ㅡ Hwahae Trial Reviewer Review ㅡ 1. Contrary to appearance, incredible absorption! The texture seems heavy, slightly viscous, but the moment I apply it to my face, it gets absorbed completely. Even when I apply a generous amount, there's no time for it to roll around on my face before it gets fully absorbed. There's no stickiness whatsoever. 2. Excellent oil-moisture balance. It's almost like a toner with a slight oily feel to it... It applies lightly, and thanks to the oily quality, it seems to create an invisible skin barrier while providing moisture. It's refreshing and lightweight, yet not drying - it's quite amazing. The fragrance is not for me. It's reminiscent of body odor, second only to the '*fermented essence' in my dislike. I wish they could somehow remove this scent, even if it means adding artificial fragrance. In the summer, I think this essence would be sufficient to use on its own. But in the recent cold winters, after cleansing, I found it works well to apply this essence and then generously layer an aloe-based light soothing gel on top before bed. The essence alone provides a good oil-moisture balance, so using a heavy cream on top would feel too much. The lightweight, non-oily aloe gel pairs nicely. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinDec 4, 2017
This is a review from the Hwahae Trial Reviewer. Skin type: Dry with some redness 1. Texture and absorption It has a slightly viscous, milky color. The product is not as runny as water, but has a medium consistency between a toner and a lotion, so I was able to apply it directly to my face without using a cotton pad. I tried using it by soaking a cotton pad and wiping it off, but you really need to use a generous amount. The product has a thin, lotion-like texture, so it's better to apply it directly with your hands rather than wiping it off. This helps with smoothing out the skin texture and improving absorption. What surprised me was that although it feels slightly tacky when first applied, that sensation disappears quickly as the product gets absorbed. After that, my skin feels moisturized and soft, so the absorption is really good. I'd give it a high rating for this. 2. Functionality It seems to have a good balance of moisture and oil. Even when I just used the essence and this lotion, my skin didn't feel dry. In the winter, my skin tends to get flaky and rough, but during the time I used this, my skin didn't feel parched or uneven, and had a nice, adequate level of hydration. It also didn't cause any breakouts or redness, even when I used a generous amount. While it claims to have whitening and anti-aging benefits, I can't really evaluate those effects after just 2 weeks of use. But I'm satisfied with its moisturizing performance and skin-smoothing effects. The gold-colored cap and simple design give the product a luxurious look, and the glass bottle feels substantial and heavy. Since it's not a pump bottle, you have to turn it over and tap it onto your palm to dispense the product, which can be a bit inconvenient due to the slightly viscous texture. This makes the weight of the bottle more noticeable. This is a minor downside I noticed. When I first opened and smelled the product, I got a nostalgic, old-fashioned scent that reminded me of my mom's old cosmetics. The fragrance may be divisive, as people will likely have different preferences. (Personally, after using it for about 2 weeks, I've grown more accustomed to the rich, sweet scent and now find it quite pleasant.) If the main goals are to improve skin texture and provide hydration, it seems more effective to apply the product directly to the face with your hands rather than using a cotton pad to wipe it off. Applying it directly helps with skin smoothing and absorption. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 3, 2017
#After using it for about a week, here is the Hwahae Trial Reviewer's review# My skin is sad and has lost its elasticity due to acne. And my T-zone is oily, while my U-zone is dry. These days, as I work in an office where the heater is blasting, I feel even more dryness. 1. Moisturizing It's not just a light, simple moisturizing, but it maintains moisture while being moisturizing, you know? I don't really like heavy moisturizers. But the Signature First Essence is not heavy, and when I apply it, it absorbs well into the skin, leaving a moisturizing sensation. 2. Absorbs well into the skin and gives a radiant glow. Moisturizers are often heavy in texture and don't absorb immediately, but this one absorbs well into the skin. And my skin looks radiant. ㅎㅎ 3. Luxurious bottle design The bottle is really luxurious. When I first received it, I thought 'Wow, it's so luxurious and pretty.' It looks so beautiful on my vanity. 1. Artificial fragrance While others say the floral or fruity scent is good, as I generally use fragrance-free cosmetics, this scent feels a bit artificial to me and I had a slight aversion to it. If the scent was more subtle, it would have been better. 2. Efficacy of whitening and wrinkle improvement functional cosmetics? This is not so much a drawback, but since I've only used it for about a week, I haven't really noticed the effects. While it does provide good moisturizing, I'm not sure if the whitening and wrinkle improvement effects will show up over time, but I'm not sure yet. In the office where the heater is blasting, my U-zone feels dry, so I apply a little extra, and it seems to replenish the moisture, which is good. - Hwahae UserDry SkinDec 2, 2017
