I'm happy to report that I've been using it without any major issues. I've switched my entire skincare routine to The Ordinary products, except for my moisturizer. While it's hard to say if it's solely this product or the synergy of the whole line, I've noticed a significant improvement in my complexion after cleansing. My skin looks noticeably brighter, and areas with uneven pigmentation have faded considerably. I'm absolutely thrilled with the results!
ConsThe scent isn't particularly pleasant. Since it's a liquid formula applied directly to the face rather than with a cotton pad, you need to be careful. Once, I accidentally let a drop fall on my forehead from the dropper, and it nearly ran into my eye - that could have been a disaster! The liquid texture combined with the dropper applicator makes it a bit tricky to apply directly to the face.
TipMy skincare routine goes like this: Right after cleansing, I use either the Lactic Acid 5% or Glycolic Acid 7% (which isn't listed on Hwahae, so there are no reviews for it. Personally, I found the Glycolic Acid more effective for my skin). I apply this with a cotton pad, and despite thorough cleansing, it always picks up some yellowish residue - gross but satisfying! Depending on my skin's condition, I do this chemical exfoliation every other day. Then I follow with Mamonde Rose Water Toner, Ducray Keracnyl Control Cream, The Ordinary Niacinamide 10%, and finally a mix of Dr.G Red Blemish Clear Cream with three drops of The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2%. Since adopting this routine, I've noticed my skin becoming noticeably more radiant!

First off, I rarely do exfoliation, maybe once a month if that. I usually use BHA, but I wanted to try AHA too, so I bought this to meet the free shipping threshold on The Ordinary. I started with 5% instead of 10% to avoid potential irritation. If I remember correctly, they were the same price. What I liked was the affordable price and simple ingredient list, focusing on functionality. I applied it about 3 times with 4-day intervals, but I didn't end up using it often... Update (02/18/19): My skin has been feeling dry lately, so I dug this out and applied it generously. The next morning, my skin felt plump and hydrated! No blemishes either... I previously thought it had zero effect, as mentioned in the cons, but after trying it again after a few months, it's actually quite nice... So I'm adding one star. I'm not sure why my skin's reaction has changed so much! Anyway, I plan to apply it generously every 2-3 days from now on. The watery texture means it'll probably run out quickly!
Cons...The reason is that right after applying this, blemishes would immediately pop up on my cheeks and chin. It's like clockwork - as soon as I apply it, I'd find pimples that weren't there when I washed my face... I'm usually cautious when trying new products, applying a small amount or patch testing first. Even if it's fine on my neck or inner arm, it can be a different story on my face. Plus, I wanted to control the amount, but the watery consistency made it difficult to apply just a little bit. Most importantly, the effects were very minimal... Exfoliating products usually leave your skin feeling smooth or glowing, but I didn't notice any changes right after use or the next morning. Maybe the 10% version would show results? I still keep it around in case I need lactic acid, but I've put it back in its box and stored it out of sight... I'm considering using it on my arms and legs instead.
