I tend to pick at my skin when I get breakouts, leaving quite a few scars. Just when I think they're fading, I get stressed by new acne or pimples that seem to constantly renew themselves. I'm still on the hunt for my holy grail, always living a nomadic skincare life. Currently, this product has been repackaged from a jar to a tube, but I'm reviewing the pre-repackaged version that I had stocked up on. 1. Blemish-soothing effect: Recently, a friend recommended La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm for skin repair. When I tried it, the texture felt oddly familiar despite being new to me. Then it hit me - it reminded me of this A'pieu Zinc Cream! The slightly thick texture that can pill a bit, the white cast when applied, and even the scent were very similar. Curious, I wanted to experiment if the effects would be similar too. Prepared for potential skin irritation, I applied it generously before bed. The results were amazing! Inflamed acne started to calm down, and the small pimples that had been bothering me seemed to disappear as if they were never there. And this was just overnight! I was shocked by these unbelievable results and became a devoted fan of A'pieu Zinc Cream. Skeptical but hopeful, I've been applying it generously morning and night for about six days now, and it's still effectively managing my blemishes without any issues. This review is based on about six days of use. I'll update if any new breakouts occur with continued use. So far, the blemish-soothing effect has been excellent. 2. Skin texture improvement: After applying this product generously and sleeping, I notice a difference in my skin texture when I wash my face in the morning. I finally understand what that 'baby-soft skin texture' I've only read about feels like. I realize this must be how my mom with great skin feels every day. Every morning, I wet my face with a mix of joy and envy. Even if it's not overnight, but just a short nap, I can definitely feel the difference in texture after washing my face when I've applied this cream.
Cons1. Thick, hard-to-spread texture: The application is very thick and difficult. This was true when I first bought it and remains consistent now. Due to its very thick texture, the key is to spread it well on your face. It feels like applying slightly watered-down clay to your face. You do get used to it and develop techniques, but as someone who used to just scoop and pat creams on my face, I've had to develop an uncharacteristic delicacy in application. 2. White cast: Perhaps due to the zinc content, there's a significant white cast. I've truly learned what it means for a product to leave a white cast on your face. I've discovered you can achieve geisha-like makeup with just this skincare product. 3. Pore-clogging and pilling: This might be the biggest drawback of the thick, hard-to-spread texture. It really clogs pores and pills a lot. Absolutely do not think about applying makeup over this... Unless you want to count every single pore on your face or you love your pores so much you want everyone to see them, do not even consider putting makeup on top of this cream. I'll say it three times because it's important: Don't do it. It cakes up terribly. And it pills excessively. Even on its own, if you apply too much, it rolls off like dead skin. Trying to layer makeup on top? That's self-sabotage. Unless you want to be known as the person whose face produces noodles, please resist.
TipDespite the drawbacks of the thick texture, pilling, and white cast, I'm still using it happily because the blemish-soothing and skin texture improvement effects are so satisfying. As emphasized above, I strongly recommend not using this before makeup. That's why I highly suggest using it at night. Apply it generously to your face before bed, and when you wash your face in the morning, you'll feel the difference in your skin texture overnight. However, 'applying generously' doesn't mean globbing on a large amount at once. Instead, I recommend applying small amounts and spreading them as wide as possible, repeating this process to build up layers. This seems to reduce the white cast and pilling. For particularly prominent blemishes, leaving a thicker white layer overnight seems to provide faster soothing effects. I recommend this method for red, swollen pimples that aren't ready to be popped. Alternatively, applying it thickly like a clay mask and then washing it off can help with immediate skin texture improvement. Personally, I found it most effective when used with sleep. I dare to predict that if you've been satisfied with La Roche-Posay products, you'll likely be pleased with this one too. It's also much more economical, so if it works well for you, it could become a real holy grail item.

