Among matte foundations, this one sets quickly and adheres well to the skin, rather than being overly powdery. Depending on the person, it might feel slightly heavy, but others may appreciate its long-lasting power. I primarily use it during summer. Applying it with a flat brush instead of a puff allows for a more hydrated finish. Compared to newer matte foundations released post-pandemic, it has a thicker consistency, requiring a bit more control. I prefer foundations that closely match my skin tone. I usually opt for Neutral 23, but when I want a brighter look, I go for Pink Beige 23 or slightly darker shades like 21 or 22. This product is a true 23 shade, with a beautiful ivory hue that balances color and saturation well. While it has a yellow base, giving it a peachy undertone, it's not overly yellow and looks quite pretty. The foundation sets very quickly, so you need to apply it rapidly. When using a puff, it can look too matte and may appear more cakey than when applied with a brush. Overall, this foundation requires some practice to master. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 31, 2019
I originally planned to buy Double Wear instead of Nude Water, but people around me said it would be too drying for my skin. However, the color match was so perfect that I couldn't give up on it, which led me to purchase this product. I realized they're completely different products, and the shades do vary. Since my face tends to be on the red side, the original version with its yellowish undertone actually suited me better color-wise. But in terms of hydration and adherence, this seems great for everyday light application. I used to use Make Up For Ever UHD Foundation, and while the color is almost identical, this product is slightly more fluid but seems to have better coverage. Since I've only applied it for the first time today, I'll need to see how long it lasts. The shade does appear a bit light though... I usually wear shade 23. 8/4 Update - Writing this review after drinking and clubbing... I only touched up lightly with Jung Saem Mool during the night. Applied at 5 PM, then drank heavily and danced at the club until 10 AM the next morning. The foundation held up well without much breakdown, and I'm not even sure if it came off. It's amazing! Since I've only applied it for the first time on my way to work today, I'm not sure yet. However, I don't feel any dryness or tightness on my face at all. Even though I have sensitive skin, there are no signs of potential blemishes appearing. They say it's good to apply with a brush, but I'm known among my friends for being clumsy. So I just use those multi-pack puffs from Daiso without dampening them and pat it on. It still applies thinly and naturally. I feel like dampening the puff would rob my face of moisture, so keeping it dry works best for me. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 24, 2019
The coverage is really excellent! I'm currently using my second bottle. For my combination dehydrated skin, it's far too matte. And for someone who usually wears shades 21-22, it's slightly dark. That's why I always mix it with other foundations! And the lid! It happened with the first one, and now with the second one too! It breaks so easily. I'm really disappointed, so I'm deducting one star. When it's too matte, I find it works well to mix it with other foundations or moisturizers. - 18*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 12, 2018
As I've gotten older, my face seems to be losing its oiliness. My trusty Double Wear kept looking dry, so I decided to switch things up. Let me cut to the chase - this foundation is less drying than Double Wear and applies beautifully even with a quick application. I'm planning to stick with this from now on. With Double Wear, I used to constantly check and touch up throughout the day, but with Double Wear Nude, I hardly need to worry. I also love that it doesn't require an elaborate skincare routine underneath. The main reason I used Double Wear before was that other products transferred easily and had poor longevity. This one, while more hydrating than Double Wear, surprisingly has great staying power and doesn't get greasy (though I always set it with powder). Even the color is fantastic - I'm using Sand, and it looks natural and beautiful! Double Wear sometimes felt a bit heavy due to its high coverage, but this one applies more naturally. Pro tip: even if the shade names are the same, the colors differ between Double Wear and Double Wear Nude, so make sure to test before buying! I've always returned to Double Wear after trying other foundations, but I'm definitely repurchasing this one when I run out. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot! I received the full-size pump, but the cap shattered during use... This isn't just for this product - all my Estée Lauder foundation pump caps have broken. I wish they'd make them more durable! Also, while it's not an issue for me, if you're expecting Double Wear-level coverage, you might be disappointed. I don't apply my base makeup thickly and use concealer for blemishes, so I'm very satisfied with how it evens out my complexion, its longevity, and how it doesn't separate on my skin. I have about a shade 22 complexion. I used to use Double Wear mainly in the shade Bone, which gave me a nice, bright look. Warm Vanilla was a bit dark for me. For this foundation, I got matched to Sand at the department store, and it's perfect - not too light or dark, just natural on my skin tone. It's said to be lighter than the original Double Wear, so don't just go by your old shade - definitely test it first! Also, I find it works really well with a flat foundation brush. I use a Mefactory flat brush, apply the foundation, then lightly pat with a sponge to smooth out any brush marks. It applies beautifully this way - give it a try! - Hwahae UserOily SkinRecommendedOct 12, 2018
It's so hydrating! I was looking for a lightweight formula, and this is exactly that type. I have visible pores, so unfortunately it still settles into them... - rl**********Normal SkinMay 27, 2018
First off, the color was a perfect match for my complexion. Compared to the regular Double Wear Sand, it's slightly darker with a yellow base, which really suits me well. As someone with dry skin, I find that even when it breaks down a bit in the summer heat, it still gives me a beautiful, natural-looking skin finish! The main drawback is that the ingredients list leaves something to be desired. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 22, 2018
It gives a smooth, non-cakey feel that creates the perfect base for makeup application. The staying power could be better. While it feels moisturizing when applied, it tends to become slightly matte over time. - sj*****Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 27, 2018
First off, I highly recommend this for those with dry skin! I usually wear shades 21-23, and this product seems to be a perfect match for shade 23. I bought this because I wanted to try a product with a natural color. I purchased it just before spring, but I think it's really a product that would be great for fall and winter when you need a bit more moisture. Another big plus is that it applies in a super thin layer and has a beautiful, graceful wear-off! For those with combination skin like me, it might be a bit much for spring and summer. You might need to set it with powder after application. And above all, the coverage seems to be slightly lacking, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMar 21, 2018
First off, I absolutely love the lightweight base! The staying power and graceful wear are top-notch, as expected from Estée Lauder. It's quite fluid, so the coverage isn't as intense as the original Double Wear, but it's still impressive for such a thin formula. I used to prefer heavier coverage, but after trying this, I'm sold on its light feel and natural skin finish. It's not overwhelming at all, which makes me want to keep using it. I might alternate between this and the original Double Wear depending on the occasion. The initial price might seem steep, but considering the generous amount and quality, it's actually great value in the long run. I've applied it on my left hand in the photo. I wanted to include a face shot too, but my camera decided to act up, unfortunately! Compared to the original Estée Lauder foundation, the coverage is noticeably lighter (though it's still decent compared to other fluid formulas). Due to its runny consistency, a pump is absolutely necessary. Other than that, I can't think of any other downsides! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 3, 2018
The coverage and lasting power for complexion are top-notch with this one! It applies more moisturizing than Estée Lauder Double Wear, so I've been using it well this winter. I don't have any particular complaints so far, but I suppose I'll have to switch back to Double Wear foundation for summer, right?