Here is the English translation of the Korean text, with the requested synonym applied: Hwahae Trial Reviewer review! This is my first time being selected as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer, so I was really excited!! I was happy to receive the full-size product. I have dry skin, and while I don't have any noticeable blemishes or spots, my skin looks dull and yellowish when my skin condition is poor. I've tried dozens of products before, but they didn't seem to work, so I've been on a bit of a cosmetics diet, using only a toner, essence, eye cream, day moisturizer, and cica cream at night. My first impression was... hmm... like my mom's or grandma's cosmetics? The packaging also seems a bit too classic and over-the-top. The scent also reminds me of the lotion my grandma used. I was expecting a water-based essence, but the texture is more like an essence, which was a bit surprising. It applies smoothly and absorbs quickly. At first, I only used it once, as it felt a bit heavy, but when I applied it 3 times with some time in between, I liked it much better. I apply it directly with my hands after cleansing, without using a cotton pad. Using this alone keeps my skin from feeling dry, so I sometimes forget to apply the follow-up cream. I think this product is a good match for the chilly, dry weather these days. My skin isn't bad to begin with, so at first, I thought it was just an okay moisturizing product. But after using it consistently for about 2 weeks, I noticed my skin texture improved, and my skin looks more radiant. With the dryness resolved, my skin texture and glow have definitely improved. I'm prone to whiteheads, and while I'm not sure if it's from this product or the exfoliating oil I use, the bumpy area under my chin has also calmed down a lot. It claims to care for radiance, hydration, skin texture, skin tone, elasticity, and wrinkles, but the effects on skin tone, elasticity, and wrinkles are hard to evaluate in the short term. The other benefits, however, have been satisfactory. The packaging design is a bit too classic. And the jar format where you scoop out the product with your hands is not the most convenient. It's grown on me a bit, but when I first used it, the fragrance was really artificial and unpleasant. It reminded me of cheap candy. I took off one star because of the fragrance. It's a strong scent that seems to divide people. It would be better if the fragrance was more subtle. For those with dry skin like me, I'd recommend applying it with your hands in 3 layers, like I do. It really helps resolve the inner dryness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinNov 30, 2017
First of all, I tried using a First Essence, but it felt almost watery (I've tried Cynique, Missha, and SK-II). The texture felt a bit unique. It's an essence-like texture, but slightly thinner! The fact that it's non-irritating to the skin was a plus. I didn't experience any skin troubles even after applying it and going to sleep. I usually get breakouts when using oils or heavy creams, but this felt lightweight. After using this and an eye cream for almost 2 weeks, the reddish blemishes on my cheeks have reduced a bit. (I don't apply a lot of skincare products as I find them stuffy, and breaking out when trying different things. But I have a dry, dehydrated skin type. I'd rather choose dryness over breakouts.) And since I'm only using one product, the First Essence applies lightly on the skin and gets absorbed well as it's the first step. After application, my skin feels wrapped in a thin hydrating layer, giving a dewy, supple look. And since it's not a water-based formula, it doesn't spread around messily. First of all, I don't like the packaging. It's not a pump bottle, so I have to scoop it out, which can make the opening dirty. It doesn't seem very hygienic. And I got this because it was selected by the Hwahae Trial Reviewers, but seeing the price of around 40,000 won, I thought it was expensive. Though it may last longer than a water-based formula, it's still quite pricey. And the fragrance is quite artificial. It has a plum-like scent, and at first application, the fragrance was quite strong, making me worry if it would be irritating. If you apply it 2-3 times with some time in between, your skin will feel more supple, and your makeup will adhere better on top. If you're looking to simplify your skincare routine, this could be a good option. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 24, 2017
