I bought the Bronze Opal shade because black can be too intense and brown is for when I want a softer look. It's thinner than other products, making it easier to apply. Due to the nature of the liner, it glides on smoothly but can smudge or break easily. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 12, 2023
1. Affordable price With cosmetics prices soaring these days, it's a huge plus to find something budget-friendly. 2. Slim and smooth The thin, soft tip allows for quick and easy application. Its slenderness is perfect for drawing fine, delicate lines. 3. Sets quickly and lasts long Despite gliding on smoothly, it sets fast. Since it doesn't fill in the waterline, it stays put without smudging for hours. 1. Not as smooth as brush pens? I initially thought the lines weren't as clean as brush pens, but after seeing other reviews, I realized it's just my lack of skill... Those with less steady hands might find it challenging to achieve smooth lines. 2. Clumping and excess With use, you might notice some clumping or excess. This could occasionally be a bit inconvenient. If you have oily eyelids, make sure to apply powder before using this eyeliner. It'll help prevent smudging and keep your look lasting all day long. - Hwahae UserDry SkinFeb 2, 2023
It applies naturally and has great staying power without smudging. There's not much to complain about, but if I had to nitpick, it can clump a bit when it gets slightly dry. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinAug 11, 2022
The thickness is just right - thin enough for easy application! It glides on smoothly, though your skin needs a bit of natural oil for the best application. The color is perfect for me - not too black, not too brown. It looks very natural. It tends to clump slightly when applied, and there's quite a bit of excess powder fallout. I've included a photo to show this. The amount you get is disappointingly small - it runs out so quickly! Your skin needs some natural oils for the best application. If you've applied too much powder beforehand, it won't go on well. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinJan 5, 2022
The price is really affordable, which is great, and it seems convenient for students to use. I love that the brown shade can be applied lightly for a natural, subtle look that doesn't stand out too much! It's a bit too small, making it easy to misplace, and because it's thin, it tends to smudge rather than break while drawing sometimes. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinDec 12, 2021
It's thin, which is great for those of us who find filling in the waterline uncomfortable. I didn't notice at first, but when I used an eyeliner brush, even someone with shaky hands like me could create a beautiful line. Despite my eyes being prone to smudging with brush pens, I haven't experienced any smudging yet. The color is darker than the name suggests, so if you're expecting a brown shade, opt for something lighter. It tends to smudge easily, making it difficult to create a strong, defined line. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 10, 2021
The color is a deep brown. It glides on smoothly, doesn't smudge easily, and performs quite well. Its slim design makes it perfect for drawing precise lines at the outer corners of your eyes. It breaks far too easily - sometimes twice in a single application. The pencil itself is shorter than a palm and quite thin, indicating a small amount of product. It smudges easily and wears down quickly, and with chunks breaking off frequently, you'll find yourself using it up much faster than expected. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 20, 2020
Overall, I'm really pleased with this product. The color is beautiful and it's thin, making it easy to use. Color: It's a brown, almost burgundy shade without any shimmer or red undertones. It's a versatile color that complements any makeup look without being too bold. Thickness: At 1.5mm, it's slim enough to create a precise line all the way to the outer corner of the eye. Unlike other gel eyeliners that tend to smudge onto the lashes and transfer to the lower lash line when you blink, the Merge The First Slim Gel Eyeliner is thin and easy to apply. Longevity and Smudge-Resistance: The staying power is impressive. It lasts from morning to evening without smudging. While I do experience some transfer under my eyes, it's minimal compared to other gel eyeliners. It's so long-lasting that even if you try to remove it immediately with a cleansing foam, you'll need a proper makeup remover to get it off completely. Texture: One downside I noticed is the difference between the two shades I tried. While Brown Quartz glides on smoothly (like using a gel pen), Bronze Opal is harder and doesn't apply as easily. It feels almost like a dried-out pencil where the wood is covering the tip. I understand gel eyeliners can dry out quickly, but it's odd that only one of them hardened when I bought them together. Because of this, applying Bronze Opal can be a bit uncomfortable. Breakage: Related to the texture issue, the harder formula tends to break easily. If you try to extend it too far to get a smoother application, it's prone to snapping. Using just a little bit at a time helps, but then it doesn't apply as well. While I love the color and most aspects of this eyeliner, the difficulty in application is a significant drawback. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 17, 2020
It's thin, making it easy to apply. The color is vibrant and it glides on smoothly. The slim design makes it convenient to carry around. It's long-lasting, so you don't need to touch up your makeup often. Because it's so thin, it can break easily. There might be some clumping issues. It also tends to smudge a bit. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 26, 2020
The product's strengths are its thin lead and natural color. It doesn't smudge excessively. With a bit of powder, it performs quite well. Being slim and compact, it's perfect for on-the-go use. As you get to the end, the lead becomes softer. It gets blunt and mine broke in the middle.
