I ordered this from iHerb and it was a great value for the large size. After cleansing, I used small amounts and found that the hydration lasted longer than expected. Be careful though, as using too much can make it feel heavy - a tiny bit goes a long way! The full container is quite heavy, making it inconvenient to use directly. I had to transfer some to a smaller bottle for easier application. Unfortunately, there's so much product that I couldn't use it all before it expired. My fault for not knowing how to make the most of it... Next time I need something similar, I'll just buy a smaller amount from the pharmacy. - 01**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 18, 2021
I could buy glycerin at the pharmacy for just $1, but for some reason, I didn't trust it, so I ordered from Now Foods instead. I got the 473ml bottle, which turns out to be quite a lot. I initially planned to make my own toner, but it seemed like a hassle. Plus, I learned that regular water is neutral, not slightly acidic, so I decided to buy a ready-made toner instead. You can also get saline solution from the pharmacy, but it doesn't have preservatives, so you need to use it quickly once opened. My local pharmacy only sold 1000ml bottles, which was too much. So, I've just been applying it to my hair. I bought it in January, and by July, I've used as much as shown in the photo, even though I've been using it generously. The product seems fine, but I'm not sure how to best use glycerin. A dropper would have been better. Glycerin can get sticky if you use too much, and it might even draw moisture away from your skin. This packaging dispenses a lot at once, which could be convenient when you need a larger amount. - ch******Normal SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJan 26, 2021
Large quantity of glycerin. It's surprisingly versatile, much like Vaseline. As it's a raw ingredient, there's not much to criticize, but the container is a bit inconvenient, especially the lid. Be careful with the amount you use. If you apply too much, it goes beyond hydration and becomes sticky and damp. Watch your usage. - hy*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 24, 2020
Now Foods products are always reliable. This pure glycerin is a single-ingredient product and I got it at a reasonable price. Honestly, I can't think of a single drawback at this point. I'm mixing it with various products. I usually purchase it along with jojoba oil. - no******Combination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 23, 2020
It makes your skin feel moist and really enhances the sensation of hydration. The ingredients are gentle and the price is reasonable. If you use a bit too much, there's a burning sensation. Rather than being truly beneficial for the skin, it gives a damp feeling that makes you think it's hydrating. It might be better not to use it if the environment isn't humid. Due to its high water content, it's quite thin with weak hydration and poor lasting power. I plan to mix it with other products and use it in winter. It can be used to make use of emulsions with weak hydration that you don't usually reach for. - th*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 15, 2020
Highly recommended for those with combination dehydrated skin that tends to be oily. When I used to apply only Sidmool Tea Tree Gel, my skin would become extremely dry afterwards. But mixing just a drop of this glycerin makes it incredibly hydrating. To be precise, it makes your face feel a bit tacky, but I love how my skin stays moisturized until the next day. There's really nothing bad to say, but if I had to nitpick, it's that the hydration doesn't leave your skin feeling powdery soft, but rather slightly sticky. Try adding a drop to your emulsion or cream, or even to your hair mask. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedFeb 8, 2020
My skin was always so dry that I constantly felt lacking in hydration. But now I mix this with Illiyoon in a 7:3 ratio when applying. It doesn't cause any itching and keeps my skin moisturized. If you exceed even a tiny amount, it immediately becomes sticky or uncomfortable. I wish they would make the recommended dosage a bit smaller. For a moisturizing way to remove dead skin cells, try spraying some mist and then adding 3 drops of glycerin on top. Gently wipe with a cotton pad. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 4, 2019
Best bang for your buck!!! Glycerin!! Among the various ways I've used glycerin, the most satisfying was this: After shampooing and rinsing lightly, I applied glycerin to my damp hair and then rinsed thoroughly. The softness I felt in my hair was the most satisfying!! Haha While Hwahae categorizes glycerin as a skin/toner, for me it's an indispensable hair product! I tried using it on my skin as per the English instructions, but first of all, it's really difficult to control the amount, and when used alone, it feels hot and unpleasantly slippery. I think I might have been inexperienced in using it, so if I buy it again after finishing this one, I'll try to adjust it to suit my skin. You can use it for leg massages! Apply glycerin and massage your calves or thighs! Thanks to glycerin's unique warming sensation, you can boost the effectiveness of your massage! Also, where I saw the best results - hair! After shampooing and rinsing moderately, apply glycerin to your hair and then rinse it out. Compared to not doing this, you'll notice your hair is much easier to comb through!! It's amazing! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 4, 2019
I've been using this mixed with a rose toner as a DIY toner, as recommended. It's been a game-changer for my extremely dry skin! Those stubborn dead skin cells and deep dryness that wouldn't budge? This combo has really helped alleviate those issues. This isn't really a complaint about the product itself, but a word of caution: if you accidentally mix in too much glycerin, you'll end up with an incredibly sticky texture and a burning sensation on your skin. I'm currently using it mixed with Now Foods rose oil/toner, and if I have any leftover, I apply it to my body as well. - yo**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 24, 2019
Unlike oils that create a surface moisture barrier, this provides deep hydration from within. For sensitive skin prone to dryness and flaking, it's better to focus on internal moisture rather than just relying on oils for long-term improvement. I used to depend on oils year-round except summer due to constant body dryness, but last winter, mixing glycerin with emulsions significantly improved my extreme dryness. While it'd be great to find a moisturizer with perfect oil-water balance, our skin changes daily. I used it well all winter, and now in summer, I mix it with emulsions when I feel a bit dry. Unlike oils that can leave residue, glycerin doesn't, which I love. It's perfect for adding a moisture boost to products without the heaviness of oils. As someone prone to blemishes from layering products, I find this adaptable approach to hydration based on my skin's daily needs very useful. Strangely, while my skin absorbs oils well, it struggles with humectants like glycerin or high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. So when I tried the popular '3-skin' or '7-skin' methods, the excess humectants led to flushing, redness, stickiness, and even clogged pores. But using less meant insufficient hydration. While it's less noticeable on my very dry body skin, my facial skin quickly shows if I use too much or too little, which is frustrating. Cannot be used alone! If you rub pure glycerin between your hands, you'll feel it heating up. That's normal. Plus, it's incredibly sticky. Imagine applying that directly to your skin... the result is predictable. Moreover, since glycerin attracts moisture, using it on skin lacking water can lead to deep dryness. Always apply it to damp skin. It works best when mixed in small amounts (a drop or two) with products that you feel need a bit more hydration but where adding oil feels too heavy.
