  Pros

  When used together with Medisica Skin, it strikes the perfect oil and moisture balance! I love how gentle all Skin&Lab products are. This is the only one that doesn't cause blemishes for me. Among the many creams I've tried, this one stands out as my favorite because it's neither too heavy nor too light.

  Cons

  If only the quantity was a bit more generous and it hadn't been discontinued... I really hope they bring it back soon!

  Pros

  Pros

  As someone with oily skin, I dislike products that leave a sticky finish. This one, however, is fragrance-free, gentle, and ends with a refreshingly light feel! That's why I loved it. It's a versatile item that can be used on any skin type without causing irritation.

  Cons

  While there weren't any specific downsides, I have combination dehydrated skin with severe deep dryness, so I felt I needed to apply a generous amount to feel like it penetrated deeply.

  It's great as a gentle, basic skincare item. The scent is very subtle and not irritating at all! I haven't experienced any blemishes since using this. I like it and have used two tubes.

  This product was incredibly gentle. As you can see from the ingredient list, it's formulated with mild components and doesn't have any unnecessary artificial fragrances, making it very convenient to use. It had an excellent soothing effect on my skin, and it applies as moisturizing as a hydrating cream. I think it's a versatile cream that can be comfortably used from spring through fall.

  Cons

  There wasn't really anything to complain about, but if I had to nitpick... For a cream, it's a bit tricky to control the amount you dispense!

  The cream itself has such a gentle and versatile texture that when mixed with foundation, it creates a moisturizing effect that seems to last longer.

  Hello there! This is a review from one of The Hwahae Testers. I tried this product by replacing just the cream in my existing skincare routine during the testing period. I have combination dehydrated skin that gets super oily in summer but dry underneath, and experiences extreme dryness in winter. I also have somewhat sensitive skin, so any product I use immediately shows its effects, for better or worse. That's why I typically opt for products that are gentle on the skin. The 'Skin&Lab Medicica Calming Cream' was perfect for use as a lightweight, non-irritating cream. 1. Application ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The texture is just right for a summer cream, somewhere between an emulsion and a cream - light and smooth. When applied to the skin, it spreads smoothly and evenly without pilling, which I really liked. It doesn't feel heavy or sticky at all, but rather comfortably envelops the skin. It absorbs well too - just spread it evenly and pat a few times, and it's absorbed with a moisturized finish. The product description mentioned green particles, but I didn't even notice them when I first used it without reading the details properly. That's how imperceptible they are on the skin. (Though this could be due to my skin texture...) 2. Hydration ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It doesn't feel like it's sitting on top of the skin or leave an excessively oily feeling. As for hydration, rather than feeling like it's giving a super boost of moisture, it feels more like it's providing just the right amount. But the important thing is that even as time passes, it keeps the skin moisturized without any feeling of dryness or tightness. Also, my sebum production during the day has significantly decreased. While it might be too much to expect completely matte skin, compared to before using this product, I've gone from using oil blotting papers twice a day to once or not at all. 3. Soothing Effect ⭐⭐⭐ To be honest, I didn't notice any dramatic effects. In fact, given how much the product name and description emphasized 'cica', 'centella', and 'soothing', it might even feel less effective compared to expectations. However, the heat I used to feel in my skin after application has definitely decreased, and redness has also gone down a notch. It seems to ease the tension from an unbalanced skin condition, bringing the skin to a more comfortable state. Day by day, I kept thinking that this cream provides the basic hydration needed and allows the skin to rest.

  Cons

  1. Hydration Those with very dry skin might find it lacking. Since it's not an intensely hydrating type or a rich cream, people with dry skin might need additional moisturizing steps on top of this product. Following the instructions, I applied it thickly before bed, and while it felt moisturizing, by morning my skin had become oily. It seems to balance oil and moisture best when applied in moderation. 2. The somewhat disappointing soothing effect While I think this cream does an excellent job of balancing oil and moisture and making the skin feel comfortable, it doesn't seem to handle blemishes caused by external irritants or stress. It's probably more accurate to view it as a daily care product rather than a targeted treatment for blemishes.

