Recommended as a cleanser for oily skin types. It contains charcoal powder and salt granules, which are great for removing excess sebum. A second cleanse is essential, leaving your skin feeling squeaky clean. Although the salt granules dissolve well in your hands, they can still be slightly irritating to the skin. You need to be very gentle and use light pressure when massaging it in. A drawback is that the charcoal tends to leave residue on the skin, so a second cleanse is absolutely necessary. Using it daily can be too harsh, so I use it about 3 times a week. To minimize irritation and charcoal residue, make sure to mix it well with water in your hands before applying. - je*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedFeb 13, 2023
This cleanser has a thick texture that you mix with water before use. I didn't experience any blemishes while using it, and it seems to effectively control oil. The fine charcoal particles appear to help with dead skin cell removal, making my skin feel smooth. It also seems beneficial for blackheads and whiteheads. Every time I use it, charcoal powder gets all over the sink and my hands. It contains oil, which makes my face look a bit dull after use, so it's difficult to use on its own. A second cleanse is necessary, which is inconvenient. The charcoal particles are quite noticeable, making it too harsh for daily use. It feels more like a scrub product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 1, 2023
- Skin feels soft and smooth after use - Pleasant fragrance - Effectively refines pores and blackheads - More irritating compared to other Lush cleansers - Dark charcoal particles tend to stick to the face, requiring an additional exfoliating toner It's great to use during your morning or evening shower as part of your cleansing routine. After using it on your face, you can rub the remaining product on your elbows for excellent dead skin cell removal and hydration. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedNov 16, 2022
Thanks to the charcoal powder, it cleanses properly, and with the oil content, it's wonderfully moisturizing and smells amazing! The black charcoal powder leaves so much residue. Even though I try to wash thoroughly, there's too much left behind, making it difficult to use on its own. I asked a staff member how to use it without leaving residue, and they suggested mixing it with Angels on Bare Skin in a 2:1 ratio. It works much better that way and doesn't leave any residue! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJun 2, 2022
My skin definitely feels softer. It's effective at removing dead skin cells. There's a slight stinging sensation when applying. The black residue on the face doesn't wipe off easily. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMay 24, 2022
It gently exfoliates and removes dead skin cells effectively. After washing, my skin feels well-moisturized and incredibly soft. The oily, dark residue is hard to remove. It makes a mess of the sink! - fm********Dry SkinMar 21, 2022
It makes my skin feel soft and smooth. I felt reassured knowing it contains natural ingredients. It's extremely rough and irritating. It severely clogs my pores. The next day, my skin turned red and broke out. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedNov 6, 2021
The scent is absolutely delightful. It contains sugar, which provides a gentle exfoliation of dead skin cells. After washing, your face feels refreshed and clean. Be careful when wearing white clothes as it's hard to wash off if it gets on them. I bought it for sebum on my nose, but I'm not sure how effective it is for that specific issue. Make sure to wear a headband, as it can drip black water if it gets in your hair. - pk****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMay 21, 2021
My face suddenly broke out with inflammation, itching, and lots of tiny bumps, but after using Angel's Bear? product in the morning and this product in the evening alternately, everything cleared up in just 1-2 weeks! My skin texture feels more refined now! It's expensive. I have dry and sensitive skin, and while I didn't notice anything when mixing it in my hands, I felt it was quite irritating when applied to my face. Also, after each use, the sink gets really dark, so I have to wipe it down with the same cotton pad I used on my face. Moreover, it takes about twice as long to cleanse my face thoroughly compared to other cleansing products. - ki*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJan 28, 2021
I've been using this as my evening cleanser. After trying Angels on Bare Skin, I wanted to use a similar paste-like cleanser, so I bought this product which seemed similar to Coal Face. The scent is about 5 times stronger than Coal Face - I actually gasped and coughed when I first smelled it. It's really powerful! I'm amazed they went to the trouble of adding such a strong fragrance. Since I use it in the shower, it doesn't clog my pores or make a mess, but I notice my shower puff turns black when I wash my body after cleansing my face. It feels like it's made from ground charcoal, which makes it great for exfoliation, but it might be too harsh for those with super sensitive skin. On days when I only use cleansing foam, I often find dead skin cells and blemishes around my nose area. Mixing in Dark Angels helps remove these effectively without being too irritating. It tends to turn the sink black, so I probably won't repurchase it.
