This cream is great for soothing sensitive skin when applied generously or as a spot treatment on blemishes. Initially, I wasn't sure how to use it properly, so I applied it after popping pimples. Luckily, that wasn't entirely wrong! It spreads like whipped cream and leaves a white cast, so it's best to apply before bed. It absorbs well without any residue, making it perfect for oily and combination dehydrated skin. Unfortunately, this product has been discontinued. I think it would have been even better if it came in a spot treatment form or with a smaller quantity. - ko****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 7, 2020
I have sensitive, combination, blemish-prone, combination dehydrated skin. I tend to pick at my skin when I get breakouts, leaving quite a few scars. Just when I think they're fading, I get stressed by new acne or pimples that seem to constantly renew themselves. I'm still on the hunt for my holy grail, always living a nomadic skincare life. Currently, this product has been repackaged from a jar to a tube, but I'm reviewing the pre-repackaged version that I had stocked up on. 1. Blemish-soothing effect: Recently, a friend recommended La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm for skin repair. When I tried it, the texture felt oddly familiar despite being new to me. Then it hit me - it reminded me of this A'pieu Zinc Cream! The slightly thick texture that can pill a bit, the white cast when applied, and even the scent were very similar. Curious, I wanted to experiment if the effects would be similar too. Prepared for potential skin irritation, I applied it generously before bed. The results were amazing! Inflamed acne started to calm down, and the small pimples that had been bothering me seemed to disappear as if they were never there. And this was just overnight! I was shocked by these unbelievable results and became a devoted fan of A'pieu Zinc Cream. Skeptical but hopeful, I've been applying it generously morning and night for about six days now, and it's still effectively managing my blemishes without any issues. This review is based on about six days of use. I'll update if any new breakouts occur with continued use. So far, the blemish-soothing effect has been excellent. 2. Skin texture improvement: After applying this product generously and sleeping, I notice a difference in my skin texture when I wash my face in the morning. I finally understand what that 'baby-soft skin texture' I've only read about feels like. I realize this must be how my mom with great skin feels every day. Every morning, I wet my face with a mix of joy and envy. Even if it's not overnight, but just a short nap, I can definitely feel the difference in texture after washing my face when I've applied this cream. 1. Thick, hard-to-spread texture: The application is very thick and difficult. This was true when I first bought it and remains consistent now. Due to its very thick texture, the key is to spread it well on your face. It feels like applying slightly watered-down clay to your face. You do get used to it and develop techniques, but as someone who used to just scoop and pat creams on my face, I've had to develop an uncharacteristic delicacy in application. 2. White cast: Perhaps due to the zinc content, there's a significant white cast. I've truly learned what it means for a product to leave a white cast on your face. I've discovered you can achieve geisha-like makeup with just this skincare product. 3. Pore-clogging and pilling: This might be the biggest drawback of the thick, hard-to-spread texture. It really clogs pores and pills a lot. Absolutely do not think about applying makeup over this... Unless you want to count every single pore on your face or you love your pores so much you want everyone to see them, do not even consider putting makeup on top of this cream. I'll say it three times because it's important: Don't do it. It cakes up terribly. And it pills excessively. Even on its own, if you apply too much, it rolls off like dead skin. Trying to layer makeup on top? That's self-sabotage. Unless you want to be known as the person whose face produces noodles, please resist. Despite the drawbacks of the thick texture, pilling, and white cast, I'm still using it happily because the blemish-soothing and skin texture improvement effects are so satisfying. As emphasized above, I strongly recommend not using this before makeup. That's why I highly suggest using it at night. Apply it generously to your face before bed, and when you wash your face in the morning, you'll feel the difference in your skin texture overnight. However, 'applying generously' doesn't mean globbing on a large amount at once. Instead, I recommend applying small amounts and spreading them as wide as possible, repeating this process to build up layers. This seems to reduce the white cast and pilling. For particularly prominent blemishes, leaving a thicker white layer overnight seems to provide faster soothing effects. I recommend this method for red, swollen pimples that aren't ready to be popped. Alternatively, applying it thickly like a clay mask and then washing it off can help with immediate skin texture improvement. Personally, I found it most effective when used with sleep. I dare to predict that if you've been satisfied with La Roche-Posay products, you'll likely be pleased with this one too. It's also much more economical, so if it works well for you, it could become a real holy grail item. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 23, 2019
