I think it's the richest product I've ever used. I'm not sure about its cleansing effectiveness since I don't wear much makeup. But it's so rich that it's hard to imagine it not cleansing well.
ConsTo be honest, I'm not sure about its sebum removal capabilities. I use this oil as the final step in my shower routine every day, but I haven't noticed any effect on sebum removal.

Scent There's a slightly fresh and zesty fragrance. It's reminiscent of citrus. I usually have severe allergies, so I'm quite insensitive to scents. I can use products that others find too fragrant. That said, I could detect a subtle citrus scent from this product. The fragrance doesn't seem overpowering. 2. Texture I'm a cleansing oil enthusiast and have been using them exclusively for cleansing. After trying various products, I settled on S*mool Calendula Oil for about two years. The S*mool one has a thicker, more viscous feel with a noticeable stickiness. In comparison, the Second Design oil has a much lighter texture. It glides on smoothly when massaging. It feels like a hybrid between water and oil. 3. Cleansing effectiveness It seems to remove basic sunscreen and makeup well. Initially, I was skeptical about its cleansing power due to its light texture, but I was pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness. I tried removing Kiss Me eyeliner and 3CE tint without a separate eye and lip remover, and it worked well. 4. Emulsification It emulsifies excellently. I prioritize emulsification in oils, and this one does it well. Poorly emulsifying oils leave a residue of dissolved makeup on the skin, but this one turns milky quickly with just a bit of water. 5. After-feel Fresh! Many people avoid oils because they feel sticky and leave residue. This would be great for those people. After rinsing with water, it leaves a fresh feeling. 6. Ingredients The ingredients are so gentle, it's fantastic! I've been struggling with contact dermatitis for years (and a bit of seborrheic dermatitis too), and I've had super sensitive skin since childhood. My skin reacts badly to the slightest irritant, but this product works well for me!
ConsHowever, I mainly use cleansing oils for blackheads and whiteheads, and I didn't see much improvement in this area. It didn't increase or decrease blackheads and whiteheads - just average performance. Of course, with this level of cleansing power, it's probably above average overall.
Tip1. Pump at least 3 times 2. Massage for about 1 minute (don't overdo it or you'll damage your skin barrier. That's how I got contact dermatitis) 3. Focus on emulsification!!! Don't try to dissolve everything at once, do it gradually. Wet your face slightly, massage for 15 seconds, add a bit more water, another 15 seconds, and repeat.

It removes almost everything from mascara fixer to tints. For this review, I didn't use any additional double cleansing or other cleansers, and this cleansing oil alone managed to remove makeup effortlessly. However, when using glitter eyeshadow, some sparkles might remain, so it's best to use a point makeup remover in those cases. ✔ Ingredients and potential for blemishes The ingredients are excellent, allowing even someone with atopic skin like me to use it without issues. After washing, I could feel my skin becoming soft and smooth. In my case, I did notice a few small bumps appearing (I'm not certain if it's due to this product, but I'm mentioning it just in case as it could be a personal reaction). Perhaps because it's fragrance-free, I detected a scent reminiscent of lychee or rambutan when you accidentally bite into the seed. It had a subtle freshness mixed with a faint nutty aroma... ✔ Skin tightness after use I experienced slight tightness after using this product. However, I'm extremely satisfied because my skin felt incredibly soft and smooth after use!!!
Cons✔ Texture The product description claims it has a non-drip formula, but after using it, I wonder what exactly they mean by 'non-drip'. Being a liquid, it inevitably seems to flow. ✔ Sebum removal I'm not sure if it helps with sebum removal... I'm just satisfied with its good cleansing ability.

