I especially love how it applies smoothly and creamily while still having great adherence! Highly recommended. The 'Cruella' shade is a deep burgundy, but due to its texture, it appears much lighter than other similar-colored lipsticks. You need to apply several layers to achieve the color you see in the bullet. Even though it's a dark shade, it spreads evenly without patchiness, making me think it's a star student in the lipstick world. I believe this product has nailed the trifecta - color, texture, and staying power. The texture, in particular, is truly remarkable. If applying regular lipstick with your finger feels like a smooth glide, this one feels more like... a soft, powdery cloud. It's as if you're rolling a cloud between your fingers... I'd say it's a lipstick everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. It's simply outstanding. Personally, I don't mind any scent in color cosmetics, but for those who might be curious - it has a vintage rouge-like fragrance. When you open the cap, it reminds me of playing at my mother's vanity table, with a nostalgic, perfume-like scent. I actually love this smell, so the fragrance alone was a bonus for me. I'm definitely considering repurchasing.
ConsIf you're expecting a type that lasts through staining, you might be disappointed as it doesn't leave a stain.

It's a matte formula that adheres naturally and smoothly to the lips. The color payoff is not too intense, giving a natural look. For those who want a bolder appearance, applying two or three layers should do the trick. I often use this shade on its own. When you fill in your entire lips, it gives off a sophisticated urban vibe, and sometimes even a sexy allure. I love that it's easier to line the lips with this pencil format compared to regular lipsticks. This color looks prettier when applied all over rather than as a gradient.
ConsThe inconvenience of having to sharpen it... It's heartbreaking to see the color being shaved away when sharpening.

I love how it feels lightweight yet matte - exactly my style.
ConsIt's a bit inconvenient that you need a separate pencil sharpener. If your lips are dry, it can catch on them, which is disappointing. The matte finish does come with some dryness, as expected.
TipFor beautiful lips, apply lip balm before using this lipstick.

It's a matte type that glides on smoothly! I think it looks even prettier when you create a gradient effect in the center rather than fully filling in the lips.
ConsYou need to sharpen this type of pencil, so I bought a dedicated sharpener. However, it hurts a bit to see some of the product getting shaved off when sharpening.
TipSince it's matte, applying lip balm beforehand helps smooth out any dead skin cells on your lips!

While it suits warm skin tones without looking out of place, this cherry-red shade seems to complement cool, fair complexions even more beautifully. Perfect for adding a pop of color without eye makeup. Smooth Application & Effortless Gradient Despite being a matte lip product, it glides on incredibly smoothly with a velvety finish. It blends seamlessly, making it super easy to create a flawless gradient effect without any patchiness. The pencil format allows for precise lip lining, and if you make a mistake, simply press your lips together for a natural touch-up. No Emphasis on Dead Skin Cells or Fine Lines One common drawback of matte lips is how they can accentuate dry patches. NARS matte lip pencil doesn't emphasize dead skin cells or fine lines, which is fantastic. However, it doesn't improve their appearance either - your lips look the same before and after application in terms of texture.
ConsInconvenience of Sharpening Being a pencil type, it requires sharpening. You'll need a pencil sharpener, and some product is lost in the process. However, this might help keep the formula fresher, so it's not entirely a downside. Matte Case Prone to Marks While the matte case looks luxurious and beautiful, it's prone to showing marks easily. I find myself wiping it clean frequently to keep it looking pristine, which can be a bit inconvenient.
TipFor a stunning look, try applying a light pink lipstick all over your lips, then use the NARS pencil just on the inner part. This technique naturally defines the color and makes your lips appear more vibrant! It's such a versatile product.

It has a pleasant cherry scent, and when applied, it's like turning on a spotlight for your lips.
ConsThe price is a bit high, so you might want to look for discounts. As it's a matte lipstick, it can be somewhat drying and may slightly emphasize dead skin cells.
TipThis product looks better when applied boldly rather than lightly, as a light application gives more of a pink tint. I'm planning to wear it frequently this fall!

Pair it with a bold eyeliner for a totally chic look.
ConsThe pencil type is a bit inconvenient as you need to sharpen it. You'll have to buy a sharpener separately too.

It's on the matte side, so for someone like me with dry lips, a lip balm was definitely necessary!
ConsSince you have to sharpen it to use, it's a bit wasteful and annoying when some of the product gets shaved off!

It applies smoothly too. To be honest, it's neither particularly bad nor exceptionally good - just a solid, reliable product.
ConsThe only issue is that the shade doesn't suit me personally, but I didn't really notice any flaws with the product itself.
TipThe deep undertone doesn't quite work for me.

This alone can make your face look bright and clean. Nothing beats it for achieving the perfect red matte lip. It's matte but doesn't accentuate dead skin cells at all, and there's almost no drag when applying, making it feel like a whole new world of matte lip products. It's clearly matte, but doesn't sit on top of the lips - instead, it adheres naturally. Even after application, it doesn't look particularly dry, so I use it often. It creates a natural look similar to a tint. I can 100% strongly recommend this product even to those who usually dislike matte lip pencils.
ConsThe downside is that being a lip pencil, you need to sharpen it. And it comes off more easily than expected. It evaporates after eating anything. While it looks like a tint, its staying power is slightly weaker than an actual tint.
TipFor a naturally beautiful red lip that's not too intense, just swipe it on your lips once and then blend it out with your pinky finger.
