It seems that applying this top coat after mascara prevents it from smearing or flaking off much. The colorless formula also allows for seamless use.

The downside is that when applying the top coat after curling lashes and putting on mascara, it weighs everything down, which is disappointing. So while using a thin curling iron to heat-style the lashes works well to lift them, the effect of the lash curler is lost, which is a shame.

The price is so unbelievably good... After applying mascara, using this lightly gives great curl retention and no smudging. The large volume makes it great for taming flyaways too.