My blemishes seem to have calmed down a bit too. Plus, the amount you get for the price is fantastic - it's such great value! While it might not work wonders on already inflamed or pustular blemishes, it's really effective for irritated or rough skin!
ConsThe texture is quite thick, which can't be helped, but since it comes in a jar, it tends to collect a bit of dust!
TipIt works wonders if you apply a thick layer on troubled areas before going to bed!

I've attached a photo, but please be aware it might be a bit graphic. My cheeks were always red, but after applying this cream generously before bed, I'd wake up to see the redness significantly reduced. I've almost finished the jar now, and my complexion has become much more stable. It seems to work wonders for blemishes too. Whenever I feel a small pimple coming up, I apply a thick layer of this cream like it's a spot treatment. After a few days, it gradually subsides and disappears. While its hydration might not be as intense as Cicative Calcium, it's clear that its soothing properties are more prominent than its moisturizing effects. If your skin is feeling particularly sensitive or your skin condition isn't great, try using it as an overnight mask. Apply it generously before bed, and you'll likely notice a significant improvement in your skin's condition the next morning. Personally, I've seen amazing results with closed comedones. My skin was in terrible shape at one point. I tried using Stridex (the red box) for daily exfoliation and slathering on Aromatica's aloe gel, thinking closed comedones were caused by dead skin cells and dehydration. But instead of improving, it just got worse. I bought this cream on a whim because it was cheap, intending to use it as an emulsion. But the results were incredible. As you can see in the photo, my entire cheeks were covered in closed comedones that wouldn't pop. I'd heard that whiteheads were sebum plugs trapped by dead skin cells, so I tried managing it with Stridex, but it didn't help. Stridex is expensive and needs to be imported, so I did some research and found a much cheaper alternative available in Korean pharmacies called Cleartin. It has the same ingredients as Stridex. I used Cleartin for exfoliation and this cream instead of aloe gel. After a few months of consistent use, my skin improved dramatically! As you can see in the photo, the bumps have subsided, and the red marks are just scars from previous breakouts. I really hope this combination of Cleartin and this cream can help those struggling with deep, unpoppable blemishes or closed comedones. I bought the Aromatica aloe gel after reading reviews saying it was good for closed comedones, but it didn't work for me at all!
ConsWhile Cicative Calcium has a soft texture that absorbs well into the skin, this zinc cream doesn't feel like it absorbs as effectively. It's fine if you apply a small amount, but if you use too much, it doesn't seem to sink in. Instead of absorbing, it feels more like it's sitting on top of your skin, almost like a mask. The texture is soft but slightly thick, which makes it a bit challenging to use as a moisturizer before makeup. It can leave a white cast, especially if it gets into your eyebrows. While the residue does eventually disappear, I wouldn't recommend using it in the morning before applying makeup unless you use an extremely thin layer. My suggestion would be to use Cicative Calcium in the morning, and save this zinc cream for nighttime use, as a spot treatment for blemishes, or as an overnight mask when your skin is red and irritated. That's when it seems to be most effective.
TipThis product works best when used: - On reddened skin - As a spot treatment on areas with blemishes - Applied generously all over the face when your skin condition isn't great If you have very dry skin, I'd recommend Cicative Calcium. For those with dry but sensitive skin, try using Calcium in the morning and this zinc cream at night as a sleeping mask. This approach seems to yield the best results.

While I don't usually have acne, I did have some small blemishes. During the time I used this product, I noticed they significantly calmed down.
ConsThe texture is definitely on the thicker side, making it a bit challenging to spread evenly. Because of this, I felt some irritation on my skin while applying it.

It also worked well when I applied it after eyebrow grooming when my skin was red.
ConsI don't think it had any outstanding effects. The soothing effect feels like it could be achieved with any other cream... Still, Hwahae says it has zero harmful ingredients, so that's reassuring. However, it's definitely thick, so oily skin types might not be able to use it. Also, the texture isn't light enough to apply like a hydrating moisturizer.
TipIt might be suitable for those with dry skin.
