Plus, it doesn't cause any blemishes!
ConsIt doesn't seem to cleanse deep into the pores completely. It feels like it's only removing surface impurities.

The ingredients seem gentle and good.
ConsWhile the ingredients are good, it's an oil-based product, so around my menstrual cycle, it seems to clog my pores. I'm not sure if that's the reason, but I'm really struggling with sudden blemishes... Especially around my mouth and chin area, it's terrible.
TipI guess I'll only use it occasionally to dissolve blackheads.

First, my skin type is oily, and I often get pustular acne and whiteheads on my cheeks and forehead. My pores on my nose were also enlarged due to improper blackhead extraction methods. I heard that using cleansing oil can help manage blackheads daily, but I also often heard that it's not good for oily skin. I couldn't decide whether to use cleansing oil or not! However, I was lucky enough to receive this Second Design cleansing oil with zero harmful ingredients as a Hwahae Tester, and I'm writing this review after about 10 days of use. 1. It doesn't make oily skin greasy or shiny! As someone with oily skin, I was worried that using cleansing oil would make my skin oilier, but it didn't at all! I feel like my pores are getting more refreshed every day. 2. It has great cleansing power! I usually wear brightening moisturizer, sunscreen that doubles as makeup base, concealer, eyeshadow, and blush daily. This product alone removes about 90-95% of it! I prefer a thorough cleanse, so I use this as my first cleanse followed by Dokdo Cleansing Foam as my second cleanse. 3. It helps reduce acne! I used to constantly get whiteheads, but after using this product, the frequency has significantly decreased. I hardly get any now! No pustular acne either! Acne was my biggest concern, but contrary to my worries, I'm satisfied with how much clearer my skin is becoming. 4. It's great for daily blackhead care! Before using this product for blackhead management, I would use blackhead removal masks, but after just 3 days, I could feel the bumpy texture of blackheads again, which was really stressful. Now with daily care, when I touch my skin, it feels smooth without any bumps! +Additional review as of March 5th: When I first started using this product, I had fewer whiteheads, but gradually I felt like they were increasing. Now, whiteheads have spread to my forehead, cheeks, and chin. I thought it might be an oil-moisture balance issue, so I tried to balance it out, but they didn't go away. For reference, I only wore makeup 5-6 days from January to March! I use this product every evening as my first cleanse, followed by Dokdo Cleansing Foam as my second cleanse. I'm wondering if the cleansing foam isn't completely removing the oil. I'll write another review after changing my cleansing foam! If it doesn't work even after changing, I'll consider this product not suitable for me and move on to a different cleansing oil. I was satisfied with its blackhead management and cleansing power, but the whiteheads... it's disappointing.
ConsThere weren't many downsides, but if I had to mention some: 1. It doesn't seem to have much effect on pore tightening. I didn't expect pore tightening effects, so it didn't matter much to me, but those who are looking for pore tightening effects might be a bit disappointed. 2. Perfect blackhead removal is not possible. I found that it's impossible to remove blackheads completely. However, I'm satisfied with it as a daily care product!
TipWhen using this product, make sure to apply the cleansing oil all over your dry face, then after about 30 seconds, go through the 'emulsification process' with water! This is crucial for maximum effectiveness.

And the emulsification process, is that what it's called? The way it turns white as soon as it touches water and cleanses felt smooth, not rough at all.
ConsI haven't used it for long, so I'm not entirely sure, but I felt like it didn't remove heavier makeup completely. Also, I had a slight feeling that it didn't quite reach deep into the pores for a thorough cleanse.

It doesn't sting even if it gets in your eyes, and it didn't cause any blemishes on my skin. The cleansing effectiveness seems really good too.
ConsI'm not sure if it's effective on blackheads - maybe it's because of my pores or perhaps I'm not using it correctly.

