Pros
I care about my skincare routine as much as my body products, and this one is a winner. With its gentle ingredients and fragrance-free formula, it never gets boring. Pros
1. When I first applied it, I was really impressed! The texture is moisturizing yet refreshing, which is perfect for my oily skin. I was genuinely surprised by how much I loved the formula. It doesn't feel sticky at all and leaves a clean finish on the skin! 2. The packaging is so convenient - you don't need to unscrew a cap. Just flip it open, squeeze out the product, and snap it shut. It's super easy to use!
Cons
To be honest, I didn't really want to write this review... I simply added this to my existing skincare routine, but something didn't agree with my skin. It caused a bad reaction and my skin completely broke out. I had a really hard time dealing with it. I understand this might just be my personal experience! The texture and packaging are still great and convenient. I'd still recommend trying it for yourself because of the formula... but proceed with caution.

Pros
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. The texture is slightly sticky, like a runny nose? I liked that it doesn't flow like water. It absorbs extremely well, sinking into the skin with a nice, firm feel. I really enjoyed using it! Just applying this alone seems to help with dryness to some extent. For those with oily skin, this and a light moisturizer might be enough. As I have combination skin that tends to feel dry, I use this with an ampoule and a moisturizing cream. Before, when using other products, I had to apply ampoule, essence, hydrating cream, and moisturizing cream, but with this, I feel hydrated even with fewer layers.
Cons
There wasn't really anything I found disappointing. The amount is generous, and I didn't feel like anything was lacking while using it.

Initially, I wasn't impressed as I dislike residual slipperiness or stickiness, but upon use, I found it doesn't leave much of a slick feeling and absorbs quite quickly. I appreciated the moderate hydration it provides. In my opinion, it might work well for those with oily skin as a light essence. It offers some hydration without leaving an oily residue, making it potentially suitable for blemish-prone or oily skin types. As someone with dry skin that's prone to occasional blemishes, I noticed a significant reduction in my skin issues while using this. I think it might be due to the product helping balance my skin's oil and moisture levels. It also feels gentler than my previous essence. As a representative of super sensitive skin, I found this product to be quite mild.
Cons
The main drawback is that while it might provide adequate hydration for oily skin types, it falls short for my dry skin. It wasn't effective in addressing deep dryness. When I ask myself if I'd spend my own money on this product after finishing it, I'm hesitant. It lacks a standout feature that would make it truly exceptional, which is disappointing.

When applied, it felt gentle on my skin and didn't cause any blemishes. The container fits perfectly in hand, and I appreciated that the lid doesn't need to be twisted open. It's not sticky, and once absorbed, it leaves a powdery finish similar to aloe soothing gel.
Cons
Before using this product, I used an ampoule toner from another brand, which kept my skin from feeling dry on its own. I expected this 'essence toner' to provide a rich, deep hydration, but I was disappointed that it left my skin feeling powdery after absorption. Even when used with a hyaluronic acid ampoule, my skin still felt dry, so I think it needs to be paired with a cream rather than used alone.

I always make sure to include a toner in my skincare routine, but I dislike heavy or suffocating products. The Pyunkang Yul toner impressed me right away because it absorbs well without feeling like it's just sitting on top of my skin. True to its name as an 'essence toner', it's not as light as a water-based toner, but it's also not sticky or heavy. After it absorbs, it leaves a wonderfully fresh finish while keeping my skin hydrated. I used to have oily skin, but lately I've been struggling with deep dryness. I love that I can layer this toner multiple times after my exfoliating toner, just like I would with multiple layers of hydration. It builds up moisture without any pilling, which I really appreciate.
Cons
It has a scent reminiscent of herbs or chaga mushroom. While I personally enjoy this kind of fragrance, it might be an acquired taste for some. I usually use it as an essence to boost absorption rather than as an exfoliating toner, applying it directly with my hands. On days when my skin feels particularly dry, I soak a cotton pad generously and use it as a mask pack. It's fascinating how it initially glides on smoothly, then feels slightly sticky as it begins to absorb, but with a few gentle pats, it sinks right in, leaving my skin feeling incredibly hydrated. With winter and indoor heating, my skin used to dry out quickly, but since using this product, that feeling has noticeably decreased. This non-sticky toner absorbs quickly! Actually, my skin is super sensitive and usually turns red with sticky products, so I'm very satisfied just with the fact that it's not sticky! I use it by first applying it as an exfoliating toner with a cotton pad, then I pour a bit into my hands and press it into my skin to boost hydration!
Cons
For a Pyunkang Yul essence toner, it provides hydration but seems a bit lacking in moisture retention! I think it would be good to use this toner for hydration and then follow up with an oil-based cream in the next step to lock in the moisture!