☆Hwahae Trial Reviewer Review☆ At first, I didn't feel very eager to try the First Essence as I hadn't used it before. However, I bravely opened it to write the review! After applying the essence and then the toner, I was worried that the moisturizing or other aspects might be lacking. But that concern soon disappeared.^^ 1. First of all, the glass container... it's been so long since I've seen one. Is this for middle-aged women? Should I give it to my mom? I was momentarily flustered, but I'm satisfied with the generous amount. 2. I have combination skin, but I tend to focus on moisturizing. Instead of using the enclosed puff, I patted the essence vigorously with my palms. The essence is quite thin, with a lotion-like feel. It absorbs quickly, so you don't have to wait too long. 3. The moisturizing power is great! I was worried it might feel heavy, but the next day my makeup went on well, and even by the end of the day, there was no flakiness or oiliness, just a nice, soft feel.^^ Overall, it seems like a good lightweight option. I'm not sure how it would perform in the very cold winter, but seeing how well it works in the dry spring, I think I can trust it to take care of my skin even in the winter. First of all... the heaviness, as mentioned by others. It's been a while since I've used such a substantial cosmetic product - it has an old-fashioned feel. If you want to experience the feeling of secretly using your mom's makeup when you were younger, go ahead and buy it!ㅋㅋ The scent is... somehow ambiguous. What is this scent? I find myself pondering it for a long time. Since I have rhinitis, I can't really smell it, but I wish I could stick it up my nose just to figure out what it is! It's intriguing, and I really want to identify the scent. If you dislike thin, runny cosmetic formulas, this might not be the best choice for you. It doesn't drip down like a toner, but at first, you might doubt whether the thin texture is a good thing. However, once you start using it, your perception will likely change. If you pat the essence onto your face with your palms, it absorbs quickly.^^ - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 15, 2017
*Hwahae Trial Reviewer Review:-) 1. It's moisturizing ㅎㅎ There's no dry feeling~ There's a bit of oiliness (the kind where you can wipe your hand over your face at the end of the day and see some oil come off), but it doesn't seem too bad for the current weather. 1. The name is Twenty, but the scent is 50's... The scent is very artificial and strong ㅠ It's like a chemical floral scent... ? Some people might like it, but as someone who prefers natural, unscented fragrances, I don't like it ㅠ 2. The opening is just a round hole, so you have to tap it to dispense the product, which raises hygiene concerns and is a bit inconvenient to use. 3. The above two points are matters of personal preference that can be overlooked, but the crucial issue is that it causes breakouts... ㅠㅠ It didn't create new blemishes, but it seems to have aggravated existing trouble spots into full-blown pimples ㅠㅠㅠ I didn't have high expectations for whitening or wrinkle improvement, but if it causes this much trouble, it's difficult to use ㅠ It's been less than a week, so I'm not sure about the whitening and wrinkle improvement effects yet ㅠ Once the acne calms down, I'll try it again and add to the review. - Hwahae UserOily SkinApr 14, 2017
This product is a first essence type, but the lightweight formula allows me to complete my basic skincare routine in just a few quick steps, which was very useful for my short morning routine. The cotton pads provided were also a pleasant surprise, as they helped instantly refine my skin texture. The application was better than expected, and the absorption was fast despite the rich texture. Even though my skin is a dry-oily type, the appropriate amount of oil content was great, and my skin stayed hydrated all day long. The glass bottle feels luxurious and has a nice weight to it, making it comfortable to hold. Hmm... the fragrance is not natural, but rather artificial, and the lingering scent lasted throughout my entire skincare routine. Those with fragrance sensitivities or allergies may find this challenging. Additionally, as a first essence, the formula is quite dense, which made it feel burdensome to apply all the subsequent base products. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 13, 2017
✔️Hwahae Trial Reviewer Review First, when I opened the packaging, I was pleased with the premium-looking container (I tend to prefer containers with a heavier feel rather than lightweight ones). The gold-colored embossed lid added to the sense of anticipation for the product. The texture is a translucent, watery emulsion, as shown in the photo. I've been alternating between using this and the Laneige Cream Skin Refiner, and this one is definitely more moisturizing than the Laneige. The Laneige felt moisturizing at first, but the hydration didn't last as long. After using this product for two days, it didn't cause any issues for my dry, sensitive, and redness-prone skin. During those two days, I only used this product and a moisturizer, and I didn't experience any dryness, cakey makeup, or emphasized pores (though this could also be due to changes in my application method). While I did feel it was a bit sticky when testing on the back of my hand, it felt fine when applied to my face - just the right amount of moisture. (Oily-skinned individuals may find it a bit sticky, especially in the summer.) I was a bit worried about the fragrance in the ingredient list, and sure enough, when I tested it on the back of my hand, the artificial scent surprised me. It's not a fragrance I personally enjoy. However, when I applied it to my face, the scent wasn't as strong, likely due to it blending with my other products. Since I try to minimize touching my face as much as possible, the pump or dropper-style container would have been more convenient than the shake-to-dispense format. Additionally, some people may find the amount dispensed to be too little, which could be frustrating. Applying it in thin, layered applications and patting it in can help make the texture more dense and bouncy.
