. As I've gotten older, my skin has become more oily. I used to have such dry skin that I needed to apply oil before using this, but now it feels a bit too rich. I don't think it would suit those with oily skin types. The coverage isn't particularly high. When I wasn't too concerned about coverage, I was satisfied. But after my skin went through some changes, leaving dark reddish marks and more pronounced redness on my cheeks, I've found it less effective. Since it's a foundation with a natural pink undertone, it sometimes doesn't cover redness as well as I'd like. These days, I often layer a more yellow-toned concealer on my cheeks for extra coverage. It pairs exceptionally well with the Lumi Layer primer. If you're a fan of glowing skin, I'd recommend getting a sample of the primer to try together when you purchase this foundation! - vi********Dry SkinSensitive SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMay 26, 2019
Personally, this is my holy grail product! I've already gone through 4 bottles, if you can believe it! As someone who loves the radiance of shade 21, I found the pink base not overwhelming at all - it's just perfect! (I'm a big fan of the VDL foundation in A02 overall.) The skin finish is something special - it looks dewy without being greasy, has a beautiful glow while still having a slight powdery feel. I love it! The cream formula is a godsend for my dry skin, which is actually combination with an oily T-zone. Despite being a cream, it wears beautifully throughout the day. Even touch-ups are a breeze with no caking. It's become my absolute go-to for everyday wear! In the sweltering summer heat, it can break down a bit more, especially around the nose. In winter, it holds up much better without cracking, but in summer, a primer is an absolute must! For application, I usually use a flat foundation brush or a puff from Daiso. However, with this product, I found the best method was to gently spread it with my fingers first, then finish with a puff. The cream texture works well with hands (but no rubbing, of course!). - ha********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 12, 2019
This cream foundation has a dense texture, making it great for covering uneven skin texture. It doesn't apply too thick, though. I usually use it with a wedge puff, and it creates a beautifully smooth skin appearance. I'd recommend it to those concerned about skin texture and unevenness. It's a moisturizing type that gives a glow, but for my combination skin, it wasn't excessive or greasy. It has just the right amount of hydration and radiance for fall and winter use. As for settling into wrinkles, after a few hours there's a slight creasing around smile lines, but it's not cracking badly - only noticeable up close. A quick pat usually fixes it, so it didn't bother me much. Like most foundations, it tends to break down with heater air. I noticed it separates and lifts when exposed to car heater air. In my case, I used it together with the VDL Lumilayer Primer, which really enhanced the skin texture appearance. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 20, 2019
I'm on my 4th jar now. Here's why I love it: - Perfect for my dehydrated dry skin - no dryness or flaking. - The color is pretty and it has decent coverage for a hydrating foundation. - Love that it comes in both red and yellow base options. - Hardly noticed any darkening even when it starts to fade. - It makes my complexion look great! A few things to watch out for: - If you're not careful with the amount, trying to get more coverage can make it look cakey. Apply thin layers where needed. - Since it's in a jar, you need to be mindful of hygiene. - If your skincare routine is heavy on oils, this can make your skin look extra oily. Some tips: - For hygiene, I transfer some to a separate container for use. - Mix with a high-coverage foundation if you need more coverage. - When my skin is really acting up, I mix in a tiny bit of face oil to combat any dryness. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 28, 2019
As someone with dry skin, I was looking for a hydrating product, and this one is incredibly moisturizing. While it's hydrating, the staying power doesn't seem to last very long. Moreover, the coverage isn't particularly high either. - xi********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 17, 2019
1. Color One of the biggest reasons I can't give up VDL foundation! The A02 shade is a perfect match for my cool-toned complexion that's slightly lighter than shade 21. It's my go-to reference when checking foundation shades from other brands! 2. Longevity I thought the cream type might not last long due to its rich texture, but surprisingly, it has great staying power. It's just slightly less coverage than VDL's Perfecting Last Foundation, but still gives a beautiful glow. 3. Skin Appearance It truly creates a smooth, egg-shell like finish on the skin! 4. No Blemishes Despite having sensitive and blemish-prone skin, I don't feel like this causes any irritation or breakouts. 1. Ingredients While I don't usually scrutinize foundation ingredients, these aren't particularly impressive. 2. Packaging Although it's a cream-type foundation, it feels more like a thick liquid foundation. A pump dispenser would have been more convenient. The jar gets messy with continued use, which is frustrating. For best results, apply a thin layer with your fingers, then pat it in with an air puff for a seamless finish. Don't assume cream foundations always apply thick - with proper amount control, you can achieve a sheer, natural look!
