Even though I received the product for free, I will provide an honest and factual review based on my experience. My skin type is slightly dry and very oily, with some blemishes and I tend to wear heavy makeup. My usual cleansing routine involves using a lip and eye makeup remover, followed by an oil-like cleansing oil and a makeup-removing cleansing foam. The Balea Micellar Cleansing Water for Combination Skin is a popular product in German drugstores, and it has recently launched at Lohbs for 9,900 won for a 400ml bottle. Compared to the products I've used before, this one offers great value for money. Usage period: September 19 - September 30, about 2 weeks. 1. Cleansing Performance As a cleansing product, its cleansing power is excellent. Compared to the cleansing waters I've used before, this one was able to thoroughly remove my makeup, including foundation, matte lip tint, shimmery eyeshadow, matte lipstick, and glossy tint (with good color payoff). The shimmery eyeshadow, in particular, was completely removed, unlike other cleansing waters I've used where some shimmer residue remained. The strongly pigmented tint did require more effort to remove, but I'm satisfied that it was successfully removed. 2. Finish I don't usually use cleansing waters often, as some can leave an oily or drying finish, requiring additional cleansing. However, the Balea Micellar Cleansing Water left my skin feeling just right - not too dry or oily, but with a refreshing, clean feeling after cleansing. It leaves my skin feeling just right - not too dry or oily, but refreshingly clean. I really enjoyed this finish, as it didn't feel sticky or unpleasant at all. This made me think that this is why oily-skinned people use cleansing waters - this one seems perfect for oily skin. It didn't leave my skin feeling uncomfortable even without additional cleansing, which is why I think people use cleansing waters. 3. Post-Use Experience (Individual Differences) Of course, individual skin differences may vary, but lately my skin has been a bit sensitive, and products that don't suit me can easily cause bumps and major breakouts. I was quite worried about this product as well, no matter how good the ingredients are, if it doesn't work for my skin, it could cause trouble. Moreover, since I was mostly just using this cleansing water without additional cleansing, I was concerned that if any breakouts occurred, it would be problematic. However, after using it for nearly 2 weeks, including the final day of the Hwahae trial period, I did not experience any breakouts at all. The makeup removal was effective, and my skin did not get upset or develop major blemishes. In fact, my skin actually improved. I'm very pleased with this result. ( ˘ ³ ˘ )
ConsRegarding the fragrance that many people have pointed out, to be honest, I'm not very sensitive to fragrances and am rather desensitized to them. Even the supposedly pungent propolis fragrance doesn't bother me much. While others would scrunch up their faces, I thought it was fine. I also didn't find the fragrance of the Ballea product to be a problem at all. In fact, I barely notice it. However, the reason I included this as a drawback is that my mother and friends, whom I recommended the product to, also found the fragrance to be rather unpleasant, despite being satisfied with the cleansing performance and feel. As my friend described it, it has a faint nail polish or acetone-like smell. While I may be desensitized, it seems that most people would find the fragrance undesirable, so I thought it was worth mentioning. The mascara doesn't come off easily. I may have been expecting too much, but the mascara didn't wash off even when I used a cotton pad soaked in water and scrubbed vigorously. I had to resort to using a separate makeup remover, which was the biggest drawback for me personally. Those who don't use much mascara may not have this issue. The use of cotton pads is quite wasteful. When using the cleansing water, you need multiple cotton pads to thoroughly remove the makeup, and I ended up using around 7-10 pads each time. While this is a common issue with cleansing waters in general, it's still a drawback that can't be overlooked. Of course, these drawbacks are not unique to the Ballea product, as they are inherent to cleansing waters in general. So it's not a flaw specific to Ballea.
TipThis cleansing water is the best product for those who don't use mascara often and are insensitive to fragrance. It is truly a cleansing water made for oily skin! I really like the great value, so I plan to repurchase it.
