During this time, matte lipsticks look so pretty. However, my lips have already become too dry, and lip balm alone is not enough to make them smooth again. Luckily, I had the chance to try the Hwahae Trial Reviewer lip scrub through an event! (I always thought events were meant to be participated in, but getting chosen is such an honor!🎉) This product contains natural sugar crystals and tropical fruit oils, which are said to gently exfoliate and smooth my lips. As expected, the lip scrub effectively removed the flaky skin on my lips after use. And as you can see in the photo below, applying my regular lip balm afterwards made the results even better. (I didn't have the lip balm mentioned, so I just used my own at home, and the next day I happily applied lipstick.) With my lips nicely smoothed out, the lipstick went on so much better now.🤹♀️
ConsAfter scrubbing, my lips and the surrounding area felt quite tingly and irritated. If you enjoy that kind of tingling sensation, this might be for you. When I first used it, the scrubbing felt almost as intense as brushing my teeth with toothpaste. It was extremely tingly, and after scrubbing, there was a sticky residue left on my lips that required multiple rinses to remove. It did feel moisturizing, but the tingling was too much for me, so I ended up washing my whole mouth with a cleansing foam. Even after washing, the tingling sensation lingered around my lips.😐 The second time I used it, the tingling was still unavoidable, but rinsing with water and then applying my lip balm seemed to work better the next day.

As winter approached, my lips were always dry and flaky, but after using it, my lips became smooth, moisturized, and free of flakiness. The ingredients are also good.
ConsThe scrub particles are quite large, so they tend to roll around when I rub them. While using it, I'm doubtful that this is actually exfoliating, but once the scrubbing is done, my lips are left smooth. Since this is a lip scrub used in small amounts, it would be better if the particles were smaller in a reformulation.
TipWhen your lips are flaky, apply a small amount of the scrub while bathing and gently massage it in. Be sure to apply plenty of lip balm after scrubbing.
