I deliberately applied heavy makeup and challenged it with my cleansing routine. Surprisingly, it removed everything thoroughly, felt gentle, and didn't leave my skin feeling dry.
ConsIt stings a bit if it gets in your eyes. Although it's advertised for use on the body as well, I found it doesn't lather much for body use, so I'll stick to using it on my face. Since it contains only naturally-derived ingredients, I'm willing to accept these minor drawbacks.
TipFirst, wash your hands. Then, pump the product 3 times onto dry hands and massage it thoroughly onto your face. Afterwards, wet your hands and continue massaging to create a rich lather. Rinse thoroughly with water. If you don't rinse well enough, it might leave a slightly slippery feeling, in my experience.

ConsWhile it occasionally goes on sale, the price is still a bit steep for a cleanser

Instead, it feels soft and supple.
ConsIf you prefer that squeaky-clean feeling after washing your face, you might want to try a different product.

It leaves my skin so smooth that I don't need separate exfoliation. It thoroughly removes sebum around the nose and even cleans off lip tint perfectly. Plus, the ingredients are excellent. I bought it from a home shopping channel, and if it comes up again, I'm definitely stocking up!
ConsThe peppermint can cause a slight tingling sensation in the eyes during cleansing. I suppose that's because it's so refreshing!
TipOn days when you're wearing light makeup, try using it like a cleansing oil - massage it without water, then rinse off. You'll notice it's even more effective at cleansing and leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft. That's what works for me!

After trying it, I'm pleased enough to leave a review. I use it to remove makeup, and just one application thoroughly cleanses my face makeup. It even removes most of my mascara and eyeshadow. For heavier makeup, I might use it twice, but it's gentle and doesn't irritate my skin. My husband, who has dry skin, uses it as a body cleanser and says his skin feels less dry after using it.
ConsIt doesn't completely remove mascara, glittery eyeshadow, or eye pencil in one go. You need to use a separate lip and eye makeup remover first for those.

Living abroad, I bought it for around $12 during a sale, down from its usual $15 price tag. On days when I wear light makeup, I use this alone. Unless I'm wearing heavy eye makeup, gently cleansing twice usually removes almost everything. Plus, my skin doesn't feel tight after washing.
ConsWhen removing eye makeup, it's fine if you keep your eyes tightly closed, but being a soap-based product, it can sting quite a bit if it gets in your eyes. I tried using it as an all-in-one shampoo, but it made my hair feel too dry. Using conditioner afterwards helps, though it might leave your hair feeling a bit greasy.
TipOne pump is enough to create plenty of lather with a foam net. You can gently cleanse with your hands for everyday use. For a more thorough makeup removal, try using a cleansing brush. When you want a deep cleanse, an electric brush works great.

It's reassuring to use with my child too. I've used Dr. Bronner's for a long time, but it always left my skin feeling dry. This one is noticeably less drying. Most importantly, my daughter used to complain about stinging when Dr. Bronner's foam barely touched her sensitive areas, but she has no such issues with this. The ingredients definitely seem gentler.
ConsSince it doesn't lather much, you tend to use more product. Also, I'm not a fan of the peppermint scent, but I do like the tangerine one.

While it doesn't lather much, you get used to it. The ingredients seem to be high-quality, as I haven't experienced any blemishes. I've been using it for over six months now.
ConsThe Tangerine one is fine for cleansing, but the Peppermint has such a strong scent that it stings my eyes. So I only use it for washing my hair and body.

However, it's better to use those first before this cleanser. After using this, my blemishes have significantly reduced. It's so gentle that even babies can use it!
ConsIt doesn't seem to provide much hydration, unfortunately. I can't think of any other downsides... Oh, it's a non-foaming product. People who like foam might be surprised, but the lack of foaming agents actually makes it gentler and better for the skin.
TipBuying directly from overseas is cheaper! Regular stores are even more expensive. You can use it anywhere on your body. I recommend the Tangerine scent over Peppermint. The Peppermint has a stronger, more intense feeling.

I've been using it from pregnancy through postpartum, and now with my baby. Being 100% natural, our whole family uses it with peace of mind. While it's said to replace cleansing cream and foam, I use it as a liquid soap. It's gentle and doesn't cause any deep dryness, which is great for bath time too. Although iHerb is no longer an option, you can find good deals if you look for direct purchases. I love that it's a fair trade product, so the profits go to a good cause. Consumers get a fair price, so there's no reason not to buy it. I plan to repurchase this for life.
ConsThis seems well-suited for dry to normal skin types. After cleansing, it leaves the skin hydrated without any tightness. The scent and texture aren't particularly bothersome. As an all-in-one product, I use it for the whole body, but I only wash my baby's hair with it. For myself, I use a different brand of natural shampoo. It's a bit thick in consistency.
TipI've heard Alaffia also has a 100% shea butter product. After showering with black soap, melting a bit of this oil and applying it all over your body could be the ultimate in hydration. You can get it on iHerb for about $8,600? The Alaffia brand is truly a hidden gem.
