  Pros

  I switched from the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask to this Cica Sleeping Mask because I was feeling dry lately, and I heard it had stronger hydration. The moisturizing power is truly intense - there's no feeling of tightness at all, and my skin stays hydrated until morning, which is great. The texture feels like a mix between an ointment and a cream. When you apply it, it feels like it forms a protective layer on your skin, and even a small amount keeps dryness at bay. Interestingly, about an hour after application, something peculiar happens. It's hard to tell if it's a pro or a con, so I've detailed it in the 'cons' section.

  The real disappointment is... while it definitely tackles dryness, my face feels itchy like something's about to break out. (It's almost like how your face might feel if you applied shea butter hand cream to it.) If you apply too much, I really think you might get a big pimple, as some reviews here mention. It does create a protective layer as soon as you apply it, but it also feels heavy and lacks freshness. The slight itchiness makes me want to scratch my face. And while it's not major, I did notice some small, red blemishes forming under my skin. Oddly enough, after about an hour, these blemishes seemed to flatten out. The itchiness also gradually subsided. So I'm torn about whether to keep using it... I'm not sure if it's my skin being weird or if the cream is unique. It's like it's causing problems and solving them at the same time! Does it have some kind of calming effect after a while? In this dry weather, my skin feels really comfortable, but then there's the itching and potential breakouts... Why can't it just do one thing well? I often feel facial dryness, so it's hard to give up on this product. I bought a lot, but if I break out again, I might end up using it as a hand and body cream.

  Tip

  Hmm... It's so moisturizing that you probably don't need to use any hydrating toners or ampoules in the previous steps. This alone seems powerful enough for hydration! I'm someone who has dry skin even in summer, but I don't think I could use this in the warmer months.

  I absolutely love that there's not a single questionable ingredient in this product! It's wonderfully hydrating and has a soothing effect, which I really appreciate.

  I have combination dehydrated skin with whiteheads and tiny bumps. I applied this over my moisturizer before bed. It feels hydrating and does a great job calming redness. It's a bit rich, though.

  I'm currently using a sample of this Laneige product that I received with another purchase. It's the richest type among the Laneige sleeping mask line, which can feel a bit too nourishing for my oily skin. That's why I only use it during the dry winter months. The cream has an incredibly smooth application, almost as if it contains silicone. Despite being rich, it melts into the skin softly and absorbs well. There's little stickiness or greasiness; instead, it leaves a firm yet soft finish. I don't usually favor creams, but in the depths of winter, when layering ampoules and essences isn't enough, I turn to this. Even a thin layer immediately banishes dryness and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. Those with very dry skin might find great satisfaction in applying a thicker layer for intense moisture... To be honest, I haven't noticed any blemish-calming or skin-smoothing effects that other reviewers mention. For me, its main benefit is how it leaves my skin feeling moisturized in the morning after applying it before bed when my skin is particularly dry and rough.

  For my skin, it feels too rich to use daily (I sense it might actually cause breakouts..), so I plan to use it about twice a week.

  I tried a sample and woke up the next day to find my skin texture completely transformed and my blemishes significantly reduced. I'm now on my 6th bottle. From the second bottle, I thought I'd developed a tolerance as it didn't seem as effective, so I tried other products. However, I couldn't find anything I liked as much as the Laneige Cica, so I came back to it, and the effects returned just like before. I don't usually have acne-prone skin, just the occasional pimple or two, but lately my skin had suddenly flared up, causing me some stress. As soon as I apply it, the redness noticeably diminishes. If it gets a bit worse again the next evening, I apply it once more, and I can see the breakouts gradually subsiding.

  Cons

  The downside is that I briefly developed a tolerance. Also, while it may vary from person to person, some might find the texture a bit heavy. Ironically, the formula sometimes causes occasional blemishes for me.

  Tip

  When you use the first bottle, the results are truly remarkable. I remember being surprised every morning when I woke up. It's so convenient and great when I'm short on time and tired - I just slather on the Laneige Cica cream haphazardly before bed without applying anything else. Recently, I've been mixing in a few drops of tea tree oil when I use it.