  This cream is very suitable for daily use in summer without causing irritation. Instead of seeing it as a special care product based on its name or description, think of it as a 'summer cream' that excels at the basics, and you'll likely be satisfied with its performance.

  This is a review from The Hwahae Testers for the period 20/08/23~20/09/04. 1. It wasn't irritating regardless of skin condition. Among all the products I've used, this and the A24 Aloe Gel were the only ones that didn't cause any stinging or discomfort in any skin state (I recently tried Aromatica's Aloe Gel and felt a tingling irritation for the first few days). However, this product caused no irritation from the start and throughout the entire usage period. 2. It doesn't cause blemishes. In summer, I usually suffer from painful breakouts around my chin, and using the wrong skincare can make it worse. But with this product, I wake up to find my blemishes slightly calmed rather than aggravated. While breakouts may resurface in the afternoon, my skin feels smooth in the morning. 3. It absorbs quickly without being too heavy or light. It provides hydration without feeling greasy or sitting on top of the skin. It applies smoothly, leaving the skin feeling soft, moisturized, and supple. Based on my skin, it wasn't heavy for summer use and should be sufficiently moisturizing for winter. 4. The size is perfect. While we can't travel now... I think it's an ideal size to carry and apply during trips. I usually don't like large squeeze-tube products, but compared to other 50ml products I use, this one is shorter but contains the same amount. It seems they've maximized the product content, which is satisfying. 5. Personally, I enjoyed the texture when squeezing it out and applying it to my face. The color is also well-chosen, capturing the essence of a cica product.

  Cons

  I find the packaging design lacking. Apart from the product name and legally required warnings, there's no Korean text visible. Even the precautions are written in Korean at the very end. At the very least, there should be guidance like 'Please apply as the last step of your skincare routine if it's a cream', but even this is written only in English under 'directions'. While this product is made in Korea and might expand overseas riding the K-beauty wave, the packaging seems rushed. Although the design clearly targets a younger demographic, those who can't read English or older individuals might have to guess about the product's effects or application method, aside from the product name. Because of this, despite the product itself having good ingredients and being effective, the brand's first impression might not be entirely positive. That's why I deducted one star. Considering just the cream itself, it would be a five-star product.

  Tip

  Since it can be applied anytime, there's not really a special tip, but I use it like this: I apply aloe gel, use a galvanic device, then apply this product and use the galvanic device again. The next morning after cleansing, my skin still feels super smooth!

  Here's my review as one of The Hwahae Testers! My skin type: extremely oily with blemishes and super sensitive skin. This cream has great absorption and feels as hydrating as a moisturizer! The hydration was truly excellent, and it absorbs well into the skin. It provides good moisture without being thick or heavy like other cica creams, which is great. Regarding its soothing effects, while there weren't any dramatic visible changes, I could feel it gradually calming my skin from deep within. It's not irritating, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin!

  Cons

  Unfortunately, it wasn't great for oil control. After application, my skin became shiny, so it's best to avoid using it before makeup. Also, I didn't see much improvement in managing excess sebum.

  Here's my review as a member of The Hwahae Testers: Texture: It's not too runny like a gel, nor is it thick like a cream. It has a nice gel-like consistency with small white particles that seem to melt and absorb into the skin as you apply it. My experience after a week of use: I have super sensitive skin that reacts quickly to harsh ingredients, but this product is genuinely gentle! When I apply a thick layer all over my face before bed, I wake up with noticeably hydrated skin. While it may not have dramatic effects on blemishes, it does provide hydration and seems to improve redness to some extent. I think it would be great to keep in the fridge and apply whenever you want to cool down your skin!

  Cons

  For my cystic acne on the chin area, which is more severe than small bumps, I didn't see any dramatic improvements. While it does provide hydration, I didn't notice significant soothing effects on my existing blemishes.

  Tip

  I found that keeping it in the refrigerator and using it cool enhanced its soothing effects, making them feel twice as effective!
