I've been using this for over six months now, and even with regular use, it seems like I've barely made a dent in the product. It doesn't feel too rich, so I've been applying it around my face and on areas with visible pores. The product adheres well to the skin, though it offers minimal coverage. The lack of coverage is a bit disappointing, making it less than ideal to use on its own. - kh*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 2, 2025
Hourglass is known for their excellent primers, and they have quite a variety. I've been using the Veil Mineral Primer, and it's definitely a repurchase! While I don't use it daily, I bought the travel size and it's perfect. Just a tiny amount helps my makeup last longer and smooths out the texture of my cheeks (which have huge pores), as well as the fine lines around my forehead, mouth, and eyes. Unlike silicone primers that clog my pores and cause blemishes, this one is incredibly lightweight. It feels like you're applying a thin layer of mineral powder! It adheres to the skin with a blurring, silky effect, maintaining a velvety, luxurious finish that's perfectly matte. I avoid applying it on my nose where oil tends to make makeup clump, but I focus on my forehead, cheeks, around the mouth, and under-eye area. It even subtly brightens the complexion by about half a shade! This is an absolute must-have for weddings! While it's great overall, I noticed some cracking and deep dryness when I was in a very dry environment for a long time. Avoid powder at all costs in dry places! Also, if your skincare is too heavy or oily, it can cause pilling and won't give that silky finish. For best results, use a moisturizing base that leaves the skin surface feeling fresh. To really see this primer's magic, apply small amounts and gently press it into your pores using a spatula for a smooth finish. The particles are so fine that if you apply it carelessly or unevenly, it might not penetrate the pores and could actually make them more noticeable. Make sure to use a spatula or your fingers to evenly spread and press it into the skin for the best results! - dk*******Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 14, 2025
I've always struggled with textured pores, so I've tried every primer under the sun that claims to be good. But this one? It's truly the cream of the crop. It completely shattered my skepticism about how much a primer could actually improve my skin. When I apply this before my cushion foundation, the difference in my skin's appearance is remarkable. Surprisingly, it's not thick at all, yet it manages to cover textured pores so naturally and beautifully in a thin layer. And let's talk about its staying power - it's incredible! No lifting, no pilling. I wholeheartedly recommend this product! There are no downsides, honestly. I personally wish it were a bit more affordable, but when I consider its effectiveness, I can't really complain... A little goes a long way! Apply it with your fingers, gently filling in areas. Whatever you do, don't apply it too thick! The key is using just a small amount. - ky*********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 22, 2025
The blurring effect is truly outstanding. The moment you apply it, your skin feels as soft and smooth as if you've dusted on powder. It's really fantastic! It doesn't pair well with dewy foundations or cushions. I'd recommend using it with matte foundations instead. - j_****Oily SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 30, 2023
As someone with super oily skin in summer, I've always avoided primers due to breakouts and pilling. But with this scorching heat and my makeup melting off, revealing enlarged pores, I decided to give this a try. Unlike thick, sticky primers, this has a more fluid texture. Surprisingly, it dramatically improves makeup longevity! Even with my large pores and blemish scars, it helps makeup adhere better and smooths out my skin texture, making my base look much more beautiful. A tiny amount goes a long way. Be careful not to use too much, or it'll mix with excess oil and create unsightly little balls in your pores. I find that even half a pump is too much - I use about a third of a pump for both cheeks and nose. Instead of patting, I gently spread it to avoid clumping. Start with what seems like too little and find your perfect amount. I recommend experimenting to find what works for you! On a trip with lots of outdoor activities, I was sweating profusely, but my face stayed remarkably fresh. Even when I did sweat, my makeup wore off gracefully. I don't wear makeup daily, but I used it for three consecutive days without any blemishes or irritation. Just make sure to cleanse thoroughly, getting deep into your pores! For occasional users like me who use tiny amounts, I'd recommend the travel size. The full size is pricey and might expire before you use it all. The price is way too high! I only buy it when I can get it duty-free. For summer makeup, it's easy to get overly oily. Even with high-end products, the key is to apply them thinly and sparingly for a beautiful finish. For this reason, I'd recommend using a brush over a spatula or puff. - js******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 21, 2023