After using this cream, all the blemishes that had surfaced disappeared. Of course, scars and pigmentation remained unchanged. It feels a bit thick when applied directly to bare skin, so I layer it on after toner and emulsion for better absorption. It seems to have a calming effect on the skin. If you have acne-prone skin, you absolutely must try this. I'm confident you'll see 100% results. I've been using it for less than a week, and even though my acne wasn't severe to begin with, I can feel my skin improving gradually. It's not without a somewhat thick texture when used alone, and it can make your skin look too white. Don't go outside right after applying this. If I need to go out, I only use a small amount. With a small amount, it gives a natural brightening effect. However, I wouldn't use this for its brightening effect if I'm planning to go out. As a cream, it's just a simple moisturizer. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 20, 2019
You really need to apply just a tiny amount to avoid pilling, making this product last forever! When I apply it thickly on blemishes before bed, it turns white, making me look like I'm seeking attention, but it works wonders for me. It's a shame there aren't many reviews... Still, I've probably gone through about two tubes. The formula is quite finicky to apply. At first, it was a disaster with pilling and patching. Apply carefully! Also, once it sets, it won't stick together, so you need to apply it quickly. - dm********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 20, 2019
It seems fine when applied thinly in small amounts. It's good for applying to areas prone to blemishes or areas you're concerned about. If you apply too much, it feels like it might cause more issues, so you should only use a little. A'PIEU is generous with samples, so try it before you buy. - cd*******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 20, 2019
I tried this after liking Sidmool's zinc cream. Compared to Sidmool's product, which is thicker and needs to be dotted on and patted for absorption, leaving skin feeling firm, the A'PIEU one applies more smoothly. However, it doesn't absorb as well and feels a bit like it's sitting on the skin. So I use both products for different purposes! Here's a pro tip: The jar packaging allows dust to stick to the cream, unfortunately. I wanted to use it as a base product, but since I didn't like the feeling of it not fully absorbing, I apply it thickly as a soothing treatment when my skin is red or after extracting sebum. It might look a bit silly, but when I'm at home, I slather it on my face until it's white and patchy. Then I wipe it off with toner-soaked cotton pads - it works great for calming the skin! - es****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedAug 24, 2019
It definitely seems to calm down my blemishes a bit when I apply it! If you apply too much, it might pill slightly, similar to dead skin cells. I use it as the final step in my skincare routine! - do*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 29, 2019
Skin type: Dry, sensitive, with slightly bumpy texture in the T-zone Personally, I love that it comes in a tube container. The application is smooth, similar to sunscreen with a creamy texture that glides on effortlessly. After applying, there's no tightness, and it feels like it wraps around the skin comfortably. There's also a slight brightening effect that evens skin tone. If I had to pick something, I'd say I'm not entirely sure about its effectiveness. - je********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 13, 2019
I apply this when my skin gets irritated after removing blackheads. It definitely helps calm down the redness! It feels quite heavy, so make sure to use it only at night. It goes on thick, almost like you're applying a layer of sunscreen. - pc**Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 29, 2019
I really get along well with zinc-based products, and this one is so soothing and great! My blemishes seem to have calmed down a bit too. Plus, the amount you get for the price is fantastic - it's such great value! While it might not work wonders on already inflamed or pustular blemishes, it's really effective for irritated or rough skin! The texture is quite thick, which can't be helped, but since it comes in a jar, it tends to collect a bit of dust! It works wonders if you apply a thick layer on troubled areas before going to bed!