No residue Personally, 99% of why I dislike oil-based products is the residue. I used coconut oil as a cleanser before, but it required 2-3 rounds of washing. However, this one leaves a refreshing finish. Surprisingly, even when I only rinsed with water without using a cleansing foam or soap afterwards, it washed off completely. It doesn't feel like I've used an oil cleanser, but rather like I've properly cleansed my face. Not squeaky clean, but more like there's a hydrating barrier left behind. I never thought an oil-based product could feel like this. Honestly, this sensation alone makes me 90% sure I'll repurchase. 2. Cleansing effectiveness It even removes eyeliner (Tony Moly Back Gel) well. For lips, there might be a slight tint left from heavily pigmented lip products, but it's mostly just staining on dead skin cells, so it's not a major concern. I don't use mascara often, but when I did try it on waterproof mascara, it removed it effectively. While many people seem to use oil cleansers with cotton pads, I personally recommend using your hands. It seems to cleanse better when applied directly with hands. Since it rinses off well with water and doesn't leave residue on your hands, you won't have to worry about spreading oil everywhere. 3. Gentle formula Sometimes oil can get into my eyes when removing eye makeup, but this one doesn't cause any stinging or blurred vision. It's also very gentle. Sometimes when I use harsh products, my skin feels rough during cleansing, but I didn't experience that with this. I didn't break out or develop any blemishes while using it. Haha, one time I came home after drinking, having worn full makeup, and only had the presence of mind to use this and rinse with water before passing out... The next day, all my makeup was removed and I had no blemishes! After this experience, I'm definitely repurchasing. It's so convenient when you've had a few drinks!
ConsIf I had to pick something, maybe the fragrance? It has a floral scent which I personally liked, but it might be bothersome for some, so I'm mentioning it as a potential drawback. I didn't see much effect on whiteheads/blackheads. But this could be my issue, as I rarely notice a difference even when I use products and massage regularly. Also, like most oil-based products, it might run out quickly if you use it generously. Those who apply liberally might find themselves going through it faster than expected.

My skin is super sensitive, and even a slightly incompatible cleanser can cause blemishes, but this one doesn't cause any issues at all! Despite that, its cleansing effectiveness is excellent! Two pumps are enough to remove everything cleanly for me. What I love most is how well it removes eye makeup! Since I started using this, I've stopped using cleansing foams altogether.
ConsNot much, but... it doesn't seem to completely remove whiteheads.
TipI use it exactly as instructed.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThis is a review from The Hwahae Testers. My daily makeup routine includes: YSL All Hours Foundation, YSL Ink Cushion, Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil, Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eyeliner in Brown, Peach C Soft Mood Eyeshadow in Coral, Innisfree Skinny Microcara ZERO, Too Cool for School Art Class by Rodin Shading, and Merge The First Lipstick. I only wear makeup about 3-4 times a week, so I've used this product about 5 times since receiving it. I cleanse with the oil using lukewarm water, followed by Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser. I have combination to oily skin, and after using this product, I experienced almost no skin tightness, tingling, or greasy feeling. It felt very gentle throughout use. Some cleansing oils have an unpleasant scent, but this one doesn't, which I really appreciate! Previously, when removing mascara with other cleansing methods, I'd often lose eyelashes, which was upsetting. This product gently dissolves mascara clumps while cleansing, helping me preserve my lashes! It's been about 4 months since my LASIK surgery, and I didn't experience any eye irritation when removing eye makeup. There was slight blurriness, but it quickly cleared up after gently rinsing with lukewarm water! Before trying this product, I used cleansing water with cotton pads, which caused facial redness and skin irritation. Since using this product, both have significantly reduced! I even tried it with just sun cushion and eyebrow makeup, and it was great to be able to cleanse the sun cushion without irritation!
ConsOnce during use, some eyeshadow glitter remained stuck on my eyelids without being completely removed. It's a bit disappointing for managing blackheads or whiteheads. I paid extra attention to areas with whitehead concerns while massaging, but after cleansing, the whiteheads were still visible. Considering the high price, the cleansing effectiveness feels a bit weak.
TipUsing slightly warm water for cleansing helps it rinse off well and allows for a quicker wash. I'd recommend this to people concerned about skin irritation! I'd also recommend it to those who haven't felt refreshed after removing sunscreen!

