While the Glow Tension is quite bright for a #23 shade, it's not as stark white and floaty as the Too Cool, but rather a touch brighter, making my face look a bit more radiant. Those who find #23 too dark and other shades too light might want to give this a try. It doesn't apply heavily or thickly, but rather lightly, which is nice for a more natural look. The puff is also super soft and easy to control the amount. I tend to get quite oily in my T-zone in the afternoon, but the Glow seems to keep that a bit more at bay, and when it does break down, it does so naturally without any darkening.
ConsThe ingredients are a bit disappointing though. And since it applies so lightly, the coverage does seem to lack a bit. I've also noticed some new pesky blemishes popping up since using this cushion, not sure if it's the cushion's fault or something else, but it just doesn't seem to agree with my skin. There's also a bit of cakiness around the nose area. My face doesn't feel overly weighted down or anything, but the brightening effect is a bit of a double-edged sword - as some have mentioned, the fingerprint marks show up quite noticeably on this cushion's sleek design.

The coverage was quite good, to the point that I was told my skin looked good.
ConsThe dryness is just too, too, too severe... Other cushions didn't have this issue, but when I apply the Glow Tension and go to work, I have to make sure to carry a mist with me... I have to spray it every 30 minutes, it's so severely drying and dehydrating that in less than two hours, the skin around my nose gets cakey and accentuates flakiness... And it applies thicker than expected, making my skin feel stuffy. I heard it was moisturizing and long-lasting, but that's completely untrue.. I normally have a combination skin type, but in the fall it becomes dry+combination, so I prioritize moisturizing over coverage in the fall, and this is not even a 1 out of 10 for me. I don't think I'll repurchase this...

I felt like I needed a more hydrating base, so I tried this. After switching from Double Wear, I definitely noticed a difference in how hydrated my skin felt. Even in dry indoor environments, it didn't lose its glow and provided good moisture. The shade is also lovely. Compared to Warm Vanilla, it doesn't have a yellow undertone. It's not too dark or too light, and blends naturally with my skin. And going from a liquid foundation to a cushion compact has really improved my quality of life - I can now sleep in 5 more minutes in the morning!
ConsI think this might be a bit too much for oily skin in the summer. But it should work well for you in the fall and winter. In the afternoon, I noticed a bit of creasing around my nose and in my fine lines. Most hydrating bases tend to crease a little on me. I also felt the coverage wasn't quite as high as some other options. It's more of a medium coverage.

There are sometimes cushions that are difficult to control the amount, but the Glow Tension is easy to control the amount as it is evenly distributed. 👏🏻 I don't know about others, but for my face with a lot of acne and combination skin, it helped control the redness well. 👏🏻 I felt that the coverage is quite good compared to other cushions. Since my skin has a lot of acne and uneven texture, this cushion is better than a weak foundation. However, if you apply it twice, it feels like it builds up thickly, so it's better to apply it once and pat it on well. 👏🏻 The application, if I may say so, feels slightly tacky when applied, so it applies with good adherence. However, I always build a solid base (skin, moisturizer, sunscreen, moisture booster, primer) before applying it.
Cons😕 Since I have a dull and yellowish #23 skin tone, the color has a slightly grayish tone, so it doesn't blend in naturally with my face color, which is disappointing. 😕 It gets a bit messy when it breaks down 😭 The last photo was taken only about 3 hours later, but it started to settle into the pores around my nose and cheeks... 😕 Although the cushion is called Glow Tension, it actually didn't give me a glowy feeling when applied. The application feels tacky, but the resulting skin expression doesn't have a pretty glow, perhaps because my skin is so uneven.
TipAs many of you already know, if you feel like you've applied too much cushion, you can use the plastic part (I'm not sure of the term 🥲) that flips when you open the cushion as a palette to dab off the excess and use it.

The skin expression is beautiful. The glow is not too intense, and there is no oily or shiny feeling, just a subtle radiance. I was worried after reading blogs that said the glow was incredibly intense, but it's actually somewhere between semi-matte and dewy. My skin looks smoothed out and luminous. It covers pores quite well. It seems to cover most large pores, so I can achieve that blurred skin look! The adhesion is good. For a dewy cushion, the adhesion is decent, and it applies thinly and clings well. Adjusting the amount is a must! Since the product picks up well on the puff without having to press down hard, it's actually easier to control. At first, it feels a bit tacky, but after a while, there's no transfer and it's not sticky at all. The coverage is average? I layered it thinly twice, and I still needed to use a concealer, but since I usually just use foundation to even out my skin tone, this level of coverage is satisfactory for me.
ConsThere is darkening. The sand-colored shade was a bit lighter than what I normally use, but as time passed, it got darker. It didn't become dull and ashy, but the tone just got a bit deeper. Actually, I kind of liked that the initially too-bright shade toned down a bit. There is some creasing. After some time, there is a bit of creasing around the under-eye and laugh lines. But it's not too severe, and I can just dab it with the puff to smooth it out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ah, I'm adding to my original review... After continued use, as time goes on, it starts to cling dryly, accentuating texture and creasing, and my skin just looks really bad. I don't think I'll keep using this. And someone said the wedge puff works well with it, but for dry-skinned people, I really don't recommend the wedge puff combo... It applies so dryly.
TipI'd highly recommend this to people who prefer a more matte look but are getting tired of it, and want something that's not overly sticky or oily, but still gives a nice glow. Apply it thinly and layer, and then use a brush to powder the cheeks, chin, and forehead, leaving the high points glowy. (This is for dry skin types only! Not recommended for oily skin.)