This product gives my skin an incredibly smooth and flawless appearance. It's definitely worth the higher price tag! For those with oily skin, it works well for a few hours, but after that, your pores become visible again. It's a bit disappointing. I've found that applying this product over BB cream and then finishing with concealer gives an even smoother complexion. This layering technique really seems to enhance the overall skin appearance. - zz*******Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedApr 26, 2023
Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin with oily T-zone, cystic acne, acne scars and enlarged pores concentrated on forehead and cheeks, slight redness on cheeks, and generally prone to heat. The product has a white, lightweight texture that applies smoothly. I didn't experience any pilling, and while it didn't dramatically cover pores, it provided satisfactory coverage. Comparing before and after application, the side with the product noticeably controls oil. The difference becomes more apparent over time. While I haven't found any drawbacks yet, the price is a bit steep. The 'before' photo was taken after applying sunscreen. I impulse-bought this product after being influenced by a YouTube video, but I'm satisfied with my purchase. - ek*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 1, 2023
Improved makeup staying power... If you want to reduce the breakdown of makeup, especially in the nasolabial fold area, use this! My skin has been dry lately, so I don't use it all over my face. I only apply it to my nose and nasolabial folds to enhance longevity. I bought the small size and a tiny amount goes a long way - such a great value! It's really fantastic. Any downsides? Not really. Even though the small size is pricey, you only need to use a tiny bit, so it should last a while. It might be too rich to use all over the face unless you have very oily skin. Not suitable for combination dehydrated skin... After applying, gently pat it in with a sponge for better absorption. - fl*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 23, 2022
As someone with combination dehydrated skin (with acne scars and various sized pores), I think this will be perfect for fall and winter. Now that I'm in my 30s, I've noticed more pores in my T-zone and fine lines appearing... I bought this after much deliberation, and I'm extremely satisfied! First off, the texture is fluid and spreads easily - a small amount is enough to cover half your face. I was worried it might feel too thin, but when applied, it adheres seamlessly without feeling like there's an air layer. Surprisingly, it even helps with deep dryness while providing excellent adherence! My skin has been quite dry lately, so I was torn between this and a hydrating primer. I'm glad I chose this one for various reasons. It has a slight richness, but doesn't feel oily on the skin at all - instead, it leaves a silky, matte finish. It's not at all heavy in this weather and easy to apply without any special technique. It pairs perfectly with Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. To be honest, at first, I couldn't tell if it was doing anything special. But after about two hours post-makeup application... wow, my skin looks incredibly beautiful! It appears so smooth. While it doesn't completely fill in acne scars or large pores, it makes the rest of my skin look flawless. It's amazing... As I've gotten older, I've realized why primers are necessary. Now, rather than aiming for a youthful, plump look, I prefer a natural, soft skin appearance that suits my age. This primer delivers exactly that. The price is quite high, unfortunately. But since you only need to use a small amount, it lasts a long time! It doesn't conceal large pores or deep indentations. Rather than targeting specific issues, it gives an overall effect of smoothing out skin texture, fine pores, and wrinkles - like creating a perfect canvas. The true value of this product becomes apparent over time. I'll definitely grab it again when it's on sale! I used to apply Clio primer all over my T-zone and Benefit primer on large pores. Now, I just use this one product and leave the large pores as they are. My skin looks so good overall that I don't feel the need to conceal everything. Proper amount control is crucial. Since it has a fluid texture, shake well to mix thoroughly and dispense directly onto your face for easier application. A small amount for each side of the face is sufficient. For long outdoor activities, I layer skincare - sunscreen - this mineral primer - foundation. The true magic of this primer becomes evident as time passes after makeup application. When you don't use it, you'll notice decreased longevity and less pore coverage. In short, for achieving beautifully flawless skin, there's no primer quite like this one! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 19, 2022
The ultimate primer out there! It's a champion at covering pores and keeping makeup in place. Even after wearing makeup for over 12 hours, there's absolutely no breakdown - it keeps your look as fresh as if you've just applied it. It can be a bit drying, so if you apply a dry powder on top, you might experience some slight pilling.
