Scent It has a lavender scent that gives a refreshing feeling after cleansing. I've always felt something was missing when finishing with an unscented emulsion, so I really liked that this product has a fragrance. However, those sensitive to scents might not be fans. 2. Texture I thought it would be a completely watery toner, but it's slightly more viscous than expected. This means it could work well as both an exfoliating toner or for absorption. 3. Feel on skin Despite containing alcohol, which I thought would make it drying and watery, it actually feels nice and elastic due to the glycerin content. My skin felt comfortable after application.
Cons1. Ingredients The alcohol content occasionally made my skin tingle. As I have sensitive skin, I was a bit concerned about the ingredients. However, it didn't cause any blemishes. 2. Absorption The glycerin content makes absorption slightly slower. This didn't bother me much, but I'm mentioning it as it might be an issue for some. 3. Price Compared to emulsions, creams, or ampoules, I always use more of this as an exfoliating toner. I always apply it with a cotton pad, and I feel the price is a bit high for the amount you get.
TipAs I have combination dehydrated skin, after cleansing I use this as an exfoliating toner with a cotton pad to refine my skin texture. Then, depending on my skin's condition that day, I apply 1-3 layers by patting it into my skin. Afterwards, I follow up with an emulsion for extra hydration.

The ingredients are great! As you can see on the Hwahae app, the formula is gentle. It contains naturally fermented black rice and bamboo shoot extracts too! It's stated that 95% of the toner's ingredients are naturally derived, and I didn't experience any blemishes during the week I used it. It's packed with hydration! Except for summer, I have combination dehydrated skin that needs extra care in spring, fall, and winter. It absorbs well with gentle patting and doesn't feel sticky after absorption. The hydration is so rich that you can apply it directly with your hands, or use a cotton pad as a mask on areas that need extra moisture like the chin and cheeks. When using it as a mask, it's best to keep it on for less than 5 minutes. The texture is like a runny gel! It doesn't drip, which is great. It's perfect for quickly applying with your hands. It's a large size! I was surprised when I received it. Isn't 300ml considered a big bottle? It improves skin texture! Probably because it provides so much hydration, I can feel my skin, which was rough from wearing masks, gradually becoming smoother. I recommend this to anyone who feels their oil and moisture balance is off!
ConsThe price point is on the higher side. Good ingredients, great quantity, but it comes with a matching price tag... There's a unique scent. I'm not sensitive to fragrances so it didn't bother me, but there's a slight, hard-to-describe unusual scent. If you're sensitive to fragrances, I'd suggest testing it first. Be very careful not to get it in your eyes - it stings a lot! Not recommended for very oily skin types. I felt it was a bit heavy for summer use. However, I think it would be fine for use after dermatological treatments.
TipUse thin cotton pads that absorb the toner well for masking! This method is absolutely amazing!

Sorry for the delay - my mom and I have been using it together! My mom has very oily skin, while I have combination skin that leans towards oily. We both have super sensitive skin. We loved the luxurious packaging design. The texture is runny, and it feels a bit sticky when it settles. It might be great for those with dry skin. We tried it together because black rice is said to have antioxidant benefits. While I'm not sure about the effects, my mom loved how it made her skin feel more supple. It's reassuring that it contains naturally-derived ingredients, making it safe to use. It would also make a lovely gift!
ConsPersonally, I wasn't a fan of the scent, and I found the absorption to be slow with a sticky finish, which was a bit disappointing. It might be because it's summer... The fragrance seemed a bit harsh, and it stung my skin a little. Also, as a student, I found it a bit pricey...

My skin type is extremely dry on the surface but produces a lot of oil underneath, making it combination dehydrated skin. It's also super sensitive skin, prone to blemishes. ✔ Texture It's not a lightweight toner! For a regular toner, it's not too watery and has a slight stickiness to it. However, it's not as sticky as an essence would be! ✔ Hydration It's perfect for use on its own during this summer season! In the mornings, I can just apply this toner for hydration, and my face doesn't feel tight at all. It's a great product to use alone when you don't want to layer multiple products in the summer.
Cons🤔 First off, the scent is really disappointing.. Personally, I really dislike this kind of fragrance, and the thought of smelling it every time I apply it is unpleasant. If it weren't for the smell, everything else would be fine. 🤔 There's a slight tingling sensation when applied to areas with blemishes! So far it hasn't caused any breakouts, but I'll need to be careful. 🤔 It doesn't absorb quickly. While the absorption is a bit slow, once it does absorb, my skin feels completely moisturized, so I can still tolerate it. 🤔 As good as the hydration is, the oil comes to the surface quickly. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, it managed to lock in moisture, but couldn't control my oil production.
TipFor me, I prefer that it's not too watery. I dispense some onto my hand and apply it all over my face. Applying it twice all over is enough to prevent dryness and feels just right.

You can also easily see how much product is left. I liked that the design seemed to represent the black rice ingredient well from the start. Texture: It has slightly more viscosity than water, but when dispensed onto the hand, it flows as shown in the photo. Application: Although I have dry skin, I prefer exfoliating toners. This product could be used as an exfoliating toner, but I think it works better as a regular toner. When applied with a cotton pad, it felt like it neither absorbed nor wiped off - more like it created a coating? Haha. It was better when I patted it into my face with my hands. Hydration: When applied only once, it felt dry. After patting and absorbing about three layers, there was no dryness. Overall: I think it's just an average product. I didn't experience any blemishes while using it, but I also didn't feel a dramatic improvement in skin texture. Since I've only used it for a week, I'll leave an additional review on skin texture improvement after using it more! (+) I'm not sure about skin texture improvement, but it seems better the more I use it. At least there are no major blemishes, and I'm satisfied with its moderate hydration.
ConsScent: It might be polarizing. It says it contains lavender oil, but rather than the typical soothing lavender herb scent, it's a stronger scent? Like an alcohol-mixed sharp scent? I think I'm slightly addicted to the scent, haha. Occasional tingling: Maybe because it contains alcohol, it felt a bit tingling when my skin was sensitive. Stickiness: If you pat it in for too long trying to absorb it, it becomes sticky. You need to apply it with just the right amount of patting.
TipAfter cleansing with a water-based toner, I pat this toner into my face about three times, then apply serum once and cream once for perfect hydration☆ (I apply this way even in summer because I have dry skin)
