I've tried countless eyeshadows, but few match the reliability of Laura Mercier's 'Cashmere' when it comes to creating a foolproof contour shade. Often, shadows can look dull in the pan or disappoint when applied, but not this one. Its subtle beige-gray brown tone, free from red or yellow undertones, applies smoothly and cleanly, adding natural depth to the eyelids. Though matte, it's not stiff, and applies evenly whether you use a brush or your fingers. It's particularly suited for those with thin double eyelids or who prefer a subtle contour, creating a defined look without puffiness. I highly recommend it for daily use when you want a polished appearance without looking overdone. Key benefits: - Subtle contour shade without redness (suitable for warm and cool tones) - Fine matte texture with excellent adherence and minimal excess - Easy to apply and blend with fingers or brush - Creates a naturally alluring look - Versatile for daily use alone or as a base May not show up well as a base on very dark skin tones The color might be too natural for dramatic makeup looks Not suitable for wet application (lacks shimmer) For effortless application, spread with fingers then blend edges with a brush Layer 2-3 times for a deeper contour Pair with a highlighter shade for added dimension Combines well with 'Ginger' or 'Rose Gold' from the same line - im**************Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 15, 2025
First off, the color is absolutely gorgeous. As someone with a winter soft/light undertone, it's not overwhelming on me at all. It's versatile enough to use as both an eyeshadow and a blush, giving a clear, radiant finish. It's truly become my go-to daily item. Plus, the texture is incredibly fine and smooth. Perhaps due to the ultra-fine particles, I felt the color payoff was a bit on the weaker side. And then there's the price... well, you know... - tm**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 15, 2025
As someone with a summer cool skin tone, I decided to try this eyeshadow since it's famous for cool-toned looks. It's quite pricey for an eyeshadow, but I bought it because of its reputation! The purple-gray tones are stronger than I expected. While I usually prefer a subtle, 'no-makeup makeup' look, this shadow is quite noticeable. The price is disappointingly high! Also, be aware that it's darker than you might expect. Unfortunately, the shadowy purple isn't as delicate as I hoped, but rather a muted, darker tone that didn't complement my complexion well. - su**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 21, 2025
The color payoff and staying power are top-notch. The adherence to the skin is also excellent. It's absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend it without a doubt. The price isn't exactly cheap, and if it doesn't suit someone's skin, it might make them look a bit sickly. - li*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRecommendedFeb 16, 2025
I've been using this product for a year now, and it applies like a watercolor without any excess powder. It's a bit tricky to open, but otherwise it's great. No blemishes to worry about! - jd******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 23, 2025
The powder particles are so fine and it looks absolutely gorgeous on cool skin tones! It lasts for ages too. I don't have any complaints, but it would be nice if they offered a variety of smaller palettes as well. - mu************Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJan 14, 2025
I bought this because Fresco looked too yellow on me. The color payoff is absolutely gorgeous! The price point might be a bit steep for some. - ho***Dry SkinSensitive SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedDec 27, 2024
This color is perfect for summer muted-cool tones looking for a slightly toned-down makeup look. The combination of pink, purple, and brick is lovely, and the fine powder particles apply beautifully to the skin. While the color is gorgeous, if it doesn't match your complexion, it can make you look like you have bruises. - pu*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedNov 12, 2024
Great for contouring, even for those with fair skin. It applies smoothly and absorbs well. The color is really appealing. It's quite... expensive. Other than that... well, it's a matter of personal preference, so I can't really think of any specific drawbacks. - tj*********Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 7, 2024
The perfect shade for cool-toned skin. No need to blend with other colors - one swipe is enough. There's a lot of excess powder fallout. Wish it came with a mirror! The price is on the high side.
