Since I usually only apply cushion foundation, I just dab on some lip color. With just a quick application of cushion and this lip product, I look put-together. The color is truly outstanding. It's redder than a completely nude tone, and on my lips, it feels more like a coral-pink rather than a pure pink. It would be sufficient even when worn with eye makeup.
ConsIt's such a shame that only the color is great. I know my lips are dry, but this is too extreme! Usually, with most matte lip products, it's fine if I apply lip balm first, but this one emphasizes dead skin cells way too much. Even though the color is pretty and I want to wear it, it looks too messy to apply. For dry lips without much care, even Peripera would be better... The scent is also... well, I usually don't have strong opinions on fragrances, but I can't get used to this one. There are many cheaper options out there, so if you have dry lips, absolutely avoid this! It's just too challenging to use. Such a disappointment!

It's perfect for creating gradients too. Whenever I wear it, people ask what I'm using so they can get it themselves!
ConsIt can be a bit drying, which makes dead skin cells more noticeable. You'll need to pair it with a lip balm.

It has a low-saturation grayish tone that looks natural even on a makeup-free face. (I usually find makeup bothersome and just use lipstick for a pop of color, but this product is so natural it almost looks like I'm not wearing anything... which ends up making me want to add some eye makeup.) True to its 'velvet' name, it glides on smoothly. The color payoff is decent, and it doesn't feel sticky at all. It's more semi-matte than glowy.
ConsIt's a champion at highlighting dead skin cells! Despite being 'velvet', it becomes dry over time. The staying power is weak. Those who dislike lip stains might appreciate this, but it's disappointing that it doesn't last on the lower lip after drinking coffee or eating. (Can you see in the photo how it easily wipes off with a tissue, even when it's a bit dry after some time?) The scent and taste are awful. The fragrance smells like a mix of chemicals and every strong scent imaginable. I wish they had left out the fragrance altogether... And the taste that sometimes comes through when applying is even worse.
TipBuy this when you're curious to try a lip color that matches your skin tone! And when it's on sale!!!!

The color payoff is great for the price. A little goes a long way. The staying power is good, and the texture feels nice. The applicator shape makes it easy to apply. The scent isn't bad either. It has a pleasantly matte and velvety finish!
ConsWhen applied to the lips, the color is brighter than expected. It has a slightly fluorescent undertone. If you're expecting a truly muted dusty rose shade, you might be disappointed. As it has good staying power, it tends to stain quite a bit. It can be a bit drying, so you need to apply it based on your lip condition.
TipMake sure to exfoliate your lips and apply lip balm before using this product.
