First off, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. The scent initially has a peppery note, but that quickly fades into a floral fragrance. This perfume is famous for its 'skin scent' quality, and I bought it after trying it out and finding it quite nice. To me, it smells like a slightly tart floral scent. (This makes me keep sniffing to figure out if it's floral or sweat-like - it's quite addictive!) Oh, and if you spray this after a shower and then sniff the spot, you can really smell the perfume. The lasting power is truly impressive! For me, this scent can smell both floral and like body odor after sweating. (Apparently, this can cause headaches for some people.) Since some people might perceive it as body odor like I do, I'd strongly recommend testing the dry-down if possible! I was interested in Diptyque fragrances and found out that they can discolor if stored for too long (what a bummer). Also, a downside of niche fragrances like Diptyque is their high price point. If you can get past that, you'll be able to enjoy this perfume. When applying perfume, don't spray it on your wrist and then rub! This can crush the fragrance particles and slightly alter the scent. For storage, keep it away from direct sunlight in a cool place! Carrying the full bottle around can decrease the fragrance's stability due to shaking, so it's better to decant some into a smaller bottle if you need to take it with you! - iy*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 29, 2023
Hmm, my ex-boyfriend bought this as a Christmas gift, and he wore it all the time. I loved the scent so much that I ended up buying it for myself. It seems fine when a man wears it, but for a woman, it feels a bit heavy. The initial scent is intense and might be overwhelming, but the lingering fragrance blends nicely with your natural scent. I really like the lasting notes. The initial scent was too spicy and intense for my liking. To make it work, try mixing it with another perfume or apply just one spray on your wrist, then dab it on your pulse points. If you wait about an hour before going out, the fragrance becomes less overpowering and more natural. - jr*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 4, 2023
The initial scent might be polarizing with its peppery notes. However, as you get used to it, even that aspect becomes charming. The lingering fragrance is absolutely delightful, subtly clinging to you like your own natural scent. The longevity is outstanding. The price is quite steep and the quantity is small, making it challenging to purchase. Nevertheless, once you fall for this scent, you'll forget about the cost and focus on securing as much of it as possible. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 5, 2023
The lingering scent is somewhat tolerable... I suppose that's its biggest advantage. As someone who really enjoys fragrances, I had high hopes after reading the glowing reviews and decided to make a purchase. However, personally, I find the scent overwhelmingly strong... While my nose is a bit sensitive, I've always been fine with Jo Malone perfumes. But this one makes me feel nauseous when I wear it...? I rarely use it. And it's way too expensive as well... - sg*****Oily SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 17, 2022
My friend brought this back from Japan since it's sold out here. Wow, I can't believe Diptyque created such a scent..?? To be honest, I'm not usually a fan of niche fragrances, but I really like this one. It's so delightfully fragrant! Nothing bad to say, but I'm just sad it's not a scent that suits me. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedDec 16, 2022
I received this as a birthday gift from my boyfriend and gave it a try. As someone who loves soapy and musky scents, I'm absolutely thrilled! At first, there's a slight peppery note that feels a bit sharp, but once that dissipates, the lingering fragrance is truly exquisite, folks. It's the real deal! The price is a bit steep, I must admit. However, you can find it somewhat cheaper on international shopping sites or apps! (I bought mine from J*). Also, I'm not sure if it's just my bottle, but it seems to leak a little from the cap area, unfortunately. - ki*****Combination SkinAcne SkinDec 15, 2022
It didn't live up to my expectations. It's just a very common and ordinary scent, like a faint baby powder smell from a generic facial tissue. The fragrance is too familiar and ordinary. It's just like any generic ocean-scented shampoo or tissue you've smelled a hundred times before. Other fragrances from Diptyque are quite unique. - me********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedNov 28, 2022
It's already super popular, but I secretly wish it wouldn't become any more famous. I want to keep this perfume all to myself! I initially fell in love with its lingering scent, but the more I use it, the more addicted I become to that initial peppery kick. It makes me want to keep spritzing it on! It's expensive... really expensive. In fact, it's the priciest perfume I've ever bought. But it's worth every penny, so I don't regret the splurge. - 87*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedNov 16, 2022
I first sampled this at a department store and it reminded me of my mom's comforting scent. When I looked up reviews, someone described it as 'smelling like a British grandmother's skin'. I totally get what they mean now. It truly has a warm, cozy skin-like fragrance. The initial peppery note might be polarizing. An acquaintance I'm not fond of wore Fleur de Peau year-round. I have to admit, it does seem particularly challenging to wear Fleur de Peau in summer. - vs******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 9, 2022
Ah, what can I say? It's Diptyque's top-selling fragrance for a reason! It's truly wonderful... It gives off such a cozy feeling!! The scent is reminiscent of luxurious bedding in an upscale hotel. It might be a bit heavy for spring and summer. Also, despite being a perfume, I find the scent doesn't last as long as I'd like. Perhaps I'm expecting too much?