After cleansing, my skin doesn't feel sticky at all, and it cleanses thoroughly.
ConsThe sebum-clearing effect I hoped for was minimal. Initially, I felt like the blackheads and whiteheads on my nose bridge decreased, but there wasn't a noticeable visible change. Oddly enough, while my nose area was fine, I developed many blemishes elsewhere, making me consider discontinuing use. In the end, cleansing oil is still just oil.

First off, the scent is absolutely delightful! It's like Earl Grey tea? Since cleansing oil is a product you need to massage in for a while, having such a pleasant fragrance really lifts your mood! 2. It removes even point makeup incredibly well. I usually use a separate lip and eye remover for my eye and lip makeup before using cleansing oil, but there was one time I forgot my remover and had to use this oil for my entire makeup routine! Surprisingly, it removed everything without leaving any residue, even mascara! 3. My skin feels wonderfully hydrated after rinsing!
Cons1. I'm not sure about its effectiveness in removing blackheads and whiteheads.

I promise to provide honest feedback without exaggeration. I've used this product daily for over a week before writing this review. First, let me describe my skin type. I have combination dehydrated skin that's extremely oily. I've never met anyone with oilier skin than mine. My pores are quite large, and I'm prone to whiteheads. For six years, I've always done a double cleanse with oil cleanser followed by foam cleanser. I've tried many different oil cleansers and I'm still exploring various brands. This product has a slightly thin consistency and is one of the gentlest oils I've used. I experienced almost no blemishes after use. There's minimal deep dryness after cleansing. After double cleansing with this oil and a foam cleanser, my skin feels slightly soft and smooth when I pat it dry. It effectively removes sunscreen, foundation, and makeup. It has good cleansing effectiveness. However, for heavily pigmented lip products, you might want to use a dedicated lip remover as well. It emulsifies exceptionally well. I was very satisfied with how cleanly it washes off the skin. In conclusion, this cleansing oil excels at the basics. It's a gentle oil suitable for all skin types. I would consider purchasing it with my own money in the future.
ConsSome people wonder if cleansing oils are effective for whiteheads or blackheads, but I don't think so. Cleansing oils are primarily designed to remove makeup thoroughly, not to reduce or eliminate sebum. However, when rolling the oil on your skin, you might occasionally feel like some sebum or impurities are being removed. This is just a tiny fraction of the countless pores on your face. If you're looking for significant results in this area, I recommend using products specifically designed for sebum and pore management, like pore strips or pore-tightening masks. There weren't any major disappointments while using this product.

Overall, I have dehydrated skin, but my T-zone is oily. My skin is extremely sensitive, prone to blemishes big and small when seasons change, during stressful times, or after drinking alcohol. I'm always struggling with small bumps and acne. Also, my skin tends to break out when I use oily cosmetics. For my makeup removal routine, I follow these steps: 1. Use lip and eye makeup remover for point makeup 2. Cleanse overall makeup with toner and cotton pads 3. Apply cleansing oil 4. Use cleansing foam (to ensure all oil is removed) I'll compare this product with the S*mol Ca*dula cleansing oil I've used before. 1. Fragrance The Ca*dula oil I was using always had an unpleasant scent, which was disappointing. However, this First cleansing oil has a subtle fruity or apple-like scent, making it a pleasure to use without any aversion. 2. Sebum removal When massaging, both products similarly extracted whiteheads, creating a grainy texture that was satisfying to feel.
Cons1. Sebum removal (Common to both products) While some whiteheads were extracted during massage, the removal wasn't perfect. I could still see some white sebum remaining in the pores. 2. Oil residue (Common to both products) For some reason, I felt like there was still some oil residue, so I used a cleansing foam afterward. 3. Blemishes (Common to both products) I'm not sure if it's due to my application technique or my sensitive skin that doesn't agree with oily products, but I noticed one or two blemishes appearing after use. However, my parents use these products without any issues. As a result, I've stopped using both products. I might use them occasionally, only on specific areas where I notice a lot of sebum buildup, particularly on my nose.
TipIf you typically avoid oily products altogether, you might want to reconsider trying this. However, for those who find that oil-based products work well for their skin and are already comfortable using cleansing oils, I highly recommend this product!
