I usually use tretinoin, which sometimes causes flaking, but when I apply this product, my makeup goes on smoothly the next day and visible flakes disappear. I use about two drops, and despite having super sensitive skin, it doesn't seem to cause irritation. It's also fragrance-free, and I'm satisfied with the ingredients at this level.
ConsThe problem is that the lid, as always with this brand, doesn't close properly. I can't help but think they do this on purpose... For some unknown reason, when I use this, I break out the next day. My skin kept getting worse, and I'm certain this is the culprit. It's a potent formula, so I only use a small amount 2-3 times a week, but with a 1-year shelf life, I wonder how I'll ever finish it...
TipMix 2-3 drops with your moisturizer when applying.

While it contains ingredients that help with dead skin cells, I bought it for my pore issues. The formula has a water-like consistency that absorbs well, and it's the gentlest among AHA products, making it suitable even for super sensitive skin without causing irritation. I didn't notice much difference when I first started using it, but by the second bottle, my skin texture had noticeably improved.
ConsI've tried other products from The Ordinary, but I've always found that the dropper's opening gets misaligned, making it difficult to close properly. Also, for some reason, I occasionally feel a tingling sensation when I apply it to my skin.
TipSince this ingredient doesn't mix well with UV rays, apply it at night as part of your evening skincare routine, and use it only once a day. After applying AHA products, it's best to wait a moment before layering on other products.

First off, I rarely do exfoliation, maybe once a month if that. I usually use BHA, but I wanted to try AHA too, so I bought this to meet the free shipping threshold on The Ordinary. I started with 5% instead of 10% to avoid potential irritation. If I remember correctly, they were the same price. What I liked was the affordable price and simple ingredient list, focusing on functionality. I applied it about 3 times with 4-day intervals, but I didn't end up using it often... Update (02/18/19): My skin has been feeling dry lately, so I dug this out and applied it generously. The next morning, my skin felt plump and hydrated! No blemishes either... I previously thought it had zero effect, as mentioned in the cons, but after trying it again after a few months, it's actually quite nice... So I'm adding one star. I'm not sure why my skin's reaction has changed so much! Anyway, I plan to apply it generously every 2-3 days from now on. The watery texture means it'll probably run out quickly!
Cons...The reason is that right after applying this, blemishes would immediately pop up on my cheeks and chin. It's like clockwork - as soon as I apply it, I'd find pimples that weren't there when I washed my face... I'm usually cautious when trying new products, applying a small amount or patch testing first. Even if it's fine on my neck or inner arm, it can be a different story on my face. Plus, I wanted to control the amount, but the watery consistency made it difficult to apply just a little bit. Most importantly, the effects were very minimal... Exfoliating products usually leave your skin feeling smooth or glowing, but I didn't notice any changes right after use or the next morning. Maybe the 10% version would show results? I still keep it around in case I need lactic acid, but I've put it back in its box and stored it out of sight... I'm considering using it on my arms and legs instead.