Overall, I have dehydrated skin, but my T-zone is oily. My skin is extremely sensitive, prone to blemishes big and small when seasons change, during stressful times, or after drinking alcohol. I'm always struggling with small bumps and acne. Also, my skin tends to break out when I use oily cosmetics. For my makeup removal routine, I follow these steps: 1. Use lip and eye makeup remover for point makeup 2. Cleanse overall makeup with toner and cotton pads 3. Apply cleansing oil 4. Use cleansing foam (to ensure all oil is removed) I'll compare this product with the S*mol Ca*dula cleansing oil I've used before. 1. Fragrance The Ca*dula oil I was using always had an unpleasant scent, which was disappointing. However, this First cleansing oil has a subtle fruity or apple-like scent, making it a pleasure to use without any aversion. 2. Sebum removal When massaging, both products similarly extracted whiteheads, creating a grainy texture that was satisfying to feel.
Cons1. Sebum removal (Common to both products) While some whiteheads were extracted during massage, the removal wasn't perfect. I could still see some white sebum remaining in the pores. 2. Oil residue (Common to both products) For some reason, I felt like there was still some oil residue, so I used a cleansing foam afterward. 3. Blemishes (Common to both products) I'm not sure if it's due to my application technique or my sensitive skin that doesn't agree with oily products, but I noticed one or two blemishes appearing after use. However, my parents use these products without any issues. As a result, I've stopped using both products. I might use them occasionally, only on specific areas where I notice a lot of sebum buildup, particularly on my nose.
TipIf you typically avoid oily products altogether, you might want to reconsider trying this. However, for those who find that oil-based products work well for their skin and are already comfortable using cleansing oils, I highly recommend this product!

So, worried about leftover makeup and oil, I used another brand's cleansing water with a cotton pad to check for residue, but it came out clean. I didn't experience any under-eye darkening from leftover makeup or any blemishes (I've attached a photo of the cotton pad). - Applies very smoothly It feels like the smoothest cleansing oil I've used so far, and right when you apply it, you get the sense that it's really oil-rich (without being thick) Because it's so oil-rich and smooth, it seems to cause much less irritation - Skin feels moisturized after cleansing In my case, it left my skin so moisturized that it had a slight glow right after washing It's not excessively oily, so I think it would work for all skin types - The texture is water-like and applies well, so two to two and a half pumps were enough - Cleansing effectiveness was quite good While it might not remove extremely pigmented products, it removed everything from foundation to mascara well - Looking at Hwahae, the ingredients are good, the price is reasonable, and you get a lot of product (I've attached a photo showing how much I used after 2 weeks - if used daily, it should last about 6 months)
Cons- For the first few uses, I felt a slight stinging in my eyes - I have particularly large pores around my nose, and it didn't completely remove whiteheads. They came out partially, which was disappointing (Please be cautious of the close-up photo) - It doesn't perfectly remove very heavily pigmented makeup (though it removes everything else well)

Of course, I avoid the 20 caution ingredients and potential allergens. Even if an ingredient is generally good, I never use products with components that don't suit my oily skin type or clog pores. My sensitive skin reacts immediately! The Second Design First Cleansing Oil passes the ingredient test. While good ingredients alone don't always guarantee effectiveness (considering shelf life, absorption, etc.), this product manages to deliver impressive results with its quality formulation. I received this as a Hwahae Tester and have been using it for almost two weeks now. Let me briefly highlight the key points: 1. It's gentler than other oil products. I was pleasantly surprised when I first used it. The slightly thin oil texture is fantastic! You can really feel the difference when rolling it on your skin. Some oils can be thick or sticky, but this one is incredibly smooth, making it enjoyable to massage while cleansing. 2. A little goes a long way (economical). The product description suggests 3-4 pumps, but I found 2 pumps to be sufficient. It seems to be a cost-effective product. 3. Gentle and non-irritating. Not only are the ingredients good, but it worked well for my sensitive skin. Zero irritation or redness! 4. Sleek design. I love how clean and minimalist the design is! The transparent bottle is also visually appealing.
ConsPersonally, I didn't find the cleansing performance during emulsification to be exceptionally strong (my standard includes both makeup and sebum removal). It doesn't seem to thoroughly cleanse every pore, especially in areas where sebum and makeup mix, like around the nose. Because of this, I opted for double cleansing (which seemed to work better).
TipThis oil rolls on exceptionally well. It feels great to massage around the cheekbones while cleansing. I recommend using lukewarm water during the emulsification process. When double cleansing, using a cleansing sponge might be beneficial.
